BM - run into a tow bar! Quote sounds spot on, if you know the work is good then go for it - very important to keep the the front end in top condition as stone chips that are untreated can soon start to rust
-
It shouldn't have passed an MOT like that, should be secured!
-
Sheet - that's fairly dangerous mate!! Should be a cheap part from VW IIRC
-
Yeah non genuine but any exhaust place or motor factor should have one ov those
-
Last time I got one from GPC it was £12 I think - plastic ones are £3
-
No gasket required but you might want to think about starter motor, shift tower, reverse light switch, slave syl etc etc Mr Yan has a gearbox cleaning facility in his back garden - Mrs Yandards likes nothing more than a load of bits of wire wheel all over her washing :-)
-
It could be anything - I wouldn't drive it at all until sorted or you could be looking at a very expensive bill! Running with minumum oil really doesn't help either!

Fuel Pump question. Trying to install right now

Ok, thing you have the wrong part then - sure mine clipped on the side but I had to modify the pipes and 2 wires that went up to the top housing... -

I can't remeber exactly what mine looked like but VW say 'also use....' with the new VDO type pump. I remeber I had to do some soldering of the sender wires to make it work but apart from that it was fine -
Hello, I'm afraid that's just a plastic gasket that sits between the door and the mirror - I think the spacer you are on about is the bit that extends the mirror on the TVR's so not a Corrado part - can't TVR help?
-
^ Yep - I know someone that made a rasied pit type thing using railway sleepers.
-
Try running in it reverse on axle stands?
-
Plastics fine, more likely to do damage with a metal one... Yeah change all the plastic bits like the stat housing and the crack pipe
-
It will be the fan switch ion the rad - the first stage has failed.

Stick to Halfords for a jack, very good quality! Ramps might be a bit tricky as you need fairly heavy duty ones for 205 width tyres.

Yeah hopefuly Graham will be able to suggest a few things to check... At least they were careful not to run it with it being so lean... quite impressed with that place, very professional setup! Good to mean you the other day and hope you got back ok! -

Are these the Rallye lenses?? I bought 8 a few years ago for less than £50 shipped!! Bosch ones are the best ones to use if you can find them
-
Yep, I forgot he had the bigger tank too... I 'only' get 600 miles out of mine!! The other thing he can do is run it on Veg oil or even recycled stuff from restaurants - I can't do this with the PD engine. Tom - great work, just catching up with your thread now, amazed you got it all done for Stanford hall too and to such a high standard!

Make sure you fill it with fresh fluid and run it by hand a few times before sticking the belt on, then start it with the car in the air and work the steering from lock to lock with the cap off to bleed the aid out... it will still be noisey for a couple of days driving until all the air is expelled.
