Don't use a GSF one either or you'll be doing the same job again in a year or 2.... Get a genuine one from VW - £18
-
Yeah, must admit I wondered the same too - the 312's I'm running are much closer too as you say... I'd keep them OEM VW mate - Go and see Neil at Ipswich Audi for a good deal!
-
I dunno 5mm is quite a bit - surely they should be hubcentric??
-
Yep, that's the number I posted - you have to cut to length so keep the old one for now... If you're desperate any 8mm ID fuel hose will do
-
The part no.above is correct for the FPR on a 9A engine but that pipe is simply the feed to the clutch master... (not the one to the ABS valve block) 857 721 453

They sold the last 600 off with nearly £2500 off. So makes sense the Police would snap up the last ones and they are the perfect Q Car. More like £10k off wasn't it???

ABS relays are behind the glove box.... advisable to disable the ABS if it's really icy
-
Hmmm - no this should be ok... G60 and VR6 calipers / carriers are identical.... the pads you bought are the MK3 ones with a wear indicator but should be 19.6mm same as the Corrado ones. You could either sand the pads slightly or fit the 16v ons which are 3mm thinner each side in terms of material.

Hi mate - there may be some pics of a carbon one somewhere if you search... I have thought about it as I have a spare one...

You need to chase the loom from the battery to the lights - it will probably be a dead relay or bad connection. Maplins relays seem to be the only ones that last but if the loom looks bad I would bin it from a safety point of view, you will need to plug in the dim - dip resistor too if removing an uprated loom.
-
They are the three key ones along with the MAP sensor (inside the ECU) and the hall sender on the dizzy. Other stuff I would do are the throttle switches, ignition switch, FP and ECU relays, oil temp and pressure senders (as they can leak)

Front bumper? If it's the front then it's 2 bolts each side but the brake cooling duct needs to be removed on one side if fitted and then the 5 splitter bolts and the connections for the fogs and indicators. Always support the engine with either a brace or a jack and some wood under the sump.

Yep - not expensive at all...

Engine Conversion. Places to go/costs. Advice?
Supercharged replied to Bruceybaby's topic in Suppliers Forum
Not really... Stealth reckon most conversions are over 100 hours or work to do to a proper factory standard. -

Same shape pads but the 280mm ones are 3mm thicker... no issues with using the 16v ones though.

Number 9 - hub / bearing carrier
-
Oh sorry - but yes I think they still are but it may only be the pins that need swapping round to convert a LH onto a RH or vice versa

Stealth - they will be more expensive that others but they are probably the only place I would trust to do it to a high / safe standard. -
Yep - spoken to James a few times - really nice and knowledgable chap!
-
You need to get it on 1552 or VAGCOM really - no point guessing / changing random parts.
-
Handed - becuase of the direction and handbrake mech
-
John - the VR6 discs come with the Geo-med coating anyway, I'd just use them as they are tbh as no paint seems to last any longer.
-
Yep, you know it's official when it's on the formula1 site - really looking forward to the new season now!

Ah that explains it, I thought you were winking at me all those times. I was starting to get worried  That explains it - thank fook for that! :camp: As I said back then it's lucky you are only 4 ft tall :) Good post though - I think we all need a reminder from time to time of how dangerous our roads and machines can be.
