I have seen other high end cars in LHD from Japan to be fair though.. This is a prime example of a high spec car from Japan with Brabus. Have a read of the add how expensive these cars where back in the day. Good 15k more then a Ferrari and rightly fully so a much better engineered car . Would be a 2.8 if imported from the USA ?- might of been a USA soldier based in Japan that imported it from Germany because they wanted the 2.9 block but never ended up taking it back to the States.

Yes epic spelling mistake B is next to N on the keypad meant cubby , my eyesight is getting awaful since I turned 40 a few years back and really bad with screen glare. I thought it was RHD in Japan- how come its LHD that is also a mystery.

Thanks for the photos the steering wheel alongside been an airbag also looks a lot better quality then a stock wheel , have a look at the front grill has your front 3 slat grill got three openings or one ? Picture of the cunny hole a gearstick area ? The Japanese who have money when importing cars in the 80s/90s go full out, the amount of Hi specced Mercedes I see from Japan with ultra rare AMG parts are unbelievable. Cheers.

She was great mate compared to my normal parts go to , not sure if they use another system then Johnsons, but she was rapid and couldn't do enough to help. They also do the best rates for leasing new VW . Johnsons don't post either and like you to come in and pay/collect, also tries to slime me by not putting my discount on- will be using Listers S.Avon in the Future. Tanya was also telling me that a Corrado owner who uses them a lot went in there for some obsolete clips and her Husband(also works there) was that disgusted that an ebay user was trying to charge £50.00 that her husband did a 3d print for him- now that going the extra mile.

That's the baby! There is a 2.8 strip decal as well that is higher on the thread I posted , so they might of stuck them to AAA engines as well. Would be a good piece to get a 3d copy but agree wouldn't want to risk cracking it taking it off.

This is the last Vin WVWZZZ50ZSK004043 , so mine is i 1595 to come off the production line last. Wonder who has the youngest one out there . Sure I think its a Storm in the VW museum and top gear did a production of it from memory.

Sorry the sticker is on the left side of the cam cover as looking into the engine bay- not unusual for it be missing as only a sticker. The ABV stamp though as Sean says is pretty rock solid and also accompanying documentation.

Sure its an ABV. interesting to see the quirks of a Japanese car , your car last digits are S 1010 and mine is S 2448 so not a million miles away from each other on production. Is it fair to come to a conclusion now that these engine strips came on Japanese cars - the Japanese Yanase dealers might of even put them like UK dealers put the Storm badges on. Does anyone know what was the last production chassis number for a Corrado is ???

Can see ABV- have you got a picture of the sticker mate if its still there. Its bizarre that they didn't just put a DOHC cover on there - I think it looks good though the red 2.9 trim.

Are you 100 percent your car is an ABV 2.9 mate- have you got a picture of the engine number on a sticker on the side of the block next to the airbox and fuel lines.

Be interesting to know is the car complete and still with the owner.

Good find think his car was from Japan . I have looked at all markets and there is only one part number for a Corrado VR6 engine trim and that is 021133286E'. I have seen errors and also parts that are missing off these diagrams in the past though.

You can see on the link below you could buy one new. Not sure if it was early or came in this form in different countries. Yep 2.8 trim AAA and 2.9 DOHC ABV- and Ford has ugly V6 trim. Would be good to know what that trim is off that has been stuck on the engine trim on first picture on thread - might not even have been an original vag part. It looks to me like a side rubber decal that runs alongside of a car behind a fender. Or might well have been an engine trim decal.

Galaxy had a cover with ford and V6 on it .

IMO it is not factory and the strip although OE at some point has been glued on.

Dox you are a genius - I think it is a decal from the side trim of vag VR 2.8 and the 8 had been changed into a 9 and stuck onto to the trim 😀

Dont worry Dox when he sees how much a 2,9 trim sells for he will love the little AAA cover ha.
