    Eu Referendum

The worst thing is I am not even excited about tomorrow. It makes me feel sick to my stomach. Because if we vote to leave I feel it will be a gigantic mistake and it's a horrible feeling to not believe in the outcome which you feel is somehow inevitable.

Not going to judge anyone either way for their decision, but I am firmly remaining in. Too many unknowns about leaving, and frankly all the people who represent the leave campaign (Farage, Boris, Gove) I utterly loathe. The sector I work in would be affected by a leave vote too so.. it's a no brainer for me about remaining.
  4. Tough one :) I like originality for sure - Chris Gaskell's/Chris Lee's old Storm, Judith and Kip's cars... they're all lovely. But I also like some slight modification (like a bit of a drop, maybe some engine tweaks), and even tastefully modified for performance (like VAG-hag's awesome VR turbo, and n3p's old car, John Mitchells amazing car, etc). My favourite is 'rare' originality - I'd love an untouched Corrado VR6 Campaign more than anything I think, for the exclusivity more than anything else. Stuff I can't stand on a Corrado? I just don't get the love for the BBS 301's - they just don't work for me at all. And rat look. A little bit of fun on some cars, but not on a Corrado.
  5. Could be a crap bearing - what brand did you fit? I've had issues with noisy, cheap bearings in the past. Will only stick to known good OE brands now for that reason.
  6. Yep - was already posted fairly recently :) Discussion can be found here: http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?94643-VW-Corrado-Magnum-Sport-Kombi
  7. Apparently prices on Porsche 928's are starting to get interesting.

    Sun Roof issue

Best off using Google search, limited to the forum, to find what you need as the built in search is a bit crap. If you go to Google and type: site:the-corrado.net So for example: site:the-corrado.net sunroof guide snapped There are so many threads on this, you're best off just spending 10-15 minutes doing a bit of digging this way.
  9. Didn't realise yours had been off the road so long. Not good at all :(
  10. Cheers James. It's been a bit of a nightmare to be fair, but hopefully that's all behind me now :)
  11. I think I've had this one (green VR) coming up on 5 years - which is a bit of a shock to think about it!
  12. Crossing my fingers and hoping that my VR is going to be done by the end of the month. It's been there since January! When I took it in, they were quiet. When I gave them the go ahead to start work on the engine, they said the workload had gone mental. :( Full top and bottom engine rebuild again (including new pistons with overbored block), roose motorsport hoses, new genuine VAG engine wiring loom being fitted and hopefully a new fuel pump too. It'd just had refurbished injectors fitted a few weeks before it went in too. Soo... should be running sweet. Can't wait. Missed the car like crazy! Will be making a new members gallery thread and starting over when I get it back.
  13. Certainly does look like it's going to be one of the best in the country, no doubt. It's stunning so far. I almost feel like you're doing a service to us Corrado enthusiasts to take one and so comprehensively restore it and put it back on the road :)
  14. We need at least a price please Stella. Sorry to hear you're selling up.
  15. Just to warn you, they're surprisingly heavy - so postage might be a bit of a toe curler!
  16. Kinda cool that the company are based in Osnabruck. The auction gets you one sample piece of leather to try - wonder what the entire interior would cost in just a nice plain 'OE' looking black leather.. Example auction for a complete normal looking interior for a MK1 cabrio is here, and looks pretty decent! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-Golf-1-Cabrio-Kunstlederbezuge-beige-Mittelteile-edel-perforiert-Leder-mogli-/141760939443

    Parts needed

If you send 8vMatt a PM, he organised a group buy of a very high quality reproduction headlight switch which many of us are now running in our cars with no problems. Very reasonably priced too :) (about £35 I think?). In terms of bonnet foam, drop Sprinter53 a PM - again, he was producing a very good reproduction set in the OE type finish (waffle).
  19. Utter *******s. Hope the owner gets the car back soon and in unmolested condition :(

    £15k VR6

Still hasn't been shown a sponge or a vacuum cleaner either. Unbelievable.
  21. Have to say that these sorts of things were always my fear of buying or owning a heavily modified or custom car. It's probably awesome when everything is all working but when it comes to fixing something you end up having a real lottery with parts in terms of trying to work out what is fitted and what modifications were needed to get them on the car.
  22. As per the diagram wonder if it'd either be the ECU temperature sensor, or (if present) the fan over-run up top. I'd just try disconnecting the sensors one at a time on the side of the block and see if the fan magically stops running.
  23. Have you replaced the other fan switch in the side of the head? Just reading this thread here that says there's one there, as well as the one plugged into the radiator: http://www.the-corrado.net/showthread.php?25856-1-8-16v-fan-coming-on-when-cold
  24. I know, right? It's the dream.
