1. Hi Chris, did you find out whether you have that small piece of trim for the boot?
2. Strikes me as a very reasonable price especially as the car has the kudos of appearing on TV! It doesn't look perfect but at least a lot of the heavy lifting has been done so the new owner can spend his time with a bit of fettling.
3. Six points seems a little harsh. You'll have to spend 3 years pottering around to avoid any more points. On the bright side at least they are backdated to the date of the offence so only just over 2 years to go.
4. Thanks Chris.
5. Hi, I wondered whether anyone could help me locate the small piece of trim I have circled in red. The spring loaded striker in the boot lid closes against this. My car is a 1995 model. Thanks
6. I can't help but, I had the same system in my car. The alarm started misbehaving, sometimes the siren would go off when I was driving and other times it would lock the car as soon as turned off the ignition. I decided to cut my losses and have system replaced with a new alarm. The old alarm was obviously drawing a lot of current as I no longer have to keep charging the battery.
7. Silver hair a Thermos and a long queue of traffic behind you on the coast road at the weekend!!
8. A civic would be a good choice. They are often owned by the elderly and therefore will have been meticulously serviced by the main dealer.
9. What ever you buy, check out the vendors before you commit. If they live in a nice tidy house and the car is kept off the road the chances are they will have looked after their car and serviced it properly.
10. The lowest Mileage Corrado I've seen. Not even 1500 miles a year!

Front End Respray

Before you rush to them I should point out They are currently very busy, they won't deal with rust and if there are are dents or dings in the panel (which there will be) they charge £55 to remove the first dent and £40 every dent thereafter. When they carried out paint correction on my car they found numerous dents along the flanks caused by careless door opening in car parks. I am having a couple of small areas of rust on the wings removed, where the wheel arch liners are secured by screws. I am using Pluckley Coachworks, but will get KDS to Carry out paint correction at a later date.

Front End Respray

For a top quality re spray I was quoted £200 a panel by KDS in Gillingham, Kent. I'm sure it can be done cheaper, but generally you get what you pay for. I'm sure your Rado deserves the best.
13. Both these could well be usable examples but they are far from perfect. IMO they both require extensive paintwork rectification and probably a respray. The top example's engine bay looks a bit of a mess and the battery is missing. I note it is also advertised with airbags! Sorry for the overused cliche but 'you should always buy the best you can afford' unless you are specifically looking for a project. I can easily see the top example costing upwards of £5k to get 'fixed up' at a garage to bring it upto similar standard as the Blackberry.
14. Good luck with the sale. In my view it has got to be worth every penny. Unfortunately there is hardly any evidence of sales at this level simply because hardly any come to the market. As delfinis38 says try the market. Hopefully you will be pleasantly surprised.
15. There is a reasonably tidy one available on ebay. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/281757144523

seat repairs

I have used a company called Trimline Systems. I believe they operate on a franchise basis so I'm sure they gave a branch near you. They stitched in a new side panel to my leather seats and repaired some holes in my dash caused by the figment of a mobile phone. Their work was so good it is imposible to see where the repairs were carried out.
17. Getting a MOT and a fresh service would help with your marketing. It would show that the car is in a driveable condition and at least show prospective purchasers that they can drive it away and enjoy it, rather than making a trip direct to the MOT station with all the uncertainties that could bring. It may also be worth getting the dents repaired.
18. The sunroof grease is still available from VW for £28.99. My local branch don't hold stock, but they can get it in next day from Milton Keynes. I wonder how many of the other sunroof issues have been caused by using the wrong lubricant?
19. The original dealer fit alarm caused me loads of problems. Since it has been replaced the battery retains its charge.
20. I think the mics are so good these days, It probably doesn't matter where they are positioned. I had a Volvo and the built in mic was behind the sunvisor!
21. Mine was on top of the a pillar. It is easy to get the trim off and hide the wire.
