  1. My fitter had bother with the outer new seal so refitted my old one and it's not great, doesn't sit up in the top corners properly and pops out quite easy. At least it's water tight though. Oh wait, it's not even water tight lol. Will sort that myself though as there is no way it's coming out again.
  2. I'm sure they are fitted roughly above the crank pulley area so have a look there mate. I'm sure a new block would have them already fitted but you never know.
  3. http://www.rimluxe.co.uk This company do them with bbs centres but not cheap. I got a set direct from Lenso a few years ago for about 40 quid but just had their logo.

    Blue Smoke

Stem seals can cause smoke immediately after over run when back on throttle. Also worn exhaust valve guides. I'd try thicker oil first as a cheap solution to see if there is an improvement.
  5. Scotland will introduce the BBCAye Player. Problem solved.
  6. Nice one, reason I asked about the crank bolt as they are a prone failure point on G60's given the load that goes through the crank sprocket and must be specifically torqued as they're a stretch bolt.
  7. I'd be temted to do an accurate mathematical calculation on the fuel consumption. I've never and an old dub with an accurate mfa. Usually they over read.
  8. My G60 blew up the day after i got it too. Turned out to be a perished injector loom causing lean fuelling under load. All sorted now. You manage to get the correct crank bolt? PS - We need pictures lol
  9. Looks awesome. A tidier version of mine. Originality is the key.
  10. The thing with TG is that is highly inaccurate with alot of the stuff they describe as factual. Some of it blatant lies. It's good for a laugh and most of the editing and camera work on the supercar tests is the best in the buisiness but it's target audience has gone well beyond the simple car enthusiast. Not sure how we'd lose TG up here. BBC Scotland is quite big and also produces a hell of a lot of english made programmes so can't envision much of a change there.
  11. Surely they pay people to stand there to get others biting, surely that can't happen on its own. They need to prioritise and get their lives in order. Can they not pre-order it online using their iphone 5?
  12. Hail hail to that, everyone on there appears to be an expert all of a sudden lol.
  13. This video from a couple of years ago is his take on the mk2 golf in some sort of vw advertisement. Pretty impressive stuff. I keep meaning to take up drawing again but end up playing fifa or grand theft auto instead lol.
  14. I have a brand new outer seal and new side trims too if your interested. New windscreen came with a kit and the fitter also had another kit separate so just gave me it as spares.
  15. Cheap ass unreliable technology that nobody needs that'll go out of date quicker than a jar of hellmans or a v6 4mo to strip, tinker and generally get right in about. I Know which one I'd choose.
  16. Couldn't give a jot about it to be fair. Either way, we'll still all be humped by those who most still see as noble politicians. It's laughable some of the opinions and how mainstream medias propaganda machine has dictated them. As far as I see it it's the old divide and conquer being implimented and the further destruction of the pound. I'll not be voting that's for sure.
  17. Was actually leaking from the top of the windscreen on that side, small cavity in the bonding. I jist filled it with my own sealant and all is well. I think i may now actually have a water tight corrado now lol.
  18. Yeah unless the're perfect the're not fetching decent money just now unfortunately. Between 500-800 going by your description.
  19. Early or late buddy? VW Heritage do them with the indicators if you can find second hand ones. Th links for early one but late should be in there somewhere. http://www.vwheritage.com/vw_spares_Side-repeater-Amber-Mk1-2-Golf-Jetta-Corrado-Each-161949117_act_shop.product_pID_16378513.htm Edit - don't think there is any difference to early and late so ignore that!!
  20. I recently bought a bonnet cable off ebay for the rad and once in place it was 2 inches too short. They must have cut it instead of unscrewing the wee grub bolt. Luckily i used a bit of my old cable and joined it on the end using them copper tubes BT used for joining over head phone cables back in 70's. Oldman used to work for them. Works a treat now but still, people should always take care removing and shipping parts sold on ebay. Also bear in mind anything bought with 'buy it now' on the bay can be returned regardless of a lack of returns policy within a certain time limit.
  21. Got it all built back up yesterday and managed to get it in for a late mot. Passed with only a brake hose and the tyres as advisories. Gave it a wee polish too. Sills been sealed, stonechipped and painted. Still leaking water though, coming in via the top of the A piller trim on passenger side. Hopeful it's just a blocked sunroof drain but will check it out. My new coillies are rock hard so will be changing them sooner rather than later. Still got to fit my rear seatbelts and seats too. Gonna try get some G60 steels for it i think.
  22. Does it have a fan control module next to expansion tank. Also is the auxilary water pump run on with the fan? Sounds like a similar problem my early golf vr6 had.
  23. Cheers mate, yeah not something i've done before but they look almost new and didn't pay much. Got them off ebay on a 'buy it now' listing so if there knackered or whatever they'll be going back so no big deal really. Would certainly not pay list price for budget coils new. Will prob get some AP's on it next year.
  24. Windscreen now fitted. Looks great. Back to the sill.... What a pain rhis has been to get right. Managed to chop a section out a breaker further along the sill. Made things a bit easier. Then i relised part of the floor section wasn't great as moisture had got in. Once i'd cut that out I ended up cutting the whole lip off the bottom and welded a new section to the inner sill and then mated both panels to that. Then the rest was all fabricated and welded up so to get the correct shape where it meets the ottom of the wing. Bit more smoothing off. Some etch primer, seam sealer, stonechip and paint and hopefully it'll look good. It's amazing to think that such a little hole ended up with this much work. Picked up some cheap second hand coillies. I could probably be quoted more than once saying i wouldn't go down the cheap coillie route again but my current front ones are properly past their best and making some nasty noises. Also got one of these from Trimsport for the rear panel. Still got all the interior to fit and a few other wee jobs but hopefully get it mot'd and back on the road next week.
  25. Looks about right i'm sure mate.
