Been in a fair few Seats myself (thats SEA-ATS) and yeah, the Curpa ones are mental. My favourite has to be a mate's Ibiza Cupra R, but the older shape. Bigger turbo, chipped, huge exhaust, the thing was mental and blasted 280bhp through the wheels and 380NM of torque. Can you say TORQUE-STEER. Dear-o-dear, but bloody mental on the motorway. My only cripe about the whole of the Seat range is.... plastic. They all feel plastic, look plastic, and rattle a bit plastic. You'll never get the C feel in one. But hey, its modern fun.... Now the new TDi Seats.... One chip and its on par with a standard VR6 - but twice the mpg and 100NM of extra torque. Gear ratios mean I still win though ;) Seat definately have their head screwed on with this little lot though. Poor VW are lagging behind and £10k too expensive. Anyway, Nige. Surely you'd prefer a little 1litre Seat Marbella.... :D In gay pink.

Yeah, that's one thing we do need to sort before I'm completely happy to committing to this. We need a solution I can provide to everyone with distrubution - as opposed to just "sort it out yourself".

Yeah, the only good thing VW Parkway did for me was a bit of a warranty job... :) I prefer Seat next door. Nice peeps in there and they only have to pop next door if they need a part... hehe. I'll have to find Sunset VW, erm, 'next time'... ;) Sorry, :offtopic1:

Well, technically, relays should never be in the engine bay anyway, unless well protected from the elements and heat. But as we all know - doesn't do any harm and works fine. As for any other MoT issues: my car passed fine with both the wiring loom, and "m3-style" film over the rear lights, as well as chrome tinted side-repeaters. And I have 100w Ice-Blue headlight bulbs - technially a failure, but sailed through fine :) This was at a Seat garage too. I love Seat garages. They love the car, and lead times are hours, whereas VW garages just find loadsa problems to whinge about the car and have 1 week (at least!) lead times! And in Derby, the Seat and VW garage are right next door to each other. lol

Between the M1 and the M23 my detector goes off 3 times - all relatively close to each other on the M4 to Leatherhead stretch (iirc). As far as I know, though, there is never any film in the cameras as they are linked to the speed restriction signs and monitor traffic flow automatically, rather than being for speeders. But, you never really can be too sure....

Running a dip-and-high loom conversion and 100w bulbs. I can see :) Got through an MOT with them, so can't be that obviously illegal! They're Ice Blue ones, so a slight blue tint but mostly very white light. 'Tis nice :) Been in 9 months and had 1 headlight blow (about a week ago) and just over a month ago the main feed from the battery fuse blew - losing main and high beam on a pitch black road! Ooops! Good ol' foglights to the rescue (when I figured out that I could still use them after about a minute of fiddling). I keep some fuses in the glove box now - juuust in case.

Basically, yeah. I don't want to order 50 of these, for 25 people, and only a couple of us have the solution to hand for the needles. Ideally, I want a solution I can package to everybody at once, so when you sell on your spare set, you can pass this on too.

Right guys - I haven't forgotten about this, but I have been tied up with more 'expensive' things recently, so this has been on hold. I will however be completing all this in the new year for us all. Would those who don't want a place anymore please let me know - and if you would like a 'pair' let me know too! 20v Turbo has had the US version fitted to his car, which is not too dissimilar to the version I was getting made up. Except: in mph to 160, deg C temp, fuel guage F, 1/2, E and maybe without the inner ring lighting up.

Guys, these are the dials I was getting especially made up for the Corrado Forum on the link VR6 has posted. And they would be to 160mph with deg C and a proper fuel guage..... And a bargain, since you'd get 2 sets.

Mornin' all. Been reading up quite a bit on this - and no-one else seems to have had the same problem (typical, eh?). I used to have the fabled 'press clutch when pulling upto a junction and it stalls' thing - but replacing an imploded damper pot fixed that. The current problem is in this bitterly cold weather. Upon startup, the car revs to 2500rpm, stays there for about 10 seconds then stalls. I can keep it going with a bit of gas pedal, and it takes about a minute before the car runs perfectly. Bit of 'braking with handbrake and keeping the foot on the gas' required at the mo. It fixes itself if I get to drive for about a min without letting the car idle itself. What's stuck/needs cleaning/being a pain?

I have the same Kenwood headunit as G60Jet - and its working flawlessly and over 2 years old, so But my next unit will be... yup.... Alpine. :) CDA-9815RB please! That'll be my present to myself when the Xmas commission gets paid (Feb!). However, its feature listings include 'Blackout' - wassat? Not detailed on the Alpine site! In fact the Alpine site is pretty pants! Guess I'd have to blue-backlight all my dash if I got it too... 8)

The last bit is not quite true, I'm afraid. The vehicle HAS to have insurance in order to be on the road. That excludes you driving the car 3rd party with fully comp. on another car. Every vehicle has to have its own cover - in case of it any harm coming to another vehicle/human/etc. whether the vehicle is moving, parked, nicked, etc. As for a solution to your problem, Brando, sorry - think you're stuck! Your best bet is to find a company that will do a 1-month policy or something but a) might be hard to find b) will probably cost about 1/3 of your usual annual insurance.
