  1. Ya... Thanks to all of you for pitching in. I won't risk it and live with it I think.... Cheers!
  2. Ummm with tonedef comment, I'm not sure I want to give it go now! I'm pretty sure the windscreen I have is the original one. It's just the two side border strips that have a couple of cracks in each. Maybe I should just let it be...
  3. Alright! Thank you very much. So there's not really a way to find out until I try to pull it off then. I'll order both sides and give it a try. Cheers!
  4. So I cleaned up several mm of dust over my windscreen, looked pretty sad! I noticed on those border strips, the side ones, there's a couple of cracks in them. I'm wondering if it's something that can be simply removed and replaced because it's just a "tight fit" or if those borders are glued down and the only time you can change them is when a new windscreen is fitted? Thanks a lot!
  5. Dox, can you educate me more about those late rotors please? Until I read your comment, I never knew or read anything about that? So early MK3 need spacers but not late? Why is that and from what year is considered late MK3? Thank you!!
  6. Just read the brake part of it. I do think 288 calipers is a must and can be considered OEM+. Better brake, still same fit that's pretty good! Yes, the other components are getting old so you can't expect today's car braking but it's a simple upgrade and not really costly which is rare on a Corrado. I would upgrade to stainless hoses for I slightly better braking. Rubber hoses absorb some of the brake fluid pressure by somewhat inflating. With stainless it goes straight to the piston for maximum pressure. it's not night and day difference but I'll take anything that adds up to a better braking system. Keyo, since you like oem parts. Did the MK3 GTI in UK came with front oem red calipers? Here yes, sometimes a see sets of brand new old ones going for $400 cad = £240 Just a thought! Cheers
  7. Thank you very much, that's all I needed to understand how to remove them. It's always stressful to improvise on the Corrado!
  8. Wow mate, you are really making it look brand new! That interior is coming up nicely, looks like a lot of work. I did noticed some nice things going on: TT wipers, carbon fiber by the windscreen. Love those mats, spoonfed? I also really like the steering wheel! Cheers
  9. Mate, you have the best combo! I'm LOVING that GTI! Also like Fla said, those wheels are wry nice and I do too lime concave over convex. For some reason, they didn't look that way but you can clearly see it with the picture from the rear. Cheers!
  10. Thanks Bruno for that valuable information. No, I'm not going turbo and just want to put the engine back in order before it goes back in the car. My line of thoughts was maybe it wasn't a good idea to reuse it but that was me assuming without knowledge. Looking at the rubber part, there's 3 fine little cracks in it but that's it. Since there's nothing else, I'll reuse this one and call it a day. Thanks for your time!
  11. So I'm wondering what do you guys uses for crank pulley since they're NLA? About to prep my block and this is the only thing I can't find. I don't want to use billet, oem one would be nice but... What's my options if there's any? Thanks!!
  12. Thank you Keyo for the precision.i did see it was made for 30 car models including the MK2. So ya, I think you're right and Heritage will come up with those again.
  13. Found this guy who made the file for 3D printing. You can download it and make them if you have that kind of printer: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1982867 But also on Heritage website, it's saying available in 2 weeks, could that be true? https://www.heritagepartscentre.com/eu/191823713-bonnet-filler-piece.html
  14. Thanks to both of you! Yes, I guess I could maybe by a block of foam and try to cut and sand it but the result would probably be so-so knowing my sculpting skills! I guess someone with a 3D printer could make it happen? The only way I can see to remove it from the bonnet is to pry of the metal tab that holds it to the bonnet, correct? Found the part number from 7zap: 191 823 713 Cheers!
  15. Today I was looking at my bonnet while working on the car. I noticed these pieces of what looks like hard foam on both sides of it. You can tell they are old... I can't see any part number or else, do any of you mates know if it's something that can be replaced? Cheers!
  16. Wow great job! It's quite more work to fit that I ever imagined. You would think no modifications on things like bonnet, rad, brackets were needed as well. Need determination and patience to make it happen! Very nice to see the progress and keep up the good work!
  17. Car looks fantastic! I does appear a tad lower at the rear. Optic illusion or not it's hard to say from here!

Oh I'm totally with you and I understand. That said, I'm more of a 964 or 993 ha haa But even if you're right in your thinking and you are. The rarity of those 2 you have and never mind the condition of them on top of that makes them unique and so rare. Something you wouldn't get with the other one. There's also a kind of proud feeling owning those as we know how much work and searches goes into them. I guess it's a passion and it's not always straightforward and lucrative but like love it's one of the best thing to have, passion. I know these days in hard times, I'm glad I have a passion to forget sometime what we are living in and I'm thankful to the friends I met down the line who I talk to about the same passion, makes you feel alive.

Oh absolutely... Remember 20 years ago on eBay it was people selling their home made stuff or old stuff. Now it is a sophisticate business...

Ya, I'll keep looking locally as it is probably my best bet at this point... Thanks mate! Just need to be patient which I am. I'm starting the search now as I would need it in a year or so when the car is ready...

Amen to that, totally agree. And thank you for your comments about mine much appreciated. I do agree with you the community of real enthusiasts is very nice and kind. And yes, the Americans not to generalize but bad mods are plentiful.... I don't think you can sell yours, at this point it's a legacy, a icon even.

The fact that we leave in a world wide market changes things too... $3000 for me is a lot as Canadian but that amount in the UK is not so much... Never mind £3000, It's over $5000 CAD and the average people make $2000 a month after taxes. No wonder people are buying houses here, If you come from Europe or certain countries in Asia, buying a mansion here is the cost of an apartment there... I can't compete with Europe or USA, money is worth so much compared to ours. It's good if you are a seller I suppose.

I think in your case mate, the price would be priceless for your car... I think the demographic and the mileage makes for the cost same with original parts... I agree with you, not sure VW cars will hold up as much as BMW or Porsche... Pricing on Corrado is nuts now compared to 3-5 years ago and that's kind of sad. I always though a Corrado was a poor man's Porsche, not so true anymore... It is a pricey hobby for sure and I should go fish more often too! But in my case, I've been dreaming of owning one for 19 years and now that I have one I want to take my time and make it the way I want. I'm planning on passing it along to my son when I die kind of thing so I won't be selling it ever.

Price went up, the last one for sale was from the UK in August 2018 and the asking price was £1800 complete!

Yes I think the SLC in the USA all came with them, same for here in Canada. I see there's a plan so that's good... If I can be any help to source the LHD VDO, let me know cheers
