  1. On hold at the moment due to not quite enough people being interested, and the lighting-the-needles issue is yet to be satisfactorily resolved.

100mph? Well, you shouldn't really do over 100mph in the rain! *cough* I didn't experience any lift at 120mph the other night *cough* ;)
  3. Bare in mind, if the car is written off then you repair it - the car will be logged as a written-off-and-repair car, which may not help with selling (god forbid!) in the future. Glad you're ok though!
  4. The drilling on discs was originally done to remove the gas created by the brake pads under braking away from the surface. Brake pads nowadays do not give off gases, so they, apart from being pretty, bare little benefit. As for removing heat away from the discs - this is what the grooves are supposed to do - yes, the drilled holes may do this, but that isn't their original design. Talk to any dealer. The ones I have spoken to have all seen cracked drilled discs. John Munyard, who should be somewhere lurking on here, suffered from it only a couple of months ago. Porsche discs are created like that from a mould - not drilled from solid discs - so are a lot stronger. I use ATE Powerdiscs, which are grooved, available cheaply from Eurocarparts. Just my 2p.
  5. I have 17inch RS4s on mine... 5 stud though.
  6. The CCGB site pics of the Storm were mostly Guy Hartley's - and his Storm is far from standard....

    vr wont start

AFAIK, it was standard from '95 onwards.
  9. Lemme know if you need any of the extra files I was sent during my site construction if you want them, Jamie. And good luck.... :)
  10. Ok, but never come accross that myself. Have installed 4 Sony headunits - from old to bang-upto-date - none of which had this feature.... and since this is about Sony headunits... Think in total I've done around 15 installs - and never come accross a permnament setting-saved headunit. Yes, some remember for a few minutes because of capacitors inside, but not seen one that lasts longer.
  11. No it doesn't, it means it keeps the stereo on, running off the perm. live, for the set amount of time, once the ignition live is turned off.... Settings only remain on a stereo if the permnament live is indeed permnament....
  12. What would that have to do with it losing the settings after the capacitors have discharged, though?
  13. Sounds like you're missing a permnament live feed. It's unlikely to have been cut... it may be hanging somewhere down the back of the dash. Just hope to god it was taped up when removed from the last stereo.....
  14. There isn't on any of the Sony's I've used. What sorta setting, anyway, Nige?
  15. In order for the stereo to work all the time, you'll need permnament power running into both the ignition live and perm. live inputs. Have you tested the wires yet?
  16. :?: Standard UK unleaded is 95 RON, BP Super is 97 RON (can be 98 - depends on area) and Shell Optimax is 98 RON.
  17. I've got a Kenwood Mask on mine - same sorta thing, I've actually wired it so that the stereo is on no matter what - and it makes me mask it (its a manual one) every time I leave the car to turn it off.

    17" dilema

Though it depends on how you want your tyre to look. I'm running 7½" ET35s 17s with 205 tyres - the tyre is a bit stretched and the rim-protection is non-existant, so I've kurbed them to buggery! When the tyres finally fade, I will be going up to 215 or even 225s if the rims will take it, just so I can keep them happier with my dodgy parking techniques. But then again, wheels like Darren's look phat with stretched tyres on...

    Dead Battery

When the engine isn't running, your battery should read just over 12volts. With the engine running, you should be getting at least 13.4volts with a voltmeter accross the terminals.
  20. Sounds like the common permnament/ignition live problem. I would check your red and yellow power wires. If you have just used an ISO block, you will need to swap the Red and Yellow wires - and hopefully that should be it. If it's still not working, I'd get a voltmeter out and check your ignition live only works with the ignition, and that your permnament live is indeed permnament.

    First-Aid kit ?

First Aid kits were present in all European Corrados. Just most of them don't have them in the car anymore. Not sure about the US though. They are quite rare now, but do occasionally pop up on ebay.
  22. Because I've done a lot of work with the background code of the site making this site a nice honey-pot for the Google bots.

    My gauges are icky

People, there is no need to put your email address on a public forum. When writing your message, if you select "Notify me when a reply is posted", every reply to this topic will be emailed to the address you registered with - and I've set it up so it sends the actual post too - not just a notification! You'll find the majority of users would prefer to keep their email address private and reply on the forum, rather than a 1-on-1 email, to which the details everyone else looses out on. Sorry I can't help you, potatonet, but I'm sure someone will be able to respond on here soon.
  24. There are a few other ladies on here... just have to let them say hello for themselves! As for the pics, keep 'em clean, please.
  25. £180 for CAT2! Ouch. £80 installed on your driveway, here! Ring Barclaycard and Adrian Flux last. They're brilliant at undercutting. Think Barclaycard do £100 excess no-matter-what too.
