Adrian Flux and HIC can be a little random with quotes. I'm £990 with my modded VR6 with AF, yet for a R32 they wanted £2300 - thats an unmodded car! lol If you can withstand the shame, buy Max Power and get calling the companies in the back of there. I'm sure you'll find lots who will beat the price down. Then start playing them off one another (you can only do it once per company though, so have a good list!)

My knowledge of the 1.8 is a little slack - I'm sure you'll get more suggestions tomorrow when more are online. As for the rear lights - its just some frosty film you apply to the top half of the lights. Takes a couple of hours, but looks alright :) I've got a load of the stuff, just need to cut it up. Drop me a PM and I'll sort you out some for a minimal donation to the forum ;)

Don't listen to Jim. There's lots of little things you can do to the 1.8 to give it a little more oomph. Remember its essentially a golf engine, and they're rather moddable!

Funnily enough - not an option on the form. Its either "I was driving", "So and so was driving" or "I don't own that car anymore". But the whole point of not signing the form is that they cannot use the information to chase me about it. And the clue is in the name: "Notice of Intended Prosecution" - no procedings yet, so no prosecution, so no, I wouldn't be incriminating myself.

Sorry to drag up and old thread..... but guess what. Yes, a NIP in my Dad's name sitting in front on me and one unhappy Dad. Yes, I was driving the car at the time when the C was off the road - how f*&^ing typical. Some shitty 1.3 litre and another headache. *sigh*. So, fill in my details on the 'who was driving' form and send it off unsigned? However, there is no photo, no indication of speed, no information about the car other than the reg plate, the time and date of the offence. And where. This is the Metropolitan Police. When I've received these previously from Essex police, it had all the details above... Why are the MET so slack?

I was bowled over with their quote on my R32..... (you read it here first! I didn't buy it in the end though....). Was getting silly quotes of £2.5k to the best from The AA: £4100. Lol. Like anyone would pay that. Elephant: £1670. That's fully comp on a group 20 car with my 6 points and car worth £23k. Might have to see what they can do for the C come renewal time ;)

Yeah, sadly when you double post with attachments - both posts are linked with just one set of attachments - and when you delete a post, it deletes anything linked with it, like the pictures... Doh! I got them out of my webcache though, and reposted 'em though ;) Yay for linux.

Definately sounds like the switch. The newer ones do seem a bit more resiliant - time will tell if its any better! When mine went, the lights were stuck on! :lol:
