Ah you need to be logged in to see the profile :( Any chance of making it open to the public? -
Have a look here, this was my battle with fuel pump problems... hope it will help you too: http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?58499-fuel-pump-filter-relay-few-questions
-
You replaced fuel pump under the car or the one in fuel tank? I had similar problems when my in-tank fuel pump misbehaved. Driving on full tank helped, but ultimately it was new in-tank fuel pump that fixed the very similar problem.

It's amazing how technology moved on, yet duct tape and wd40 withstand the test of time and are in probably 99% of all tool boxes :)

hehe that it some unique use for the product.

I don't get this statistics and people on TV news. They say that there is no rain?! I mean are we living in two different countries or what. Last time I checked England was only one on the map. I live in West Yorkshire and it rains every day, and if it isn't it's just about to! London is like 200 miles away from Leeds, is these 200 miles really making such a great difference to weather? Now I washed my car on Monday morning, and starting from Monday afternoon it was raining non-stop until now... and well it's still raining anyway. also doesn't look as it is about to stop any time soon anyway.... eh would love some sunshine...

Things you hate other people do to your car...
guildmage replied to guildmage's topic in General Car Chat
Hehe funny I always do the same thing too. ps. I know we all hate stickers, but maybe I should make myself one to put on my passenger door, saying something along the lines of: "I have a soul, please don't slam me!" -
I had another bad experience with passenger in my car... and I am not sure it is either me being paranoid or other people have complete lack of understanding what is happening around them! There is this new girl at work which live quite close to me, so in an effort to be nice and friendly, I offered to give her a lift after work. All was well, until she left the car... She basically slammed the door so hard I thought the window will fell off! I am not sure if it causes any harm to the car itself... but dear me I would not go to someone else's home and slammed the door like an idiot! Not too mentioned I did tell her like 5 mins before that this is a car of my dreams and I am trying to look after it as much as it's possible... well she still decided to slam the door with unusual force! On a different occasion I noticed that people treat the rear spoiler like a handle in order to open the boot of the car! From that moment no matter what I always try to exit the car first and will open/close boot on my own rather than let anyone else do that! I mean I know this is "just" the car and should not worry so much. In the end of the day it is my daily car... but would be nice if people show a bit of respect and understanding. Have you also got such bad experiences with random people? ps. Maybe I just remove the passenger seat .. and problem solved from now on?

Elsecar Mega Meet + UK Rallye Golf Show 2012
guildmage replied to macvwnut's topic in Event Announcements & Discussion
woo hey... it was a great show indeed. I liked it very, very much :) Cars, obviously amazing. Venue very good with inside "inside" and "outside" area, and as mentioned with some quiet cafes at the back. People? like best in the world... everyone I met at curry, or the show itself were simply amazing. I have no words to thank Judith and Kip for their accommodation and warm welcome at their place. Simply everyone was super friendly... kind of people you want to stick around... even the neighbours cat came to say hello :) I am not sure if I can be grateful enough... simply you all rock! Now then, I took "some" pictures... only uploaded fraction of them online.. there are just way too many of them so have a look here: [ PICTURES ] ps. StueyB thanks again for the wings -
But they will check surely for that? As it has to go ON with ignition and then OFF after few secs.

In 90's many taxi drivers in Poland were driving a certain type of Mercedes car (I cannot remember which model) but they were known for doing 500 000 km without a hickup, while very little maintenance required. Now try doing that with some modern cars! OK I really have to go back to work now ....
-
Yup, from sales point of view no car manufacturer want you to own a car for +10years! What they want is that you buy a new car every few years so that it can generate more money. I strongly believe it is possible to make a car that will last 10, 20, 30 years no problem... it was possible to achieve such thing 30 years ago... why not now?! well because car makers do not want that as it does not generate any profits. Just imagine how many parts you would have to buy in order to generate sales of one new car. Now then, if the new cars last up to 10ish years (probably less nowadays)... it is a pure profit for them, because most people will buy a new car, and yeah there will be few hardcore people who no matter what will keep their +20year old cars running but with parts going obsolete and prices going up... not many of them will be driving them as dailys.

Stop teasing us... shows us the goodies :) They look very nice btw...

It's sad that I had to buy Corrado to understand the true meaning of the word "obsolete" :(

Hi, Not sure if floppyman deal will go through but if not, I am interested in: -
Since I was almost empty and was passing empty petrol station decided to fill up anyway. Due to all this madness decided to fill up all the way, £65 less in pocket realised I have no wallet. I totally panicked, but rang work and my wallet was there on my desk. After 20 mins of total embarrassment paid for fuel, said sorry... and came back to work. Gosh... what a day, at least I have now full tank of petrol. Ps. Hmm bunch of truck drivers should not bring the whole country on their knees, should they? I still have my skates, so can skate to work if necessary :)

The "what went wrong with my Corrado today" thread
guildmage replied to huggy's topic in General Car Chat
I am loosing my battle with getting rid of all the squeaks and rattles... On my way to work this morning all was OK, parked outside of work (sun was directly towards my windscreen for most part of today - I'll explain in a a minute), work over, started car and noticed this quite annoying rubbery-like squeak.. coming from within drivers side dashboard. It seems to happen every time I go over a pothole, or even slightly uneven road! Even when I close my door it makes enough movement somewhere to squeak - and dear me it is loud!. It sounds like a bunch of mice fighting together, kind of rubber-to-rubber squeak? Where that can come from? All was fine for ages. Could direct sunlight could cause such behavior in my dash? To be honest, dash seems a bit "wobbly" and when I try to push/pull it, it makes that squeak sound. I mean this just manifested out of nowhere - my only explanation contact with sun (?!) but makes no sense. She is a 17+ year old lady, she had enough contact with sun so far. I am a bit puzzled by this. I am trying to explain myself that there is somewhere a loose screw/bolt that just undo itself causing dash to behave in such way... any insights? I was so thorough in eliminating rattles one by one... just to be faced with such a loud and persistent one... oh dear. I think Corrado is not a car at all! It is some sort of a life form on it's own, everyday it is a different one... sort of artificial intelligence that manifests from time to time in a completely random manner in order to weed out any weekly designed car owners! ... and I really do not want to be a weak car owner. [update]: This morning all the squeaks are gone, not a single one! hmmm I really do believe it was the direct sunlight making all the difference. Maybe it warmed up some rubber which soften up and in effect it started to squeak ? I am lost here... will keep an eye, but you see what I mean about my car having life on it's own. -
Replaced front indicators for the ones in far better condition (also replaced all rusted screws and checked bulbs) Touch-up painted few cracks on the front bumper ps. Was there any particular reason VW decided to use "non stainless steel" screws on things like headlights, indicators, etc... It seems really daft not to go with stainless steel in first place - I don't think it was to limit the cost, was it?

Late front wings... -
Taking your advice seriously, went to Hallfords on lunch today and bought a small dry powder extinguisher (£17). It's now placed behind passenger seat, I hope will never have to use it on my car.
