  1. I assume you've looked for it - ashtrays, glovebox, spare wheel well and inside the first aid kit if present?? They are the original VW fit so the dealers will have a set of keys to undo...
  2. As said before ECP are more expensive on genuine parts than the dealers - VW charge about £85+vat if you get a decent discount, or lenses are about £20 a side.
  3. Welcome to the forum! - what engine is it?
  4. There is one that seem to be good for heavy car parts but I can't remember the name at present - it will come to me...
  5. The G60 wheels will be fine, the problem with the 17's will be due to the width and offset most likely altho the suspension height also plays a part...
  6. Yep, maplins do Multimeters for a fiver... What I meant with the jump lead was to create an engine earth incase it had broken down - yes try to start with the lead in place Andy - you really need to check the basics first, either get a meter or just take the battery to a shop with a tester - halfords/gsf etc...
  7. Also - if you need to unplug any looms then there is a kind of lock slider thing...
  8. Yeah - I'd only use one of those every other oil change at the most on older cars/engines...
  9. CAG, whereabouts are you?? Stealth Racing is the place to take a 16V
  10. What car is it? should be able to get rid of it completly by blocking one pipe and venting another into the airbox.
  11. Is the anti-syphen flap in place?? - these can snap off and cause a block in the filler neck...
  12. Andy - sounds like you disturbed something while changing the coolant, maybe the plug to the starter solenoeid (fairly big red and black wire) Check the above first then battery voltage is at least 12, if ok then also try a jump lead from the neg terminal to the alt bracket incase the main engine earth was corroded and made worse by the coolant change... Next you need to check for 12V at the starter solenoid plug when trying to start, if nothing then imobiliser or ignition switch are likely...
  13. Just be very careful with the apex seals - a mate of mine wrecked both parts of the outer casing of his charger whilst 'having a look' and putting it back together
  14. What oil was used? Genuine filter and switch?
  15. If it's getting that hot at idle and the fan isn't coming on then one stage of the fan switch has gone but the VR is a bit different in that it has 3 stages rather than 2...
  16. Not in the fuse box but should be very close to it as far as I know...
  17. VR6Bella, I just meant change the Relays (the electrical supplys to the fuel pump and ECU) - they don't cost much and are known to play up over time...
  18. Henny, can you re-terminate them higher up?
  19. Should be cheaper from GPC at Inters over the weekend...
  20. VR6Bella, I'd change the fule pump and ecu relays if they've not been done - just to rule them out more than anything...
  21. Cool - yep is is that bar next to the sandwich plate that I've got, anyone need one let me know...
  22. http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic. ... =autowerke
  23. 021 133 227 H If your part ends in J then they have given you the gasket between the 2 parts of the manifold, muppets...
