It may not be a perfect alarm, but the add-on options are impressive and the life-time warranty is worth its weight in gold. I had problems with mine when it was first installed - but sorted in 10 mins and been perfect ever since.

But be careful not to get a parking ticket.. :? Check the signs, as some car parks can be very anal about it. Get some exercise and park in the very quiet part of the car park where they probably won't care :) My worst experience was in a Tescos which I'd never been to before (well, this store, not Tescos ever). Stupidly, the car park wasn't exactly flat, and I came back to find an abandonned trolley resting against my wing with a nice big scratch. And funnily enough, the RAV4 two spaces to the right of my car was no longer there. Draw your own conclusions. In Derby there's a secure car park where every space has a cushion-like barrier betweem every space - makes it a little more difficult to get out, but impossible to get parking dents. Every space also has a sensor, and when you leave your car, you scan your ticket and it locks the bay. They then guarantee against it being stolen, else they'll pay for all costs. 'Tis cool - and you can only get access to the building with a ticket. Same price as a usual multi-storey too.

The chin-spoiler is the standard 50mm VR6 one. I have pondered about putting the 90mm one on as I don't want to lower the car at the moment... If there's anyone with a 90mm chin spoiler but a lowered car, and would like a swap - let me know. Its not in great condition, and there's a slight bit of overspray, but I would clean that off before the swap :)

Just rolled onto 189,000 miles.

You are more than welcome to setup a group buy here. Let me know if you need any assistance.

Yes, it is meant to. And the top speed is listed as 131mph, if I remember correctly (nerd alert)

It's G12+ that mixes with both G11 and G12. Why didn't VW call it G11.5 or something... ;)
-
Yeah, but you're about 2 weeks late...
-
Nope, I'll be in Spain 8)

Passet G60? Wassat?

Pic of the alloys for those who asked. Think next time I'll put 215s on as the 205s look a little stretched.

Its Ghia and they did a Ford Fiesta Ghia too - my parents had one!

Nope, standard on all Corrados, except the Storm, which has a Storm badge. (Key way to find a real Storm)

VW do not recommend using engine flush on a VR6 engine. I don't know about G60s and 1.8/2.0 litres engines though. There is no need to flush the engine if you do regular oil changes. If you change the oil every 5k-8k anyway, you'll find you're flushing things through quite nicely. When you do your own oil changes, you can afford a more regular schedule and keep that VW purring nicely. 189k miles and still going strong ;)

But just to put a spanner in the works - I have the original passenger+driver arm/blade setup, and can lift the wipers with the bonnet closed without any problem... The only thing is the passenger side doesn't rest completely horizontal as its slightly too long, but does mean I get the largest possible sweep area, so I really don't mind. [Edit: Pics added]

Won't be able to attend, sorry guys.

Dude, you need to get out more... getting stiff over fitting Samco's and popping/stretching stuff...

But you said the plugs were not changed. So it all depends if they check the torque and condition of plugs even though they are not part of the service. If its 'just a service', then probably not - however, if a service plus a general check-over - they should have picked it up and haven't done their job properly - whether they were loose already or they loosened them in their checks.
-
Ok, maybe more of a chance - but it may well depend on the good-will of the garage, as they can quite easily say "we didn't touch it, it's just a coincidence"
-
3 days, maybe, but 3 months for a service-related problem to occur is quite a while! You may find they say it has nothing to do with the service and it was just coincidence.

And I've just found out it was from a Mk4 Golf - so I stand corrected!
