https://www.autopartspro.co.uk/brembo-7779969 Hummm says not for ABS though. Must be correct though as matches part number.
-
I saw some nice brembo callipers with the same spec somewhere.
-
What I would do is choose a more common car on the list that matches the part number for the calliper and then search for that on ebay and see what comes up.

On the diagram No 9 for the 35i AAA Passat ones. 288X25 5/100

Good thread here. https://www.clubgti.com/forums/index.php?threads/the-mk4-brake-upgrade-sizes-info.260016/ Could be wrong but I think you just ask for a piston for a single 54mm . All the same I Imagine. Also the picture could just be an illustration I Imagine the important bu=it is on description 54. .
-
I cant see no piston on the diagram either so assume as mentioned it is part of the calliper.
-
Seen some ni Think that just indicates left or right it still has the 54 stamp on there mate. Have a good look through the pictures on here mate . VW Passat 35i VR6. You can see the 731 stamp. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-Passat-35i-Audi-Brake-Caliper-Front-Left-54-731-ATE/133132959856?_trksid=p2485497.m4902.l9144 If someone has the MK4 calliper if they give me the model and age of car they were from I can show a diagram. Above is a link to all the vehicles that the callipers in question were fitted on.

There are some ready to ge here. Not sure if its for both or just one side - also a part refund if you send your old ones back. https://www.onlinecarparts.co.uk/ate-7005804.html

Great upgrade for sure I'm on the stock set up grrrrr.
-
Best thing for him to do is google the calliper part number and look at images and markings on his existing callipers compared to a stock calliper.
-
Just go with the part numbers cant go wrong that way- the piston is part of the gasket kit mentioned above. 3A0698471 (If purchased from VAG not sure about aftermarket). If you have upgraded to 288 brakes you need not worry about parts because of the wide density of use throughout the VAG range.

Ok here is a diagram for a 1996 AAA vr6 passat Hope this helps. Front ATE http://www.oemepc.com/vw/part_single/catalog/vw/markt/RDW/modell/PA/year/1996/drive_standart/147/hg_ug/615/subcategory/615035/part_id/3688262/lang/e Rear Lucas http://www.oemepc.com/vw/part_single/catalog/vw/markt/RDW/modell/PA/year/1996/drive_standart/147/hg_ug/615/subcategory/615060/part_id/3688262/lang/e Your front callipers came on these cars Front are ATE and rear are Lucas. Click the correct country of origin on top of page - in your case I would click USA - came on a beetle and Golf so should be a piece of cake to source and probably available from dealers still . Cars it came on plenty of choice on RHD UK models but also plenty of choice on USA models. Model assignment of ATE calliper Left 3A0615123 Right 3A0615124 http://www.oemepc.com/tvn_result/search/tvn/3A0615123

Wish I could help but its the part of the car I have not really explored because vince sorted mine out, said one of the callipers was seized. Does look like Big red is the the man in the know. However here is a part diagram with part numbers of individual parts on front and rear brakes. . If you put the part number of the said part in question in search on oempec it will bring all the model of cars from VAG issued from factory with the same part number. There are changes in parts in relationship to the year of manufacture , next to the part number says from year to year etc but go from your chassis number. Front http://www.oemepc.com/vw/part_single/catalog/vw/markt/RDW/modell/COR/year/1995/drive_standart/76/hg_ug/615/subcategory/118000/part_id/3688262/lang/e Rear http://www.oemepc.com/vw/part_single/catalog/vw/markt/RDW/modell/COR/year/1995/drive_standart/76/hg_ug/615/subcategory/119000/part_id/3688262/lang/e

Very good solution and looks correct.

Yeah same here, I was thinking of asking Renewart to make some Motor Sport caps, but they won't be cheap, Ill Unless somebody knows an outfit that can make some ? Tigerfish are the Vento cups a direct fit without spacers etc because the offset is 35 compared to stock 43. I imagine the extra inch width of the alloy compensates.. Any rubbing on the arches cause by th extra width of 1 inch of the alloy. Cheers.
-
Interesting, decisions decisions, I wonder how the wider tyre affected the weight of the steering Dave ? Cheers.

Heritage love cheap parts with a high markup and people assume its quality because they sort of think it's VW , I really hope a Dealer starts doing business with VW Classics at some point, quicker delivery and in house knowledge. Send it back if possible still in packaging say wrong part or give me credit, you never know mate best of luck. They shouldn't be selling this junk if good quality parts are available or have a budget or quality option instead of describing all products as TOP QUALITY. .

Ok mate told Vince you got a JP gasket and said they are SHITE. Don't do it to yourself ha. I had a run in with a new JP mas sensor, after changing the fuel pump and having the injectors refurbished it came to light that the new JP sensor was causing a mixture adaptation fault code- all cured by putting the Bosch sensor back on- my fault cheaped out as thought oh JP must be good as branded as a Danish company. Wrong !
-
OK Vince says as above only uses Reinz or Elring . Think from memory Murray Direct do them off ebay just make sure you check its the correct assignment as I think there is a part number change over for the gasket set depending on year of model . Not 100 percent sure though.
-
I will ask Vince at Stealth for you , it is just a piece of thin metal but it's the quality ingredients that make up the quality and manufacturing process I imagine. I always try to get Elring then Victor Reinz I think it's called.
