  1. Yeah I would tbh... I'd maybe order a new one anyway while you can still get them, also has the exp tank cap been changed for a blue one? Keep the Corrado - you really will regret it after all that's been done to it and you will get to a point when it's as reliable as a 5 year old car! The DSG gearbox is great though and every revision gives smoother performance and better MPG, the chauffeur who took me to the airport has a Passat CC with DSG and she absolutely loves it, usually changes cars every year but she's kept it nearly 18 months now - It was also bought for £10k less than list when VW were doing a deal on fully loaded demonstrators - this thing has the auto park facility! Basically if you get a newer car try and keep the Corrado for weekends - Corrosion is the main concern with these cars now - yours should last forever living out there!
  2. I was going to say DG also but you really need a Rolling road to set a 16v up properly (The WUR mod adjusts the fueling so it doesn't run lean at high rpm)
  3. Haha, yeah it's very good, lot nicer city than I expected (here for work) That old factory is now a shopping arcade I think but still has the track - hope to have a look over the weekend. Saw the words 'F%ck you Silvio' on a statue earlier, made me chuckle!

    abs light

Just posted on the other thread - it won't affect the ABS working...
  5. It won't affect the ABS working but your right that it will need VAGCOM to clear it.
  6. That's not a bad labour price - £50 an hour for a dealer! Good work - make sure you're aux pump is working, when they fail they either take out the matrix or that 3 way pipe leading to it. Well done on buying a genuine Matrix, pattern ones are not good especially in Spain! Make sure it's the right one for an A/C car before fitting though! Are you in Alicante? - I'm currently in Turin
  7. I binned mine, 4 years old and in a similar state - bloody dangerous and never buying anything FK make again!
  8. Maybe it's the way I drive but 60k in a corrado with the roads as they currently are in the UK usually takes it toll on the front end of the car and the screen!
  9. Looking at adding a couple of modern features to the Corrado like comfort indicators which VW do a kit for... The other thing I'd like to do is mod the headlight switch so they come on with ignition as I tend to have them on most of the time anyway and think it may also decrease wear on the switch, especially with a loom fitted. Anyone done this? - I'd leave the switch in place and thinking it would be ideally left in the On position so it could be turned off manually if required and also so the sidelights still worked as usual for MOTs - basically like the setup on a newer VAG car.
  10. Usually a cracked manifold does this - seals itself up when hot
  11. There really is no point in fitting a second hand screen, the shape of the Corrado means that they only last around 5 years or so before they are full of pits - new glass is great, easy to clean and wipers work so much better! A new screen from VW is £220 but a glass place should be able to supply a Sekurit one for half that.
  12. Welcome to the forum, Stealth is the place for you - they are not just about VR6's, they used to do loads of valver tuning back in the day and people would travel from all over the country to see Vince for the WUR mod and setup. Probably one of the few places that understands the K Jet system.
  13. Hi mate the matrix hose is around 19mm ID Car sounds really bad so don't drive it until it's bypassed or fixed!
  14. Yeah, I always used Autocavan / GSF ones on my Golf and had to heat them up to fit, still very difficult. When I got the G60 I bought genuine VW ones which were 3 times the price I think (£1.50 each) but went on nice and easily!
  15. Yep, used to be 50p each from GSF, not much more from VW and the VW ones are easier to fit
  16. DJ - Have you also got any proof that the CD is a genuine Bentley one? - This forum has already been warned by Bentley Publishers regarding copyright issues! This is my old Bentley Manual I think, I remeber dropping it off to Stuarts work a few years ago!
  17. It's in the Bentley manual - you'll need to buy a new grip now if you still can! There is a small clip underneath that releases it where it attaches to the other trim.
  18. It's the MK1 part you want - 171721647 In future though pleeeease try and use the search function rather than starting new threads, this has been covered so many times and a search of your own thread title brings up over a page of results - http://the-corrado.net/search.php?searchid=158871
  19. Awesome, looks a really tidy conversion!
  20. Could be a collapsed hose but when you say the MC is almost new was it a pattern part or remaunufactured? If so I would suspect it's faulty... Could be a leaky servo also I suppose...
  21. LOL, yeah Air - sorry working in Italy at moment and remoting to my PC in UK so a bit slow!
  22. Just use the VW stuff as per the service schedule, compressed are is good for cleaning out the drain channels too
  23. Ah sorry, must have been just plus suspension then I was thinking of...
  24. The castleated nuts were not used on the Corrado, only the MK2
