  1. After watching veeDuB's video I'd say the performance of my 16v is similar. It's hard to say exactly, as the camera isn't pointing straight at the speedo and the speedo itself cant be trusted, but Virtualdub makes the 0-60 sprint somewhere in the eight to nine second region.
  2. I take it back...720kg is seriously light for sure. The 0-60 time of nine seconds seems a bit on the high side though.
  3. What vid? The G40 I came across didn't exactly leave me for dust but it was pulling away for sure. We were already doing 60mph when it started so he'd have had an even bigger advantage off the line. The 16v Corrado is just not as quick as it looks...at least mine isn't. 600-700kg? I doubt that very much.
  4. They're not worth anything. Tell you what, have 'em ready in an hour and I'll pop 'round and take them off your hands. I'm nice like that :)
  5. Is your Corrado running a standard engine?
  6. Yeah, I got schooled by a G40 a few months back in my 16v. Not to be underestimated.
  7. I remember looking at one of those free Max Power CDs once. I've never forgotten the name of the DJ as he sounded so corny...Norris 'Da Boss' Windross. I definitely didn't a) buy the magazine or b) listen to the CD. Who knows he may be a decent DJ, anyone know of the chap?

    Mondeo v6

I think the Duratec engines are pretty good, and I'm fairly sure their the base engine for the Noble M12 and also found in the Jaguar S-Type - although in 3.0 litre form. I guess on the motorway it'd be a nice enough car to drive but sporty they are not!
  9. 1. Yes - 300W is far in excess of what the standard loom is rated at. There's a gromet easily accessible in the passenger footwell. You'll see the gromet on the firewall in the engine bay. 2. I'm not 100% sure on this but it sounds like it needs a live feed to fool it. If it were me I think I'd try it earthed first....or take a closer look at the instructions. 3. If you remove the passenger side dash undertray you can guide the stereo loom out of the way while pushing the head unit into the dash slot.
  10. I've always loved your car Furki, and it just keeps on getting better.
  11. I'd agree that it's a bit dodgy. If his intentions were clearer it'd be fine but it reads like a big scam.
  12. Well there are obviously a few factors involved here, such as age, years riding without a break, no claims bonus, etc. I'm 30, have held a full licence for 13 years with only three years out while at university, and have six years NCB. The R1 was brand new in March and worth £9400, group 18 (out of 18 ) and was £700 comp. The DRZ-400 is an '04-plate, worth about £3000, not sure what insurance group, but I'd expect about group nine, and is £200 comp. - about the same as the Corrado.
  13. Haha, nice find. I wonder what it went like with a turbo that big!
  14. The more I think about it the more I'm convinced I could live without a car. The bike is a 60mpg commuting weapon, costs bugger all to insure and tax and takes up little space. I'm pretty sure the cost savings of not owning a car would far outweigh the few inconvenient times when I have to borrow one from a mate. Definitely something to think about.
  15. £30 (12 months) for the DR-Z400 and quicker A-B than any car 99% of the time :)
  16. Someone stole the tax disc holder off my R1 when it was three weeks old. The Post Office wanted £7 for a replacement tax disc. I didn't bother for that very same "we don't need to look here, or here or even here" reason.
  17. That's too cool man..too cool.
  18. I've just seen this post while hunting for your username following today's crossing of paths. I've been to Clive Atthowe's in the past a few times for various reasons. I'll say this: he's clearly an enthusiast of performance cars and he's got some tasty motors around the place. However, despite advertising as a Bosch specialist he couldn't tell me a lot about the 9A injection system when I had a fault with a friend's car. With regard to rolling road tuning there I can't really comment. I've had a car on the rollers there but it was more for a baseline figure than for a tune. They seem competent enough but the whole 9A incident has knocked my confidence slightly. I'm not sure what other options there are in the area.
  19. I swear, the first time I clicked your link Firefox blocked a popup to some free smileys site or similar. It doesn't appear to do it now...curious! Maybe I'll sign up and show my support.
  20. I'm pretty sure you can buy the Hall sender part seperatly for those distributors. The Hall sender connector on my 1.8 16v has been flapping around for two years now. I'm sure it'll snap off soon too. P.S. I was gonna register on your forum veeDuB but then I noticed the pop-ups so I changed my mind. I hate those things!

    Brembo brakes

I wish my car was fast enough to require such stopping power!
  22. Rip that thing out. I hate alarms...they scare me.
