The alloys still have racing tyres on nankang. They get to see three races and changed out at £175.00 per corner.

Hi guys, I was privileged to collect these last week off Andy from Classic Vento 96 team from Aylesbury. You might recognise a certain young someone on the first photo. Andy is an engineer from the race team and use to work for Gemini racing who use to mod the parts from VW Motorsport for the Vento Teams . He is going to send me an email with loads of interesting facts about the parts sourced from VW Motorsport and the racing teams and I will share on here. What I have been told there were only 20 teams and they were released 4 or 5 sets of the Vento speedline cup alloys which were a one off commision order from VW Motorsport to Speedline in Italy, this is why IMO they are the Holy Grail of Corrado alloys as they have VW motorsport history and rarity. . So with at least one third of these alloys damaged because of racing I imagine there are only an estimated 50 sets left in the world and maybe a few more as they were also on the MK3 A59 prototype(never went into production) as mentioned by Dox earlier on this thread. The Race car is still in top condition after a full restoration and now has a R32 engine and a Carbon trim - amazing ! Below pictures of car it came off and also the alloys and markings which I can vouch are the genuine article. Please note that Andy has 2.8 rebuilt engine block with aux and tuned ECU that Stealth did for sale. It also has a extremely rare Gemini head(with stamp)- its pumping out 210 BHP. Please email and I can get you in touch, No more alloys left Im afraid guys. I will be getting some Motor Sport caps made and reverting them back to Silver. Car they came off. TThe

Good stuff mate. If you get stuck I can give you a link for 2 new Recaro seat looms ready to go.

Think some of the parts your after are obsolete. There is VW international as well. Agreed I only buy OE parts from heritage as their aftermarket products seem to be all Crapran (Topran) and JP. Much better if obsolete if you can get Bosch- Lemforder or perhaps Febi, although I do think Febi lives a little off its association to Bilstein and probably not great either. . Murrays Direct on Ebay has some quality parts at a fair price, I use them when they have it in stock and they also supply a very good delivery service.

Handbrake trims look not so luxury coupe on a Corrado and very plastic and also getting a hard to find part I have heard MK4 golf leather handbrake trims fit like a glove so purchased one of these in good used condition for a tenner inc postage to test fit. Part number 1J0711461A

Hi, Due too many been stuck at home due to this horrific virus, boredom is sure to set in. Can folks leave a good link to a good programme/ boxset/ netflix or youtube channel. Does not have to be car related. I'll start it off. Great channel on youtube- pretty much a genesis working on classix exotic classics. .

Thanks Fla hope all is well mate. Ok spoke to Vince on Monday about the spark plugs and he hates NGK spark plugs as he said he has had over 70 cars in his garage for misfiring and the diagnosis was a premature failed NGK plug so he only uses Bosch. If you watch the campaign model on the car guys review on youtube the Rado rattles more then the Talbot sunbeam stripped out ha !
-
Thanks mate much appreciated. One thing I find bizarre is even though the Corrado is built better then the golf it don't half rattle in the interior cabin of a Rado, all the videos that I see of them you can hear the cabin rattling- the interior 100 percent in a Mk2 golf is less ratley .

Thanks chap the thought of going through the renovations again turns my stomach, the first day I got the golf back from the body shop no kidding a 60 something lady nearly rear ended me, she was not paying attention and I could see her in my mirror, literally brakes screeching and a foot away, the next turning I pulled over because I did not trust her driving and gave her the look of utter disgrace and a lack of respect. Is the Mk2 golf giving any previous owners an itch to getting in to one again ?

Ok not corrado related but thought I would post some pictures of the dreaded taking off the bumpers, arch trims and sills off a MK2 golf GTI 30 years old. The car was in very good condition bar a couple of cracked arch trims and a scab on the tailgate next to the rear wiper jet. Also had a crack where the door hinge meets the door and a scab which I was aware of. The pictures will explain better than words what they found. There was one unexpected bow in the sill after they took a sill trim off and was an expected large kerb collision in a multistory car park grrrr. After the car paint had cured stone chap and underseal to the whole underside including the external arches which are covered buy the plastic arch trims. I highly recommend the body shop . He himself has owned a MK2 golf for 20 years and a present has a road going race track Mk2 golf with a VR pumping out 400 + BHP with forged Internals. His right hand man has a Blackberry Corrado VR with a supercharger and is actually a member on here. It's nice to take it somewhere that know how the trims come off the car and glass . Limits cracked trims etc and also they ordered additional parts I missed out like sill decals which I appreciated as most would not bother. If anyone wants the contact details of the shop PM me as I have not asked his permission to post his details. Job took 80 hours labour. They supplied me over 50 photos without me asking of work in progress. Car has already been to stealth for head gasket, full geomaterics, fuel lines, sensors and a host of other things.

I not long took all my bumpers off and and arch trims and sills , It was hiding a multitude of sins but thankfully all sorted now and got the new bumper brackets and the Irons powder coated and a big bill from the body shop0 cant thank them enough for a great job. I will post some pics up on my thread black magic as not to clog up your thread. Cars looking mint Saturn silver is up there as one of my favorite colours for a Rado and really suite the Nothelle alloys. . Excellent car on every basis.

Update. Hi Buddy. As you can imagine the auction was a balls up with everything going on. Bonhams did a press release on the Saturday to say it was cancelled then changed to online sealed bids etc.... So in the end we had a couple of stupid offers and I think on the whole most people were put off or (understandably) distracted elsewhere. So she still remains for sale. Privately at the moment. So we shall see. I therefore still remain the owner of one of the rarest VWs on the planet! 😉

Would be nice to know A . Did it sell ? B. How much ? Could be some right bargains out there soon - wouldn't be surprised if you can get into a 964 2 shortly for 30K.
