  1. Certainly is intriguing. My front wings aren't in the best shape I don't think and was considering getting some painted up. Might hold out and see what becomes of this.
  2. Regarding PayPal fees... As far as I'm concerned, the fees are for the seller to absorb. That's the cost of accepting / using PayPal. It's never been about the buyer 'covering' those charges - if that was the case, when (as a buyer) you made a payment, you would be told it was costing you extra for your buyer protection. If, as a seller, you want the buyer to foot those fees then make the price a little higher from the start and offer to lower it a little if they're not paying through PayPal.
  3. Well then that confirms they're available on Classic Parts then :)
  4. They seem to have come from Classic Parts in the picture, and indeed searching for that part number on the box, on their site, shows them as in stock. But is that the actually the part number for the speedline centre cap? (535 601 149 A)
  5. Welcome to the forum :)
  6. There goes another Corrado, to the scrapheap in the sky :(
  7. I guess it's entirely possible Clumpy didn't know exactly what was on that car, in every single detail. Certainly feel we could do with some clarification on the situation from the man himself though.
  8. Interested to hear how you get on assuming you go for the AP's. Still need to sort suspension on mine at some point and I think they're right on the money. I just can't stomach the price of stuff like KW V1's, especially given that the car doesn't do many miles.
  9. It was good mate, though I was disappointed we didn't manage to get more than one Corrado there! Unfortunately neglected to take any pictures this time around.. I ended up cycling into town (to avoid the traffic chaos) so didn't take my camera because of the bulk :(
  10. Visited the most excellent Coventry Motofest this weekend. Whilst there I got chatting to a guy who came up to chat about Corrado's. He was very good friends with a man named Tim Fry who designed both the Hillman Imp, and the Hillman Avenger. He owned the car right up until his death aged 68, back in 2004. The chap said that Tim "knew a good car when he saw one, and he loved his Corrado". He ended up moving the car on, on his behalf after his death, and it was sold at auction. Be interesting to know whatever happened to it. More information on the man available here: http://www.imps4ever.info/algemeen/fry.html Would have loved the chance to talk to him and learn more about what appealed to him, from an engineers point of view as he must have appreciated the car in different ways to most of us :)
  11. Worth talking to Jon at Stealth? He built a very high power turbo 12V VR6. Sure he knows a thing or two about building a stronger head. Schimmel Peformance sell all the bits needed for rebuilding a head to cope with more power as well :)
  12. Well deserved indeed :) Your Corrado is a superb example Darren.
  13. Like you say I'm pretty sure Flash Red wasn't available until the Corrado got the facelift? So if they're early wings, they should be tornado. Flash Red goes kind of orangey under really bright light so I'd take the wings outside on a sunny day (if we ever get any!!) and see how it looks?
  14. Hoping by the end of the month they'll have finished my engine rebuild so I guess you'll be next in line after me :) Good luck.
  15. In my experience those Nokia ones are getting to the age now where they seem to blow quite easily. I've replaced them several times in my Corrado's with other ones from breakers and they've gone and done the same again a few months down the line. Just replacing them with something better is the better option I think, if you want to listen to more than Radio 4 on your stereo.
  16. Well, hope this doesn't signal the end for your Corrado - I know how disheartening it can be having setback after setback when you've spent lots of money on the car! Good luck getting it all sorted.
  17. JBL used to do some replacements for those rear parcel shelf support speakers.

    £15k VR6

Bit optimistic on that price I think despite the crazy low mileage. Amazing that he hasn't bothered to sort the damage, fit the fuse box cover, etc etc. And as has been said, top asking money and a totally lazy advert.
  19. Interestingly they have (slightly fluffy and light on details) explanation of what happens to their 'deceased' battery packs: https://www.teslamotors.com/en_GB/blog/tesla-launches-battery-recycling-program-throughout-europe In short, some of the materials go into new batteries, and some of it goes into making a special type of concrete?!
  20. Hm - you're right, they're only 4" speakers in the dash and I got my wires crossed.... can't find my original invoice email with the details in. But even only 4" ones made a massive difference!
  21. I got excellent results in my old Corrado, when I replaced the puny dash speakers with some much heavier duty Infinity Kappa 5.25 inch speakers. It was a bit of a bodge installing them, but it can be done - and it's well worth it. It really seriously improved the sound stage up front. You need to get something low profile enough so that the standard grille covers still fit over (which I admit I had to butcher the speakers a bit as the ones I got didn't entirely fit) but it was a massive improvement. Something like these: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-ee75uL0wRxb/p_1085211I/Infinity-Kappa-52-11i.html
  22. Not interested but just clarifying - I think they may be different between the metal and plastic valve cover gaskets. Do you know which one this is for?
  23. It was always my understanding that only the lenses were different.
