  1. You live in Scotland tho Rodders, with an average temp of -30 no oil is going to be too thin!
  2. You want to fit sports dampers to go with the lowering springs, new rear bumpstops and front top mounts at minimum.
  3. H8RRA, Yep, it was 79.99 in store, then 63.99 then 59.99 but now 39.99 - Be quick tho as the voucher thing finishes tomorrow! - some of the other ones are reduced further as well, including the black industrial units - the chest is £149 I think... LOL, yeah Kev, I'm just like you - I can't drive past one without going in and I can't go in without spending £50... (there marketing is spot on!) and I seem to drive past 3 times a week!
  4. randal, lol - it does actually!!
  5. Yep, G12+ is the lastest coolant additive and you'll need 2 bottles (3 ltrs) to do a complete change on a G60 along with some Volvic... Etc... I personally would also do the 2 plastic housings on the cylinder head (they go brittle with age) along with new O rings and bolts, I'd also do the blue and black senders as well for the sake of a few quid... maybe get a new expansion tank cap and new tank if the old one is brown/yellow colour... then at least you can see the level after the change! The above comes to about £100 but that will be yer cooling sytem sorted for a few years!
  6. Err, yeah this one... http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?t=28158
  7. Just been to Halfords as I knew they are doing the spend £50 and get a £10 voucher offer util tomorrow I think... They've reduced there Pro Tool chests again so I bought another one of these to go ontop of the one I have...(which is superb and heavy duty enough for me) Paid £39.99 for it (the last one was £60!!) and it comes with drawer liners... http://www.halfords.com/opd_product_det ... e=0&cat=66 Needed to spend another £10 to get the voucher so picked up some brake fluid then noticed VW coils were being sold for a fiver... checked the book and it listed 'Corrado 1.8' and the guy at the desk confirmed it was the one for a G60... just thought it's one of those things worth replacing for the sake of a fiver!
  8. Think Gavin described it in yur other thread... to me it sounded like 2 clips locked together as a spring clamp...
  9. Ah, cheers Phil, I thought some C's got the ABF...??
  10. Yeah - meant cambelt tnsr, serpentine and PAS...
  11. No - these are the mounts at the Top of the suspension turrets, bumps stops fit within the spring assembly and act as spring assistors) Arb is defined if you hover the mouse over it...
  12. Various methods... you could try and see if your dealer will lend you the tool also... If not - 2 Jubilee clips to take the tension out.. Or the way i've done it is to use a plastic dumbell weight with someone else pushing it down onto the tensioner...
  13. Yep, the pump is the same as most mk2 and mk3 Golfs - the exchange units from the dealers are brand new and only cost about £21 (get the whole unit not just the immpeller) Also worth getting new thermostat and housing etc also... along with a couple of bottles of G12+
  14. You can do it without pulleys off, just check the socket you are using for the new bolt fits before starting... You will need someone to stand on the breaks with the car in gear and you will also need a fecking great torque wrench and some threadlock... If you do have to take belts and pulleys off it would make sense to do the cambelt/tensioner and change the other 2 belts at the same time
  15. Who rebuilt it?? - If it was ROMA tuning then you got a very good charger there!
  16. Yep, Late 16v Corrado's fitted with the 9a and ABF engines use the digifant system that includes the self diagnoses feature...
  17. Mr Daves16v does aa exchange unit too at a good price...
  18. The flat bench was standard on all 2ltr 16v's...
  19. http://website.lineone.net/~quigger/heater.htm That might help...
  20. Deffo get the front top mounts but everything else can be done as and when...
  21. Not a bad idea after he builds up a coupe of years NCB...
  22. I thought they were 45mm but maybe wrong, you can also fit mk1/early mk2 wheels by removing the splined adapter sleave using a 3 legged puller... (think the early ones were 25mm so you may have to do this - is it from an early mk2??)
  23. Yep, had a good luck over this on saturday, it really is superb and a great colour too... Ben - If any of your mates come out with anything like '£1500 on a 12 year old car' or 'You could have got an R reg Saxo for that' just laugh at them!!
