  1. what exact error are you getting for lambda? ,
  2. have you checked the fan wiring for any damage/splits?
  3. well I might look into fitting the 24v n80, the wiring for it does this come from the ecu plug?
  4. I have kept original 12v vr6 valve , its just not connected to intake , yea no sai for me although that was taken care of by united motorsports when I sent my ecu to them for removal of immo
  5. i had a whistling noise similar to yours , was a leaking inlet manifold gasket, basically wasn't tightened down properly!! so was sucking in air ..
  6. yep vac connections on manifold are blocked, at the time I didnt really think anything of it as I thought you could just delete these without any ill effect...
  7. mines running standard vr6 valve and left the tube open by the carbon canister, iv had no problems in regards to crap idle or bad running or anything like or any fault codes to assume otherwise, hot or cold start is also perfect,
  8. take a look at my thread in members gallery , should be a few decent pics from when I made the down pipe...
  9. cant belive this hasn't sold at this price yet!
  10. replace the temp sender for ecu to rule that out then it cheap enough that its worth a try, or if you got vagcom/vcds you should be able to find coolant temperature in the options , it will tel you the exact temp the sender is giving the ecu , then compare that with the actual temp, best do that from cold , i.e if says the coolant temp is 110 degrees you know its telling porkys!! as the engines cold, taken from the cooling guide Blue, 2-pin plug. VAG part number 025 906 041 A (about £8, plus O-ring N 903 168 02) ECU (always there)
  11. sorry but I had a little chuckle at this with sankys comment , all jokes aside that's pretty much the worst thing that could happen!
  12. could be the belt tensioner pully bearing although that wouldn't explain rough running, if you thread an M8 bolt into the belt tensioner {you will see a threaded hole for this} this will slowly release the tension of the belt and you can then remove the belt from the engine just take note of the routing of the belt, run the engine for like 10 seconds and see if the noise is still there, don't run it for long as the water pump wont be working! also spin the water pump by hand see if it feels rough, same with alternator lol didn't see your post sean ;)
  13. have you had a look at the big wiring harness plug at the right side of the engine? it twist's and then pulls apart, look for corrosion on the pins? or maybe try another set of injectors? blockage? , also it might be a good idea to update this thread with a list of the things that you have tried as its at 10 pages already , hope you get this sorted budd! I remember when I first got my corrado , it ran fine up until I washed the bonnet, after that it was hard to start and when it did the revs went up and down repeatedly then under driving it would just back fire and drive like Crap!!, a previous owner mentioned that it never ran right, basically it turns out that the MAF sensor wiring would allow water to run down into the maf plug!! depending on how wet/damp it got the worse it was, god knows how long previous owners put up with that for, luckily for me it was dry when I brought the thing back home! and thanks to this forum I found out what is was pretty quick..
  14. yea pretty close, just to the right of it..
  15. could be the hoses to/from oil cooler
  16. do your best to trace it back , maybe take a photo of it?
  17. idd say majority of that oil leak looks like its coming from the upper timing chain cover also crank seals leaking, good job though keep it up , its worth doing it right and then never doing it again.. p.s when removing the engine its much less hassle to leave the downpipe connected to the engine, just undo the 3 bolts from downpipe to cat and take it easy when rolling the motor out ;)
  18. I recon the 8k price tag would do a very good job of that ;)
  19. I was under the impression that these weren't serviceable? really don't know though iv never seen anything about these being stripped down or parts for them other then complete units, good luck tho ;)
  20. might be something to do with how its been mapped? don't know, maybe get it on a rolling road and find out exactly what the bhp is and then go from there
  21. fitted the mk4 expansion tank, I had to tap the metal bracket where the bolt holes are slightly with a hammer for them to line up with the tank as the tank bolt centers are slightly wider then the corrados tank and then cut a small section of the drain out with a cutting disc {makes no difference in structural strength} for the tank to sit closer towards the strut, replaced the cheap cap for a genuine one and that has sorted out the issues I had with the cheap one from B&B components , although there saying that you cannot test them the way I did and that they have never had a problem with them, funny how my old tank & cap and this genuine one doesn't allow lung pressure to pass through!!, found out that theres some 3 pin plugs on the mk4 engine harness that can be used on the tank, you just don't use the middle pin, I had a spare engine harness so I just used that, bottom tank hose lines up fine but the top one needs a little fettling , makes a huge difference being able to see fresh clean coolant!! wouldn't mind replacing some of the coolant hose clamps to replace the rusted ones along with getting rid of the jubilee clips, ill get some pics soon ish,
  22. think in the long run if your car is lowered then its worth changing to the steel sump, I don't remember hitting my new sump but its got score marks on it already, they don't take much to break compared with the steel ones which will just dent and not leave you stranded.
  23. your be fine , just use good quality drill bits along with cutting/drilling lubricant and don't let the metal heat up to much,
  24. yea mine was an absolute pig to do due to it being on the car and drilling from under the car wasnt fun but the new thread tapped good , a mm or 2 off center but worked well, with it being off the car you got it way easy ;)
  25. yes I had exactly the same problem m8, read here , do as mat says with drill bits. theres pics at the end of page 2 http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=55954&highlight=snapped+wishbone+bolt
