So they are mate.. never noticed that!
-
If only everything in life was as reliable as a Volkswagen eh? :) Just kidding mate... sucks though as I remeber you only getting it sorted out recently. Time to go a bit more heavy duty this time I guess! :)
-
I updated it today mate.. :)
-
Yeah, now that DOES piss me off. Fair enough, we had a bit of a joke about the car, but it is someones pride and joy and they have spent a lot of time and money on it. The losers who go around keying cars... well, words can't describe how much that frustrates me.. you'd love to catch em at it, and then just break both their arms. You don't mess with another mans automobile!

Nice one mate :) I got mine fitted for £375 and that was me actually taking it to a place to get done.. it was pretty expensive but they were a well known local company, and they are listed as a Clifford official centre so I felt it was worth it :)
-
Not too sure... I have heard of these guys before : http://www.online-car-security.co.uk/ (GAP Security) But I can't be sure on the quality of the work they do as I have never used em, or don't know of anyone who has! Surely there must be a good local alarm fitters? Have you tried using the Clifford website to source a local fitment centre?

I found it funny but they said that it wasn't a nice looking car.. which is where I must be more of a retro kinda person cause I think the Quattro looks the mutts nutts even today. The front end also reminded me of a Corrado a litte bit.... :) Its a tough call - i'd either like the Quattro to be the best car of all time, or the Ford Mustang. Ford haven't really ever done much that impressed me a great deal, but I have always liked the Bullitt style Mustangs! :)

The wheels are ok, but even then they are 18" and I have never been a fan of jamming huge wheels into the arch.. I always felt 17's were the largest I would ever go (personally) on a Corrado, with 16's probably being the best comprimise with regards to looks and handling. I dunno.. the front end ruins it, the work on the car is good overall.. but the cheek of expecting 15k just seems to be the cherry on the cake you know?
-
I wouldn't do that.. it might seriously hurt his feelings as all we have done is rip the hell out of his car.
-
Indeed Kev.. just think what you could do with say a £1500 project car and over £14k to spend on work and modifications!! Full respray at Premier, MJ interiors full leather retrim, full engine rebuild + tweaks, BBS 17's, big brake conversion, quality suspension and all the ICE you could want. Whoever buys that for £15k is a plonker imho.
-
Well done mate.. nice price, and a very nice sounding car! Now you know the drill... get some pictures up in the gallery :D
-
Ah right.. just misread the post then... sorry bud :)

It was Darren (8vG60) who also liked the side skirts Roddy :D

I'll keep my eyes on this thread.. if that car comes up for sale, i'd be keen to know about it :)

Mike Edwards (also a member on here) emailed the guy : How shall I put this. While the cost of the mods you have done to this car may be high, if you want to realise this sort of amount you will probably have to sell it in bits. Generally speaking a heavily modified C is worth less than a standard C in the same condition. Good luck with the sale though And the dude replied with : What the hell are you on about, this car is no normal car. Oh well.. who else bets he won't see a single bid? :)

GTI International pics :D **NOW FIXED** [56k Beware!]

Altered the title a smidge to reflect that modem users might struggle in here. But thanks for the pictures! A really good range :) Recognise a few of those C's - can see Bill Aitkens (which as Roddy pointed out is a stunning car), John Munyards, and Paul Wills cars.. -
The amusing thing is that £15k is the starting price, and that he has set a higher up reserve price on the car. Horrible car.. I posted it to the egroup and was quite impressed by the number of reactions actually :)
-
Hehe... yeah, made a post about it the other day.. but it finally made it :D
-
Well, I appreciate that you might have the experience.. I am not speaking from my own experience, but rather from the rather large amount of people on the CCGB mailing list who have done the same thing and reported positive results.
-
Well I guess it depends what you actually want from your car... there are little mods you can do that will enhance a number of things, but it might not be worth doing mods if you don't have anything you particuarly want to change about the car!! :) An induction kit is a good buy for the VR6.. makes a superb noise when you stick your toe down.. should also give a slight BHP increase, and also better throttle response. But the noise is what you buy it for

I always found elephant dire for younger drivers... had a great result with More Than for my insurance this year. Its a bit of an irony that I always seem to get the best deals from the insurers people widely regard as being hugely expensive. Was with Direct Line for the past three years with both my Peugeot 205 and my Corrado.. tried phoning around the 'vw specialists' and CCGB reccomended insurers and they never came close. Tried about 10 different companies this year for the Saxo as well, and More Than were a clear £100 cheaper than the nearest. £612 fully comp :) Pretty crazy.
-
Very nice car mate.. the alloys suit your car really well! Great stuff!! :)

A bit premature Nige! I wasn't sure about this, but having never heard of it, didn't wanna jump to a conclusion. Did a quick hunt on the net for their website, and they explain all the information... http://www.gtechpro.com/gtechprocomp_howitworks.html (How It Works) http://www.gtechpro.com/gtechprocomp_accuracy.html (Accuracy Info) Looks quite cool, and quite reasonabley priced if you ask me.

Could the coilpack be on the way out?
