Could this be right? Brand new VR6 steering wheels fom VW Classic?
ChrisL replied to Hofmiester's topic in Ebay and Misc
Come on dont be shy, someone post a pic of said new steering wheels please? -
Thats the one Sean, been in touch with TPS and part number 357721465A as on the link above is for 1992 and earlier models, for 1993 onwards its 536721471D and this is not available anymore.

Thanks for the help, but the diagram shows it going straight into the master cylinder but mine doesnt. dont suppose you have the part number do you Sean?

I have a pipe that runs from the clutch slave cylinder to a black 'thing' on the bulkhead. The pipe that comes from the cylinder has a spiral in it then goes to a flexi bit then back to rigid pipe to the bulkhead bit. My question is, is this pipe available or can it be split apart so the rigid parts can be re-made?

Cheers, just ordered one!

I just want to say how great the service is from VW Heritage and especially from Anna. Can't recommend them enough. -
They are great but long way from bleeding unfortunately. Need to clean up my ABS pump next but not sure hows best to tackle it.
-
Are both sides the same as I need to change the passenger side of mine.

Its tough juggling family life around doing the car and most my life is spent by a swimming pool with my daughter - 6 times a week to be precise!! I try and get a couple of hours on the car here and there. Anyway, my new brake lines arrived today and they are fantastic, I got both front to rears and all the other 4 that go into the ABS pump so every brake pipe under the bonnet is new! Alex did a top job on them and cant recommend them enough. Sorry for the bad picture These 2 pipes also arrived today along with clip that holds them to the bulkhead, new drop links were also in the package

Had the thinners and toothbrush out tonight to finish cleaning the floor pan: Before And after:

Looks nice Kip, original just how you like them. Looks like its had plenty of time and effort from the last owner.

You dont ask, you dont get.

It wont be the heat shield lol!
-
Thanks but not Exhaust, it got a supersprint for Xmas last year! When I did the back last year I snapped one of the front to rear brake lines and replaced it in copper and it never looked right. I though I'd best change it so it looked right under the bonnet, then I had a thought that the new one would stand out against the others on the ABS pump so.... I get my new brake lines next week, complete front set inlcuding the ones from the master cylinder that run accross the bulkhead to the ABS pump. I've also ordered the 2 large ABS pump pipes from classic parts.

Definately not Kip! My Aluminium (gearbox etc will be getting painted in aluminium paint to reduce maintenance so wont be totally original like yours. I did want to check with you on the catalytic converter bottom shield, did you get a new one or clean it? Thanks Michael but not the steering rack, its in the boot of my daily, I'm taking it to work to take the rods off for shot blasting! Anyone breaking a VR with the shield on? Your correct James, its not as good as either.
-
Not sure if I'd thought about breaking it Michael, but I suppose in some way I am! Did you not find the part number for the top shield? Parcel contents, hmmm, should arrive about Thursay and the box is about 7ft long apparently Its on speedlines at the moment, well just 2 anyway.... 'When its done' I think is quite appropriate Kip. Hopefully it will look as good as yours.

Parts stripped and ready to go for shot blasting tomorrow. Stripped the driveshafts as they are looking pretty rough and beyond a lick of hammerite. Had the last of my exhaust heat sheilds vapour blasted last week and they have come up perfectly: All new bolts and clips sorted last week too. Waiting for a big parcel next week which I can't wait for!

Keep the pictures coming then Sean. How long do you think to get it back on the road?

Good work, buy looks all to familiar! and the costs just get worse.....
