Took the upper inlet manifold off to get to the leaking rocker cover gasket. This car is being spoilt at the moment. I just need to decide whether to paint/polish or blast it.....and to get the injectors refurbed whilst I'm at this point.

Glad it's not just me.

Changed the VR belt tensioner, runs just like the old one!! Damn

The "What you bought for your corrado today" thread...

Found this unused thread.... Got to be worth adding to

Took the front end off the car to replace the coolant hoses, thermostat housings and sensors, crack pipe and radiator. All fitted after being flushed out and topped up with VWs finest coolant and distilled water. There was only one hose I have been unable to get hold of but that one seems fine. And to make me feel better after having spent daft money on the parts, a pipe to the oil cooler had torn, so I have justified doing them.. maybe. Crack pipe:-After reading lots of threads about it being a pain, I took my time blocking up then cleaning where it fits in the block. It looked good, so I smeared some rubber grease(moly grease) that I had for the sunroof, on both parts and the fit was good. A Corrado Miracle for once. Most of it is back together but I intend on getting the fan shroud powder coated whilst it is off. So no fans but I let it get up to 90° and all seems fine. Fingers crossed for no leaks overnight

So, Damn damn damn damn damn. Whilst trying to clean out my fusty coolant bottle, I've managed to break it. Not happy If any of you kind people have one hidden away, I am happy to pay with the Queens coins. Oh and needed pretty soon as this was supposed to be a quick coolant job. Aghhhhh

I've been to TPS today who said it has been superseded to the D. It just seems strange that doing an Ebay search does bring up aftermarket B parts. And that is the only 4 pin sensor fitted, definitely only 3 sensors in there with no space for another ! and no issues with my fans working...

Old thread, but I thought adding my coolant sensor question may help others if I get an explanation. So, I have just changed the coolant thermostat regulator housing on my late VR. 2 pin black sensor 2 pin blue sensor 4 pin yellow sensor.701-919-369 B. (36-94) Here is my query..... The Wiki guide mentions 701-919-369D Black(29-18 ) and this is what TPS supplied to me as Etka says I should have the D Version. As I have the diavia air con fitted, is this why I have the B version fitted? It definitely has different numbers on the side and I don't want to fit the wrong one. It all worked fine, I was just replacing all parts to ensure longterm reliability. All help greatly appreciated

What is Santa bringing your Corrado for Xmas. (And cars name please)
Cressa replied to Cressa's topic in General Car Chat
It's always good seeing your progress mate. Santa brought my Karmann a gates belt tensioner and rear disc backing plates. Also a couple of useful threaded bars that help when putting wheels on. -
£15 via a PayPal direct debit on the 16th for me by car ventures. I too believe it is for this forum. Maybe you have to pay double as a special Corrado Hoarders tax ..... I hope you've had a good xmas mate, and your new years resolution is Not to buy everything up this coming year
-
I hope everyone had a great xmas. Tomorrow is hopefully changing coolant hoses and radiator etc.!! I wish you all a seasonal relaxation

Welcome to the greatest Forum in the world. I put some Eibach springs on the standard shocks to make it look slightly more sensible. If you do this make sure you get the correct spring plates as they do an early and late version, which is actually dependant on the spring. Enjoy the car and Forum mate Cressa

Just started it up for an engine warm as it sits in the garage. First turn of the key, so always happy with that

The Bentley manual is a great Bible and well worth purchasing. And as it is the size of the old yellow pages, you certainly won't lose it. Masses of info

I couldn't get the time off work, gutted. Enjoy mate and let us know how it is

Ask VW Heritage. They can check if available/ classic parts. Or do you want a 2nd hand part?
-
As the super link suggests, check the connections then go looking for a break at the weakest point... the seat elements. The buzzing does suggest a poor circuit possibly caused by high resistance ( bad joint) Seat out job I reckon... Good luck

I've just checked mine. I only have a single red wire and a single grey wire.

I've just bought a Hella one off ebay from JD Motorsport for less than 100 pounds. Delivery tomorrow so I'll let you know if it's good. Although my old one isn't off yet to 100% compare to.

I like the advent calendar idea, but I couldn't bring myself to open and spoil it !!! Yet I love owning the Corrado sign -

I've probably got the broken sunroof part in my garage somewhere. If not I do have a new item under my pillow next to a handgun. (only kidding about the handgun)
