  1. My vacuum prob I got 2secs out the car the died - irrelevant of throttle. I take it you're getting a spark?
  2. Check that its not something different now. You may be wrong assuming its the same problem you were having previously. Check all vacuum hoses for splits - including the plastic box to the back of the engine that has 2 hoses running into it. If the VR6 engine can't keep the vacuum, it'll just die. Might help - happened to me!
  3. But would you wanna look like this?

    Electric mirrors...

Try taking out the electric mirror switch in the drivers door and clean all the contacts. It's most likely all gunked up.
  6. Oettinger SLC, any chance of the original resoluion picture of that sunset one?
  7. If you follow his link, you will see ;) Classy pic here:
  8. I'm interested in a full-smoked set, ta' :) Tempest - the perfect gauge with that picture, thank you!
  9. Yes, it uses the already-in-place Davia aircon system, as well as a passat wiring loom, ducting, and of course, panel. The Davia Norm / Max buttons still function - so much so that the recirc. and ECON buttons on the panel don't function, as the Davia system controls that, rather than the panel. It's not a quick job. It took Jay, and this was his second time, 70+ hours to do?! I'm guessing there, but its a lot of work. There's some fabrication involved too. I'm not the best person to ask, as I didn't do it - but Jay is now away until the New Year. Whilst the dash was out though, I've had the majority of the electrics re-wired too, he said that it was a bit of a mess back there! ;) Stereo is now a lot more punchier and clearer now it sports a nice fat live wire and good grounding! 200k mile rehashed-many-a-time stereo wiring was probably not the most effecient! 8)
  10. Right, she's getting some TLC this year (2005 that is) to get her back to her former glory for the summer. First up - finally fixed the following: - no air to feet - fan only works on 4 - no hot air (matrix blown) .......in one swoop with..... CLIMATE CONTROL. Unplug it from a Passat. Plug it into the Corrado. Or something like that.... hehehe. I mean, it took him ages, but I don't see why... (Only joking mate!) Jay Renshaw was kind enough to grace my car with his magic, so here is the second Corrado in the country with Climate Control in the C dash (and the last - he said never again!) plus the nice edition of RED switches for the controls ;) To do: Dials - thats January, when they arrive ;) Going for blue-background LCD (like the climate control (and also my Road Angel 2), with illuminescent dials, a la DDI Group Buy :)
  11. False ceiling above the rear seats, with it facing forwards? Deoends how many lanky people you transport in the back :)
  12. Well, certainly an excellent choice of colour, model and year :) And 17s are cool too. Mine's wearing Audi RS4s at the moment.
  13. You can pick up just the glass, if you really not bothered about the heating element, for about £3 from a Motorfactors. You won't cry when some punk smashes it then. I think I'm on my 4th wing mirror glass  pablo_vr6, have you tried cleaning them? You might be able to see out of them then ;)
  14. That's what happens when you take ages to reply and talk on MSN ;)
  15. Remote start will only work if you enable it as you get out of the car (so the engine keeps running as you get out, remove keys, etc), then when you blip the alarm, it shuts off the engine and locks the door - so it would have to be in Neutral. Not necessarily - engines aren't developed to get up to temperature whilst at a stand-still, they are supposed to warm up by being used. Inefficient oil circulation, etc when cold and just running at idle. Yes, they warm up, buts its not 'good' for the engine. As you say - very handy though ;)
  16. Yes please for me too - as I still have the hole in my door :(
  17. Yeah, money's good..... lol (Yup, I'm listiening!)
  18. Do you live in a council estate, have 10 points, 0 ncd and 20 crashes since passing your test? :D
  19. You wait 'til next summer's shows...... she'll be ready :)
  20. Well, its been a long time coming, but I can finally afford to give the daily hack some TLC. The B&Q bypass is finally going to get removed, and the matrix fixed - but whilst its all out, I'll get a little extra added. I'm sure you can guess what.... 8) Then next year its time for the wheel refurb, full body dust-over, then some engine TLC care of V-Werks, as a new project I'm sure they'll love to do. 202,000 miles? Pah, it's just loosening up!
  21. This mean you're gonna grow up now, Tom? ;) Happy Birthday mate!
  22. What about blanking the current stereo position and maybe moving it to the cubby to the bottom-left of the steering wheel? Out of sight and always thought that was about DIN-sized.... Tinted windows help too..
