  1. VW but you'll need to order - try Jabba or G-werks
  2. From either VW or Seat dealers - they used to be something silly like £32 each!
  3. Sure it wasn't when you filled up with fuel?
  4. Your really best off buying from a VW or Seat dealer - Cheap as chips (£50 each over here) and last ages! As above the shipping cost will be a lot and I think the reason no one replied at first was the fact that you only have 7 posts on this forum and they are all in this thread!
  5. Same thing happened in Norfolk about 10 years ago - don't think the passengers were so lucky that time!
  6. Could be or could be the brash bush in the gear box? What make was it - I had a 'brand new' chinese one from GSF once for a MK3 and it was worse that the one I took out!
  7. Change it, they usually only last 10 years max!
  8. The steering rack is knackered on my car. The garage said the gear wheel is missing but that's just a matter of a pinion.
  9. It's a sheild for the stub axle bolts - may also stop the oil seal getting damaged or popping out. They usually ask you if you want that when ordering the bearing kit - couple of quid extra and there is an ABS or non-ABS version
  10. Could be just rusty - they needs replacing eventually - new numberplate lights are £12 from VW
  11. http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/SearchCmd?srch=g3&x=0&y=0&action=search&storeId=10001&catalogId=10151&langId=-1 Way cheaper than any bodyshop supplier!
  12. If it blows instantly then it's a dead short - dash lights are usually reliable so I would suspect the issue to be at the back. Take the panel off and unplug the numberplate light loom - test a fuse... if it's ok then turn on the dash lights, if still ok then you know it's at the back. I'd have a good look at the wiring back there - you may find it's shorting on the body, may not have been put back correctly after a spoiler / wiper motor change.
  13. Yeah - will be alram for remote locking - trace it back, you may find a box under the rear seats
  14. Irwin's are cheapest at Homebase - especially on one of there 15% off weekends
  15. Bleeding might fix it for a bit but this really only needs doing every 5 years or so... The slave doesn't leak badly at first - if it's a painted part I would change it as it could be original - new ones are alloy You can bleed in the traditional method but much easier with an eezibleed - especially if on your own
  16. Yan, I can always pop up there and have a word if needed... only up the road and want to get a heel pad sewn into my original mats
  17. Excellent idea and looks a very professional setup - I'd be in there like a shot if it was near me! I know people had mentioned doing something similar before but I thought the liability insurance side of things put a downer on the business model. If this works and makes a profit then fantastic and hopefully more sill start popping up around the UK!
  18. MK3 Golf in scrap yard!
  19. Cars like that are pretty much worthless - you'd spend thousands getting it to a decent standard
  20. Similar thing happened to me last year - repair was £2600 but car was agreed value of £5k so they had to repair it. Just be careful who does it - I wasn't happy with my repair and it's been back 4 times so far and it's still not 100%
  21. The 2 part stuff from Halfords is the daddy
