aussieg60, no thats fine, you replace the plastic bit... the windage tray performs the same function.
-
It must absolutely fly now Mike!!!
-
Yeah - it's only worth repairing if everything else is straight - has it been checked on a jig??
-
Afraid not... these do need to be pressed in with a proper press so you need the bearing carrier off the car and therefore it will mess up the allignment... To save a bit of cash you could take them off and then take them to a garage to have the bearings changed...

gc, cheers - nice link! ..and Welcome to the forum!

You got the mechs as well I take it??

WATER LEAKS FROM JOINTS! PLEASE HELP? STARTIN TO GET mad:
Supercharged replied to DUB's topic in Engine Bay
Do you mean the plastic temp sender flange?? If so you need to replace it and the O ring as the plastic warps with age, it's worth doing them all while your at it - thermostat housing, side of head and radiator elbow... -
LOL - some handles are reverse threaded for some strange reason so bare that in mind!
-
I have a pair of rear passat handles I can send for £15 - you will need the mechs tho...
-
I'd get onto Tesco's!
-
Yep - both the above still available altho none in the country at present so will take a couple of days from germany... Come to just over £50 + vat retail for both...

ABS ECU from a 2.0 16v (93 model) into a VR6?
Supercharged replied to scabbyscala's topic in Drivetrain
Hmm - can't really tell on ETKA as the part number looks to be superceded... I think it depends if the 16V had EDL as well (an option for that year) Have you looked at the part number on the VR6 one?? -
What did you get done at Awesome?

Fitting a VR6 into a G60 - crossmember and bonnet question
Supercharged replied to Stef_Vento's topic in Engine Bay
Your gonna need a late bonnet I'm afraid and also bear in mind that alot of the VR6 drivetrain parts are mk3 based (widetrack) unlike the G60 which is mk2 4 stud... I take it the G60 engine is knackered otherwise why would you want to convert? -
STORM 2, I'd be tempted to try another store - the thing is that halfords are a big company and the staff are less likely to care about exchanging something like that than the owner of a small place - i think you were just unlucky...
-
Yeah -all mk3 GTi's are wide - basically any car that uses 205 width tyres...
-
Hello mate - Vince means the sender wheel not the sender itself, costs about £7 i think...
-
they are less than a quid... good excuse to fit G60 calipers tho!
-
I think Flusted (and myself) just wants to do the conversion to 5 stud without going widetrack - am I right in thinking this can be done with just the 5 stud hubs and VR6 outer CV joints and discs all round (ie don't need to change wheel bearing carrier)??

Possible winner for funniest read of the month
Supercharged replied to randal's topic in General Car Chat
Jesus - the worrying thing is this guy probably is a Police Driver! -
I think Darren changed the thermoswitch for the fan, the thermostat is in a plastic housing on the water pump - thats the bit that sould like it needs changing
-
Try it on another laptop or preferably a desktop PC as power supplied to USB ports differ - also worth trying the laptop on mains power as well...
-
Don't use Gunk!!! - it's awful stuff and stinks.. Use the turtlewax or autoglm stuff that Halfords sell
