Greetings, I'm new here but my Corrado's not!

Welcome aboard! :) -
As cyclists, a question we're used to be asked about once a week... :|
-
Seems to be about the going rate, and Classic Line do seem pretty competitive. I have insured with them in the past when my Corrado was not being used as my daily.

Could this be right? Brand new VR6 steering wheels fom VW Classic?

Haven't had the chance to check it over yet - not sure I will for a couple of days yet sadly, but glimpsing through the wrapping it looks great :) -

Looks like I may be one of the first, having just received my steering wheel this evening :) Thanks very much for sorting this Ron - time to get the old one on eBay I think :) -

If you need any more cash bunging your way Ron towards shipping / packing, please don't hesitate to say so. Don't want you out of pocket for helping us out. -
As I've said several times on various concours threads, I can't relate to it but really appreciate those folks who do keep Corrado's on the road to this standard. God knows VW seem to have very little interest in preserving the Corrado for the future, so its nice there are some real enthusiasts like Chris who'll keep these cars on the road for decades to come.

Quite strong money there too... maybe it's time for Corrado prices to heading up a bit? :)
-
The orange Koni STR.T's? Thought they were a good suspension setup actually! Not too firm, handles OK!
-
Nice one Kippy :) A fairly uncommon colour it seems really - don't see many around, especially as clean and straight as that.
-
I'm sorting it. Cheers.

No. The shell is slightly different too! :)
-
*******s :( I live near to Birmingham - I'll keep my eyes peeled.

Hi Ron - just PP'd you the 25 quid. I'll PM you my address :) -
Welcome to the forum! Sounds like you have the right kind of skills and enthusiasm for taking on a Corrado :) Had the pleasure of a couple of trips out to NorCal in the last couple of years and it's a beautiful part of the world. Been up and down the Cabrillo Highyway a couple of times and it's pretty tough to beat the views and the sunshine on a nice day!

Yeah - they've had these 2.8 blocks up Buy It Now for a while!
-
Have been sorely tempted but really not an ideal time money wise.
-
Heh.. just seen these results posted up on Facebook by one of the Stealth guys and had a feeling it was your motor :) Amusing how they took your supercharged car and virtually added the power of a 16v Corrado to it! :)

By my maths that means I owe you £23.13 (as I'll need mine posting as I'm some way away from you!) so if I chuck you over £25 that should cover everything, Ron? I should still have your email address for PayPal purposes (which I'll send as a gift of course). -

Triffic and rather kind of you to take the hit on getting the slightly marked one, Ron. It's always the person who organises these things that gets the short straw it seems (speaking from experience). I'm aware I owe you still for the horn centre but just work out what's owed and I will square up with you :) Great work on this Ron. -
Looks like the Stealth boys have been busy :) Was only there a month or so ago and the engine was nowhere near being put back together! :)
-
Welcome :) Heater not working sounds like the heater matrix may have failed and been bypassed - check to see if the pipes are connecting correctly through the bulkhead / firewall, or see if they've been bypassed! Not expensive to fix (a new matrix is about 60 quid) but a day of work to get the dash out and swap it over!

Looking forward to seeing the wheels! :) -
It sounds like you are in the same boat as me Roger to be honest. The engine will probably go on for another 40k but just sound like crap.. A new motor or engine rebuild is your only option longer term.
-
I've helped do two heater matrix's now - we did one with the dash left in, and one taking the dash out. It was honestly far easier taking the dash out and truthfully (speaking as someone who's easily intimidated with potentially difficult jobs on the car) it wasn't that hard. As Andy says, read the various guides that have been put up on here, take your time getting everything out (undertrays, dashboxes, switchgear, etc) - it all comes apart quite nicely, label everything including all the connectors and screws and you shouldn't go too far wrong :) Good luck.
