Probably... I think we need more info tho - maybe get a passenger to try and locate the noise...
-
He phoned me about 1pm and was about to fit them...
-
Hmmm... need a pic really... Sounds like the TM's are knackered tho (probably not changed with the suspension when fitted) - they may look different as the top plate that you can see under the bonnet is not part of the mount, you swap that over...

Hi mate... Did you clean the face of the block well before fitting the pump? Maybe change the bolts first as I reckon this could be done from underneath without draining the coolant...

If we are talking about the VR6 then add an X to the end of the part number for the exchange unit... or try a Bosch dealer...

It's 9.5 (10 if it's an Auto) Get the radiator from VAG, better quality and you get the plastic elbow...

When was the fluid last changed? -
Yep, always use the proper VW (Gates) poly-ribbed belts...
-
Yep, easy job on a VR but you'll need a M8 bolt to release the tension then just undo the 3 bolts holding it on, check all the pulleys before fitting the new belt...
-
I'd do the stat and any plastic housing that looks suspect... maybe temp senders as well depending on budget, have you checked the water pumps? Be prepared to paint the rad support panel with hammerite as well as they seem to rust and it's a good opputunity to do this... Also helps to order a few extra bits like bolts to replace rusty ones etc, also maybe worth getting a new thermoswitch as well as you'll need to swap it to the new rad anyways... It's an easy enough job on a VR but it's annoying if you find extra bits you want to replace but havn't got them so it's worth having a good look around the car first...
-
Yep, if you have variable intermittent wip then it's alot bigger than the other relays to spot...
-
Goood good, did you use the patented Mike Edwards Breadknife approach?
