  1. Is your radiator support bracket still solid? It might be worth getting this sandblasted and powder coated while the radiator is out.
  2. I've been following this with anticipation for the past few weeks. I'm so pleased you have finally got her running. Good luck with the rest.
  3. Best to get a new one. A secondhand one could be weakened and crack or explode.
  4. An impressive range of cars, it is good to see a Corrado keeping such good company.
  5. Would a steel one be cheaper and easier to manufacture? With the limited use, our cars receive and provided it was properly treated at the factory it would last for years.
  6. It is difficult to say whether it can be repaired without seeing the damage. However it the blister is only a inch or so across I think it would be best to cut out all the rust and weld a patch in. Hopefully this can be done without removing the wing.

    Hi Skid,

Sorry for the tardy response, but I have only just seen this message. I did manage to resolve the radio reception issue by fitting a new inline signal booster. - from memory this cost about £5 from ebay. Having read around the subject, I believe that the original radios VW fitted had a built in booster and a lot of aftermarket radios do not. I was looking for an oginal Sony cd radio for mine, but in the end I found a very nice Nakamichi with a green display that fits the Corrado very well. I hope thathat helps.

  8. I think you would struggle to replace that for less than £10k. I insured mine with Footman James and they didn't require any supporting information for the valuation. Previously I had insured through Lancaster and they wanted photographs copies of invoices etc.
  9. It won't be mine as I received a similar email. A shame because I was looking forward to my 5 minutes of fame!
  10. Pursue the insurers. You are in contract with them and not Autoglass.
  11. I'm sure alarms were dealer fit items. Mine had a Conlog but some dealers fitted a Simba alarm. It might be best to get an alarm engineer to remove your alarm as I know a lot of us have had problemswith the original alarms.
  12. I can't keep up with all of these.
  13. Just reduced to £6000 and open for offers.
  14. The black VR6 with circa 40k mileage sold off an asking price of £14,000. It was sold to the dealer by someone on hre for just over £10k.

  16. I've just had a look at your advertisement and it looks a solid car, although work is required to tidy up the body. In order to help the sale, I think it would be useful to include a few more photos. Perhaps on of the engine bay, the interior showing the driver's seat and the boot.

    Vr6 wanted

A great looking Corrado at a fair price.
  18. Option 2. Why not find out the condition of the cylinders before commiting to the work. If the rest of the car is in good order and worth preserving you will not diminish its value by changing the engine, especially a nonstandard one.
  19. This one sold a few months back for £11,000 plus a buyer's premium. Its badges were also on the wrong side! http://www.classiccarauctions.co.uk/1995-vw-corrado-storm
  20. 3 cylinders seem to be the way forward.
  21. You could try one of these. An OEM look and probably far more robust than the Passat option. http://www.ultimatecupholders.com/fischercupholder.html
  22. I am a surveyor and have dealt with a few of these claims. In order to claim adverse possession you would have to fence the land off and maintain it. You would have to show that for at least a 12 years you used and maintained the land without challenge from the owner before you could commence claiming title to the land. If the land is a registered title (in this case it almost certainly is) it is even more difficult as the owner is entitled to counter claim against you. By all means give it a go, but don't spend a fortune on the fence as I expect you will asked to remove it by the Council.
