1. Looked around for such bulbs and seems there are 3 types: H1, H4 and H7. Checked spec on them and they all say 12V and 55W, so what is the difference? And which ones we should look for?
2. Just watching news on ITV channel, something about some events in Bideford and guess what showed up on TV: Anyone from here? if so grats, you have just been on TV :D
3. Leeds as of few mins ago, still snowing... it's good it started on weekend thought, at least people will have time to adjust till Monday morning.
4. Sorry for hijacking the thread, but I am also in need for such rubber. Is this part number: 1H0253147B correct for 2l 16v 1995. I have "Magnex Cat Back - XSVWC6", but when searched for above part number it is showing slightly different rubber design to mine. Mine looks like that:
5. hmm I'm also with 2.0 16v and when I bought the car it was 90ish preety much all the time, in traffic was going up, but the fan was kick-in to drop temp down. Then something happened (aka faulty thermostat) and I had constant 70-75ish temp regardless of my driving - but when stuck in traffic, temp was going up to 90ish. So I had thermostat replaced (as explained in this thread) and now it's all back to normal. It takes time to get to 90 but once at 90 it stays like that regardless of my driving, or me being stuck in traffic. Time will tell what is going to happen once we will hit proper hot days during summer. Also, fixing my temps had little impact on economy... yes I can see it showing me a bit more out of the gallon but its not amazing improvement. I still to do some long distance driving to properly check this out, cause my 2-3 miles to work are hardly any test at all :(
6. Hi, Welcome to forums and to point you bit more into what you are after, there you go: the_corrado_buying_guide_checklist.
7. "The color purple" - quite old movie from 1985 with Whoopie Goldberg first appearance and directed by S. Spielberg. It's one of the movies you either hate or love, I enjoyed it very much. Worth recommending, nice story with quite deep characters in it. If you're after such movie... watch it - it is a very well told story. Also watched "Predators" - which I believe is the latest installment of the series... and it is utter crap, seriously waste of time :(
8. Well I just had my thermostat/seal changed as per previous advise + new coolant off-course and it fixed "the-low-temp-issue" for me. Once temps climbed to 90ish it stayed like that when driving and slightly climbing when stuck in traffic. Happy again, cannot yet comment on economy as not enough driving since change... but will report back.
9. This afternoon, went to Castleford to pick my car from garage (after full service) and another Corrado was just there (VR6) which I believe belong to Critical_Mass. Nice car man... so I was first! As in seeing your car before you saw mine. .. later on when driving back to my home in Leeds, I saw another one (black? dark blue? - it was too dark to see). This time in Leeds at around 6pm, waved and got waved back. Even stopped thinking you will catch up, then you did but you were turning right and I got stuck in the left line. So I gave up chasing you Quite honestly I couldn't believe it... not seeing Corrado's for ages and then seeing two in like 30mins time-span.
10. Vag-com shows few ABS codes, but when trying to clear them out... it just says: "link error". Any ideas?
11. part no: Arm x2 - 8N2 955 408D Blade x2 - 8N2 955 425E .. yes they are piece of cake to fit. Some people suggested to cut the blade (as it's slightly to long) or bend the arm to stop it touching the windshield sill. However, I did none of this. Wipers work like a charm, sometimes, especially during motorway driving, blade is touching the sill making faint "tap" sound. But been running it for some time, and noticed no damage or even bruise on the edge of sill - so I am leaving it as is. Maybe one day will get round cutting off that blade...
12. Hmm I do exactly the same and also noticed people reacting in funny ways to it - some get right close to you, other flash lights. I suppose nothing can be done about it. For as long as they stay away from running into my rear they can do whatever they want. On a side note, in my old Focus I could drive through some of the Leeds speed bumps much quicker than in a Corrado without braking my back or my car in the process.
13. Silly question are 16V fuel tank straps the same as VR6 and g60 ?
14. Hi Neil, I'm not on the list for these emblems, though was showing interest and also rang you last week with my card details. I believe this just mistake and you remember about my emblem and few mounting "things". Thanks a bunch.
15. Thanks to fla for fantastic communication, delivery as arranged, discount, well packaging of goods and in general would recommend this guy in the future.
16. Hey, just wanted to say this happens to me all the time (at least 2 times a day - thought I troll the forums like hundreds of times a day, so it's still a small percentage). Also I use 3 different PC's (including one at work - so this got to be be server related as Jim suggested) It usually shows as ever loading page, then I'm seeing CloudFlare message about website being down - but if I try (from that message) the "live version of the site" it always loads fine straight away.
17. Hi Neil, Have you got any rear emblems left - can I have 1x "Rear VW Emblem - Black" ? Thanks
18. The other day I saw* a nice sticker on the back of the other car. It said in a very small font something along the lines of : "If you can read this, means we are either stuck in traffic or you are a complete moron - keep you distance!" * We were stuck in traffic :)
19. Hey, mine arrived few days ago I but I was out of the country so I get it today instead. All as expected, the envelope was bit "damaged" - but I bet it's from sitting and getting soaked in rain in my mailbox for few days. All-in-all very happy, thanks a lot for organizing this.
20. I thought that the black mats are gone by now... I will happily buy them off you.
21. Welcome to forum Max. Nice one, another Corrado in West Yorkshire, thumbs up and hope to see you soon. I'm from Leeds so not far away... ah and get more pictures :D
22. I shall do that then. This will have to wait till January as I am leaving country for xmas. Well there we go, another planned job incoming soon. Also, while replacing thermostat is there anything else I should be replacing while I am it it? ps. I believe, meanwhile, I am OK to drive as it is? I don't do a lot miles on daily basis anyway, just to work and back.
23. I had a very similar issue last week. Oil was leaking like mad and it was coming from top of the oil filter "area". It was the oil pressure switch that was leaking. It is placed at the top of the oil filter and had a rubber cap with cable attached to it. As soon as I took the rubber cap off you could see oil leaking like little waterfall, especially when engine was on. Took it to garage, they put new oil pressure switch, but I also requested oil filter change and also new oil... and problem is fixed now. When doing my research some people suggested it could be also leaking oil filter "o-ring" but in my case it was pressure switch. Sorry cannot be more helpful I am a total mechanical noob :(
24. Amazingly mine does exactly the same, thought it's not VR6 - must be the "Leeds issue" :) Will keep an eye on this thread.
