  1. i know engine oil additives are regarded as rubbish...id like to know if any of the gear oil additives are any good? ive re filled with redline syn oil , but if i can improove the shift or make the gearbox last longer then id like to try some anyone reccomend anything?? the box seems okay,maybe a slight whine if im picky
  2. anything thats makes it faster will slightly reduce engine life...the most common and best value mod is a new chip and pulley, although make sure your charger is in good condition first try snstuning.com for the chip..and 68mm pulleys are avail anywhere
  3. ive also got a 2nd hand set of weitecs and jamex springs....do you think theyd be better than voglands?? its just the expense of the tracking evertime i pull it apart :cry: youd have though koni would include top quality springs....from what you say theyre poo

  5. sam...are you liking the konis??? maybe bouncey is the wrong word.....it just seems im getting thrown around in the car from driving along poor roads, i mean ive had lowered cars before and i know you should feel bumps more but im like getting bounced out of my seat almost
  6. if your talking about what i think you are....its a clip to hold the nut so that you dont need a spanner on it, just turn the bolt!
  7. c&r also explained that theyre more like spring assisters than bumpe stops....you may find theyre really old and falling apart...make sure you use vw foam type ones , they said try it std length at first
  8. i spoke to c&r regarding cut stops on my konis( they seem bouncey )....he said use powerflex front -30mm and std vw rear, he did mention sometimes you need trim the rears 5mm at a time ,but it was unclear why you should trim 5mm at a time and when to stop ...he did say that because your lowering 30/40mm etc that doesnt mean cut 30/40 off at the rear
  9. i find my fuel cons with red inj good....prob a tad better than before, maybe the old inj were getting worn out

  11. i was of the understanding that the stops should be left std?? it seems roughly the same bounce just gets harder when aj the shocks
  12. okay...i ported it good and removed the bolt on lump....it doesnt seem any worse to drive and it feels like it pulls/revs harder through 5k-redline....i hit the limiter by mistake when i took it out so i spose its worth doing if youve got a dremel handy...just clean the bits out properly :mrgreen:
  13. i just got a koni t/a kit with the vogland( or whatever they are) springs that koni include...anyway it seems fairly bouncy,ive set the dampers around halfway any suggestions on the setting of the dampers?? it seems pretty hard as it is,and i cant really afford new springs

  16. i removed the cat on my g60....didnt make ANY differance at all...id leave it on unless its damaged
  17. sns tuning chip ,3.5 fpr and a smaller pulley (68mm is a good start)

    what spec??? whos charger rebuild.chip,ic etc???.....never had mine rolling roaded did they not comment on what the dip could be??....surley they would know if it was lean?
  21. im looking to maybe replace some vac hoses on the g60....is there a cheeper or better replacement??

    yeah...could well be lots of things, cant really afford to guess at whats wrong anymore at the time i asked around eveyone swore it was the hall sender...i spose it did improve a bit?

    mine dips about 5k....new dist etc, playing with the co pot changes a tad.....but im fed up messing with it btw...what spec is that?? it says around 200bhp doesnt it?
