In theory they should measure the thickness of the disc, vented 280mm discs are 22mm new and the tolerence is 20mm... I don't think it's worth it tbh when new discs all round will be less than a ton from the dealer... slap them on an interest free CC!

Yep, that will be your problem as the split was allowing unmetered air to come in...

At 65k they shouldn't be too bad but they will be still worth replacing in terms of age... The bushes are not expensive but like Steve says 3/4 hours is a good estimate and being a VR6 it's quite likely the rear brake bias valve will need to be cut off (replacement is about £55 from GSF) and you'll probably want to replace the 2 small brake hoses as they are coming off anyway - good time to fit a Goodridge kit...

Ah - you have A/C so different blower to standard... The speed switch is a seperate part on the early dash.. not sure about the late AC one tho...

davmatt, I don't think the switch is much from VW, it's just the resister pack thats expensive... Did you buy a whole pack or just a resister to solder - where from?

Yep, some G60's came with it factory fitted, mostly in the states... Eric (Tempest) has a US spec AC G60...

£18 from the dealer... See if your getting 12V's to the the starter soleniod plug when the switch is turned to position 3...

Nice one, glad you got it sorted with not much expense! What do you think happened to it? had the engine been apart before or had it just do damaged as a result of being stored for a while??

The dealer must have ordered the wrong part and it was special order - thats why they won't take it back...

I think they may just slip upwards like MK2 Golfs - If so then pushing back down may sort it...

Yep, Wlecome to the forum - you should also look at the state of the reflectors and the lenses, if the lenses are badly pitted from stonechips then the light won't project thru properly, new lenses are £20 a side from VW....
