Wouldnt mind some more pics, i struggle to get good ones. I was really lucky that Bill's car was for sale when i started looking for one, it was a great base to start with. got the gearbox painted and it looks great, will post a picture when I get all the yellow zinc parts back on.

I think its just a bad angle for the wheels, if you look at other pictures on the RH's they really suit it. I have the silver headlight surrounds in my garage if you fancy a change Michael....
-
Here's a couple of yours I took from a VW Summer Nights meet, 2005 I think.
-
Cheers Michael, hasn't really changed in all that time. Thanks Sean, I was going to do that when I fit the bumper back on!
-
Sorry to keep posting pictures, if it was printed it would be like a flick book of the build! Got my brakes discs skimmed and painted and fitted the brakes today: More updates soon, been painting the gearbox this afternoon.
-
Got the bracket off, had to strip a fair bit off to get off though. Thanks for the help. what a nightmare on the VSR, can you powdercoat with filler? I am sure you'll get it sorted and it will look great.

It's the second bracket from the left on the picture with the slot In it.

Hi Michael, not sussed it yet. Good luck at the show

Thanks Sean, zinc plating is great but once you start, you just end up looking for more bits to do. I've even done the dipstick tube! Cheers Dave, I did think about getting some done in stainless at work but wanted to keep a bit more original. The car doesn't really go out in bad weather so shouldnt be to bad I hope!

These are glorious and if I hadn't spent so much I would have as a second set. Would these need arch work on the car to fit? -
Got my coilovers finished today, after esculating costs I decided to refurb for now. So Before: and after, quite chuffed with these: Got the susupension built back up, just waiting for my discs to be cleaned and these will be ready to go back on wheels!: And while the coilovers where being plated I got a few more bits done:

I went for Yokohama Prada 2's, ace tread pattern and side walls are smart too! Got them of mr lobitos, great service and price. I'm currently searching for a trusted tyre fitter in Yorkshire!
-
I've just bought some 205 40's for my 17's, fit nice on a 7.5" wheel. 195's will give a stretch look if that's what you want.

Shiny bits… The second bracket from the left off the gear selector, how does this come off please?
-
Looks so familiar Sean! I don't know about you but I can add to my list of jobs to do quicker then I can take them off! Engine looks great and I'm sure the gearbox will when your finished. You really are turning the car round from when you bought it.
-
Cheers guys, I've gone down a slippery slope for sure!!! Just spent 5 hours with a wire wheel cleaning bolts, brackets and coilovers ready for zinc coating.
-
Thanks but its not original enough to worry the other concours entrants.
-
Got most of the bits off the engine so its ready to paint, I was going to get a new sump but with cost rising decided to fettle some of the marks on mine and get it powder coated. Got the gearbox on the drive too and gave it a clean down prior to painting it, pretty pleased with the results Before: And after: Jobs for the following week are: rebuild steering, suspension and brakes so it can sit back on wheels Also, just realised that Elsecar is a week earlier then I thought so the car definately wont be ready. All out for Stanford no though.

I like them i think. fill the arches well
-
Heres mine

Thanks Sean, make sure you get the nylon powder coat, its thicker and longer lasting! I also get them prime coated first. The rebuild has started, I have the subframe fitted and all brake pipes back in place. Just cleaning my coilovers (was going to buy new but due to esculating costs need to keep these for now). Suspension, brakes and steering should be complete by next week leaving just the gearbox and engine to clean and paint.

Driveshafts powder coated, cleaned and rebuilt with genuine vw clips! Front hubs rebuilt to after powder coating, ABS ring shotblasted and zinc plated. Also, just ordered my new tyres for the RS's under my bed!
