  1. Yeah that does look a bit twisted - not ideal... Yes the hose connectors are fixed so you tighten to the caliper first then run the free end to the hard line and tighten the union nut up to the connector on the hose.
  2. Yep, screw the hose into the caliper then connect to the hard line and tighten the union nut up to it so not twisting the hose at all.
  3. No, just the 2 metal clip things between the pads and carrier... You will need a windback tool though for the piston!
  4. In a MK2 Golf yes.... obviously a bit underpowered for a Corrado
  5. At the end of the day it's nearly 15 years since they stopped making them and they still look the absolute nuts 8)
  6. If it's rusty at all then get the orange coolant flush from VW - 5 Ltr bottle - works wonders!
  7. Probably the drivers side which is a reverse thread - note the arrow on the screw!
  8. To be honest mate I'd never try and do an exhaust myself - not without a ramp anyway and especially in this weather... Just take it to a decent tyre and exhaust garage, if you have all the bits they will probably charge you a tenner to fit it unless it takes ages... Magnex fit very well but I suppose it depends how well it mates up to your existing system.
  9. Thanks for the input Simon, very interesting, just for info - here is what I found... On my TDI converted Corrado I had major issues with a 'torque steer' type pulling effect under acceleration, I went through no end of suspension components trying to find the cause and had several allignment / troubleshooting sessions at Stealth and we couldn't really find anything wrong so in the end I'd almost decided live with it as a 'feature' of having a 340Nm MK4 engine installed in an A2 based chassis... The only thing I had left was the poly bushed wishbones but was still after a bit more ride comfort so when I heard about the TT / LCR bushes I thought i'd give them a go with some brand new VAG wishbones. Me and a mate fitted them on a ramp at his work and even though the camber was out slightly when I drove out with them, 100 yards up the road I could feel it was 'fixed' with no pulling at all - Was even better after allignemnt on the Biessbarth and It's driven perfectly ever since and that was the only thing we changed that day as the ball joints had been done only months before. Looking at the Powerflexed wishbones (which were fitted with the sleeve as above) I could see nothing wrong with them, no apparent wear and the bushes were seated correctly and the bolts were definetly not loose - still not sure what the issue was as the car was not particuarly low (wishbones are parellel) but I'll never be using any poly stuff again!
  10. Yep, just use the heavy duty VAG exhaust mounts to hold it - 7H0253144E
  11. Cool - cheers for the update, if the top mount was as bad as you say the car must have almost been undriveable!
  12. Sounds like a knackered caliper - I wouldn't drive it until it's been looked at
  13. VW sell the brushes separately if needed - pennies but tricky to solder.
  14. Yeah, I've had a word with them before (also close to me - Woodbridge) I'm really interested in mats tbh because no one seems to make them that last like the original (stitched logo) VW ones and I know some people that have used there MK1 ones for years - more that can be said for the overpriced cack that justmatz sells! I reckon there will be a market for Carpets eventually as the Corrado will no doubt become a classic but at the moment they don't really tend to wear that much as they are so much better quality than the MK2 carpets and they clean up fairly well if you have the time to take them out and do them properly and there is also a good market for second hand currently with all the breakers...
  15. Yeah this months - lol, I got this last week and even looked at that page and didn't even notice it...
  16. 1-2 O'clock depending on ignition advance Firing order is 1 - 3 - 4 - 2
  17. Probably a better question for Club GTI tbh as loads of people on there will have done this... I's say ideally you'd use parts from a Passat VR6 which doesn't have Plus suspension (they only did it for a year I think and it was 4 stud)
  18. Well., it's a mettallic white so could just be a very 'white' silver...
  19. I was chasing Ben around this morning with my penis out. I guess that could put a lot of people off. Gonna say, more like 'Peep Show'
  20. Ignition switch - especially if it's an original white plastic one - have you tried 'jiggling' the key around? To test take off the red black wire to the starter soleniod, with the key in the 'crank' position you should see 12V down this wire. If you don't then it's either the switch or a wiring issue usually related to an aftermarket alarm / imob
  21. Just bumping this.... Drove to Jims the other week for the Stealth RR day and it rained heavily all the way there and back - only used the wipers a few times, awesome stuff!
  22. IMO NO!!! ive been in cars with both & the Miltek is far nicer noise. I believe there are issues with quality of fit but im after a mitek when the time comes :D No - Magnex are far supperior to Milltek, one they fit and 2 the grade of stainless is far better - I've seen 10 year old Magnex's that still look brand new... compre that to a 5 year old Milltek! Assuming the new ones are the same quaility of course!
  23. You need a thin spanner like the viscous fan spanner that Halfords sell... You then need to allign the rack so you can get to it between the subframe and wishbone... Much easier on a ramp!

    Wing Mirrors

Yep, clips onto a circular shaped thing - best things to use a (shatterproof) ruller and prise it all the way round until it releases. If you buy the new glass from VW they would send someone out to fit it for you if you asked.
  25. Yep - R32 Corrado = Drug Baron / Mafia Crime lord
