VAG are usually cheaper on exhausts than most exhaust places I find! - and they last 3 times as long as the pattern cr@p... Also try GSF as they sell proper VAG exhausts also... (but make sure they are genuine)
-
yep, I moved the other one into here tho - lockage...
-
At the end of the day the VAG stuff is not expensive so we might as well use what the manufacturer recommends...
-
Welcome to the Forum! Deffo check the circlip on the gear shifter...
-
Mark - this won't really be viable, do you realise how heavy it will be? much heavier than a car without PAS as your having to move the cold hydraulic fluid around the rack... It will be dangerous to drive IMO...
-
gear shift parts.....are they interchanglbe???
Supercharged replied to steveo29's topic in Drivetrain
All G60's i've driven are notchy and all VR's are silky smooth... No idea why but there must be a reason... (I have the shift weight on mine but it's different to the VR ones I've seen...) -
What Oil Temp Does Your G60 Show At Motorway Speed?
Supercharged replied to juloesG60's topic in Engine Bay
You lucky get! - Ipswich is covered in snow at the moment and i'm meant to be back at work tomorrow! -
What is this tube/pipe on my 16v? It's broken.
Supercharged replied to belfastfumanchu's topic in Engine Bay
No bleeding - it's just a vac hose... I did mine a few months ago but I had to undo the master cyl and pull it fwd to gain access to the pipe... -
Sorry - getting confused, I just meant the water pump (the belt driven one)
-
You mean left as you look into the bay (ie drivers side on a RHD)..? If so then it's likely to be the aux water pump or the serpentine belt tensioner... (timing chains are on the other side)
-
Cool - The old sensor must have been completly dead (open circuit) Sure you didn't knock something when changing the BTS - check the wires to the oil pressure sender, check engine earths... LOL - the TDI was completly dead this morning, checked the battery voltage and it was sitting at 1.6VDC, Nice! - will find out whats actually up with it tomorrow!
-
Could be the hall sender is knackered, pull the plug off - does it sound any different? Maybe also check the injector wiring harness...
-
They usually keep these as it's a standard part for a mk3 Golf etc but if not just get one from GSF... It could also be the master but you'll want to change the slave anyways if so, so start with the cheaper part first... You may also want to check the condition of the flexi pipe that leads to the slave... (these are another £30 or so..)
-
Yep, they share the same reservior with a pipe to the clutch MC about half way down... The MC is the the bit the pedal pushes onto - mounted next to the brake servo.... The slave is the most likely culprit and the new ones are plastic inside rather than metal like the originals that rot away... look for fluid leaking underneath it (it's mounted on top of the gearbox) ATE make the OE ones for VW and it will probably be cheaper from VAG the Euro if you get discount... (mine was £28 plus vat I think but that was a couple of years ago)
-
It will cause the symptoms above tho when trying to start from cold... try plugging the blue plug into the black sensor and trying again or measure the resistance of the Blue one... Hall sender could also cause this - check for oil contamination in the dizzy... I assume you've checked the battery voltage Rob?
-
VW dealer's or a Bosch agent may be slightly cheaper... They come in 2 flavours 70 and 90Amp so make sure you get the corrent one... Also the new ones come without the pulley so you may want to order that also as the old ones are a pain to get off without an air gun...
-
You may be able too - it has a part number... we can order US only spec stuff over here...
-
No worries, it's happened to me a few times...
-
OK, the horn part has come apart... you either need to push it back on and try and get the whole thing off or just prise off what is left with a screw driver...
-
Yeah, plus you wanna do the rear bearings at the same time really...
-
Cool! - yep, write-up please!
-
Get them from the dealer, GSF or Halfords...
-
Yeah that was me, lol Search for Ignition and Bypass
