  1. Just came across the original GSF invoice for the clutch master - dated 08/06/2017. The part is manufactured by Brembo, came in a branded box, GSF part# 716VG20, OEM part# 357721401 and cost €58.00 less VAT. Should fit early VR6 models with the round ring fitting at the pedal end. Hope this helps someone.
  2. Looks good - re the aux adapter I found this thread - seeing as it's a genuine VDO one, they might have a number of different types : https://www.hyundai-forums.com/threads/getz-vdo-radio-cd.125133/ There's also lots of aftermarket ISO aux in and bluetooth manufacturers about on eBay.
  3. Replied in your other thread - long gone I'm afraid - I sold the car over ten years ago.
  4. I used to have a Votex console with the 3 gauges in my Mk2 - sold it over 10 yrs ago though, sorry. Found it on German fleaBay at the time. Also came with a DIN sized 4 CD holder as an insert, and then I also had a Fisher CD tray for the Mk2, not the usual cassette box, but for compact discs. The Votex consoles are now very rare and pricey - there were a few companies making reproductions, wonder if they are still around? The gauges and senders you can buy straight off VDO, or you can use ones from the Audi Coupes, just need to swap the back lighting over to green. Also used to have another rare bit of kit - a pair of Happich pop out rear windows.
  5. Thought it might be - spamtastic, but couldn't tell for sure. Ah well, they'll run out of free posts soon enough.
  6. Ah cool - so has powered aerial, telephone mute and dimmable illumination by the looks of things - so the only thing you would really be losing (and gaining an in dash CD player instead) is the GALA speed dependent volume control. I could live with that. I believe there is also an OEM aux iPhone/iPad interface from VDO that can be used with these, or you have ISO changer control.
  7. Easy enough to replace - if the arm is very firmly stuck on the spindle after you undo the nut, you might need a small puller to get it off - most motor factors will have these, and they are made specially for wipers and small stuff. Best to replace entirely really, as if you try to bend it back it may have lost some of its structural integrity and be more like to break or snap off - not something you want while out driving.
  8. Yep, it should look the part. Looks like it has ISO CD changer control, so should take an AUX in as well. Might have to get one of these to tide me over until the CD changer goes back in - it looks a lot lees flash and desireable than the Nakamichi CD500 I have in storage, which is the only other CD head unit I have. The VDO part is kind of cool as well. Have you got a pin-out for it by any chance, or a picture of the casing where there is usually a diagram? Just wondering what it supports.
  9. Yep - I remember this as popular mod for 8v/16v 4cyl cars. I'm not sure, but I think the VR gearbox mount is already uprated, as I seem to remember looking for a diesel one at the time but went for standard in the end.
  10. I think the consensus is that the gearbox mount should be left standard, and the other two can be upgraded with only a minor increase in cabin vibrations.
  11. Topran and JP are mostly rubbish and not worth buying imho for the cost savings, as you will be doing the job again soon enough if you go with them. Heritage are 50/50, and unless it's a Classics part are bit like GSF in that they will stock components at different quality levels and prices. If it is engine mounts and top suspension mounts you are looking for, have you actually tried a dealer? These were common across a number of models, and VW Classic Parts won't stock a part if it is still part of dealer inventory. I got top mounts and engine and gearbox mounts, all VAG, 2 years ago no problem. As Keyo says above - it's also always worth getting the EXACT part number you need and plugging that into Google and fleaBay - you'd be surprised what's out there. There might be a few dead ends and red herrings, but something will turn up. Keep in mind that just because the parts are not available in the UK dealers, that doesn't mean the same thing elsewhere - there used to be a number fo German VW dealers that would sell parts abroad over the Internet, but they seem to have stopped now - I used to get a lot of stuff from Autohaus Schlagheck, but you will now find a lot of Baltic and Eastern European sellers online as the cars have become popular there.
  12. I've got one of these in my car - B4 Passat/T4 Eurovan item: The lock and chain are not for holding your large latte in, they lock the steering wheel to the seat frame! Old school crook-lok.
  13. Yum yum - they look great. Very special!
  14. I've seen two-gauge panels in there, or a storage box, but it's pretty hard to make it look neat and OEM. A cupholder is another idea I've seen float around - I'm keeping mine in place though to have it original and I think any of the mods detract from the factory look, but some have been done really nicely. Take a look on vwvortex and you will see a few examples.
  15. Think it came with this kit - rhat's where the clips came from anyway - if they are the right ones: https://www.ebay.ie/itm/VW-Corrado-Mk3-Golf-Jetta-vr6-Passat-02A-Shift-Cable-Bushing-Box-Rebuild-Kit/361824103274?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 http://www.mk1autohaus.com/ Search functionality is a bit rubbish on the actual site.

Easy to do and it makes a good deal of difference - have done it on mine. Before you do that I would advise replacing the FPR. On a side note, I replaced my ignition switch the other day and have noticed much shorter start time since.
  17. These are all the bits I have collected so far - some are duplicates:
  18. I thought so too - they probably provide a little bit of damping, although the bolt and the insert are solid, so would transmit. A couple of guys on an Irish forum here had them fitted without any problems.
  19. Yes, covers both. I haven’t fitted mine yet, so can’t speak for vibrations etc. , but the mod gets very good feedback on vortex and no one mentions it.
  20. Yep. They’re the ones. They come apart top and bottom and replace the rubber bush and inner metal lining.
  21. Yep - they're the ones - but lots of places sell cnc/steel replacements that tighten up the shifting. The main thing is also to get it properly adjusted - VAG have a special alignment tool:
  22. No, the bushes are part no 41/42 on drawing 3 on your link, holding down the bracket with 3 bolts - I'd still say don't waste you money on the cables, they will make practically no difference (must be close to 300 for the two) - lots of people doing conversions use old cables all the time without any problems. Buy the car something else nice instead!
  23. They're actually on the bolts that hold the cable bracket to the gear box housing just in front of the shift tower in the engine bay, and act as a bowden stop. They look like little donuts and come in two parts. So they won't come with new cables. The cables themselves don't really stretch, it's just that the plastic ends break. If it was me I wouldn't invest in new cables as they will be pretty pricey from what I've seen but just buy the cable repair blocks from Gruven or the like (also plenty on the 'bay) and put them on instead - then they'll never break/
  24. It's difficult to see but looks like all the bushes are on there - the seals are only required if you drop the exhaust to remove it from underneath. The cable ends will have bushings in them that may need to be replaced. Just so you know beforehand, the only way to remove the shift tower without some cutting is to drop it out of the tunnel - hence the exhaust issue - otherwise it is just a small section of metal lip that needs to be removed to be able to get the main fulcrum pin out. It's not visible once all the rim is on anyway. There's still a few other linkages and bushings in play at the other end - the bowden bracket ones for for example are three reinforced rubber mounts that can be replaced with steel or alu, then there's the plastic ends of the cables, the plastic shift bracket and a guide piece. Will dig these out for you tomorrow and take a photo.
  25. The components should come with a pair of splitter/filters that has 2x in RL from stereo/amp and 4 x out, two to each speaker +/- , one set to the door and one to the dash tweeter. The splitter/crossover box is usually then hidden underneath the dash somewhere or behind the door card.
