  1. If it's a Storm, it will have a coil pack rather than a distributor. So dr_mat is correct... ;)
  2. Another member to the V6 30v Syncro crew.. 8) This came up for sale on ukpassats.com too - was going for a silly price so you got a steal there (assuming you got it as cheap ;)) Those that diss the Passat B5 have rarely ever actually driven one. They're so smooth you'd never go back to 'old skool' dubs again! They also make great motorway munchers. You can fly 300 miles in a day without even getting a sore bum. The V6 30v engine comes into its own at 80+mph (in private roads). Just keeps going and going and going and going....
  3. I had the 'original' setup on my C - the drivers and passenger arm & blade combo on my C and it fitted fine. I agree in that you probably need to swap them around. My passenger side didn't lie completely flat - it rested about where the middle of your tax disc is - and near the edge - but both swept and didn't hit either side. It'll work fine if you just try switching them in combo ;) I think I had the passenger and drivers' blades round the 'wrong' way for it to work.
  4. Been on FastPurple since Jan 2004.. http://fastpurple.co.uk/corrado/vids/ (G-Lader VW Tech Talk video.wmv)
  5. Blimey, I been running this place that long?! Ain't you lot had enough yet? lol
  6. Isn't that the point of feedback? ;) They're still cool mind, just think 3 is the best of the bunch for me. 8)
  7. 1 & 2 you can see you kneeling down taking the photo... 4 has what looks like a slightly naff (no offence to the owner) estate in the reflection... So I'd say 3... with the nice bush. :) The Porsche looks cleaner too (which is kinda the point).
  8. This may help: http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?t=51362 Though you will need to find the source of your air lock. The overflow tank cap is prone to dying (leaks air in) and the cheapest to replace first if it's looking a little old..
  9. Pah, you're all lucky. B5 Passat Syncro - two exhaust systems! 2 CATs, 2 middle boxes, 2 back boxes, 2 exits.... Yup, not looking forward to that going....

    Push button start

chez2165, should go without saying, else your car would be rather easy to steal! I had exactly the same problem with mine, one Sunday 200 miles from home and the ignition switch gave up. Found an auto electrician open and got him to wire up a push start. Later bought a nice red push button from Maplins for £1.04 and wired it where the fag lighter was. Chicks digged it... lol

    TomTom Satnav

It's part of the software on the TomTom 910. If got it lifted off a 910, then bought a larger SD card so I could run it on my 510. Only problem being if you upgrade your firmware to v6.5, it knows you don't have a 910, so doesn't let you use the TTS. Hence one card with 6.1 on it, and TTS. And the other, original, with 6.5 which you need to use TMC receiver.

It's text-to-speech, not voice to text ;) Means it says "Turn left onto High Street" rather than just "Turn left" Can even read out your text messages and stuff too..

Will second the 510 being great kit. And yes - use the pocketgps database, far far better. Can get it for free if you surf the waves of the torrents into the bay of the pirates... if you get what I mean ;) (Or equally free if you work for Carphone Warehouse and the author knows you and has given you an unlimited subscription.. hehe). I also have the RDS Traffic receiver, but am yet to actually receive any useful updates!? Anyone actually used it successfully? I've sat in a traffic jam on the M25 and it's said "Updated. No traffic problems to report." Thanks for that.. ;) I've also nicked the Text-to-Speech stuff off the 910, and have that on my 510 too... hehe (but can't run that at the same time as the RDS TMC receiver - so have two SD cards, one 1gig one with the TTS stuff on and v6.1 firmware, and the original card updated to v6.5 to work with the TMC receiver -- you can't use the TTS on v6.5 ya' see!)
  14. Click inside, or outside? Isn't it the central locking pump and gizmos which are in the back of the car - not leccy windows.
  15. Yup, just slotted it into it's own sidebar section now. :)
  16. Check the Portal for latest Top Gear showings... ;)
  17. I had one on my VR6 'rado. Great noise (louder than K&N) and looked good :) The mount for mine put it quite close to the engine, though, so I twisted the mount round and attached it to the bodywork instead - moving it a few inches from the block.
  18. You tried turning the lights on? You'll need to change the feed to the LCD lights to be an ignition live rather than a lights-on feed if you want them to look like that all the time - else they will be dark (and hard to read) in daylight.
  19. That video has been on fastpurple since Nov '05... http://www.fastpurple.co.uk/corrado/vids/

    HID into Rado lights

If you can get deflectors then that should be fine.. But that does limit the kits you can get... good luck with that search!

    HID into Rado lights

No issue with heat - however HIDs are not designed for reflector lights - you will not get a good light pattern. They are deisnged for use in projector headlamps only. Mostly because normal bulbs have caps on them so they only shine light backwards - into the reflectors. HIDs don't have this so shine light everywhere, ruining your bream pattern. £200? They're sub-£80 on ebay...

    New rear wiper blade

Did you click the front ones into position fully? I had a similar problem with them on my Passat, and found I needed to really realy push them on until they click in. Corrado arms may be the flaw in the plan though. Rear looks good!
  23. Agreed, Clive in SOUNDS OFF isn't the brightest of chaps. He even wired up his own Clifford wrong which enabled him to start his car via remote start (a Honda NSX) which he left in gear and it careered into the rear of his shop. Best avoid. I can recommend Sounds Alarming in Wallington, though. The boss there learnt Car Electrics on a Corrado, so is fairly knowledgable of them ;)
