Ron's Blackberry VR6 - A11 VRX - Getting her back on the road
ChrisL replied to Hofmiester's topic in Members Gallery
Looking good Sir, RH ZW1's just suit the Corrado and especially a Blackberry one. Definately wouldnt mind some of these. -
Me and Matt will be at Woodhall services for 7:15am
-
I really like. the CH's too, they just suit the corrado so well. Like Matt says, keep em.

Thanks for the help, had another quick bleeding session tonight whilst setting up my coilovers and it's seems to have improved the pedal. I did it the old fashioned way with the help of the wife and looked to get some decent slugs of air from the drivers side rear!! Fingers crossed it will be ok. How is the clutch done without an eezibleed please?
-
Thanks again guys, I'm taking it to a mate on Friday who has a garage and he's offered to lend me a hydraulic bleed kit, would this be the same as an easibleed?
-
Thanks chaps, what tyre pressures do you use when using the eezibleed?
-
Apprehensive is an understatement!! I was finding loads of little bits to do just to delay things. I bled the brakes with a Gunsons Eezibleed kit and put a fair bit of fluid through and went round a couple of times. Any tips on getting any air out that might be traapped somewhere? I did strip the ABS pump but I guess this will just re-fill during the bleeding process? I dont need my ignition on for bleeding do I???
-
That ABS pump is different to my VR one, the valve body is a lot shorter.

Well another weekend spent under the Corrado, but finally today it took its first breath of fuel since September and fired into life!! Started with no problems and got everything back together. it was raining but managed to drive it forwards and backwards a little in the garage to check the gears. The only thing i would say is the clutch feels really light and there is a fair amount of travel on the brake pedal but I havent driven it for a long time and when your used to newer cars its hard to say if its normal or not! Might get the garage to check it out. So its going to the garage for tracking / camber setting this week and then a good clean for Sunday! Oh and tyres fitted to the RS's so these need to go on too.

Those pictures are great, they really show the paintwork off. And you've finally got the wheels you've been after, good find.
-
I think the gear shifter would look better if it wasn't on top of the plastic centre consul, maybe if that was stripped out and a similar handbrake fitted. The car looks really cool though.
-
Good stuff Matt, those pictures make it look like a painting. Those bolts are a pain, especially when you didnt need to remove it anyway lol!
-
Thanks Ray, I dont know which way the engine spins though lol!
-
Thanks guys, which way do I spin the pump please? clockwise or anticlockwise?
-
I've been bleeding my PAS system tonight and I have the front up in the air and started turning lock to lock. The fluid reservoir dropped so I topped up again then put the cap back on, I continued turning lock to lock until I noticed a big squirt of fluid come up out of the reservoir bottle!! This never happened last time I changed the pump. I didnt have the engine running if that makes any difference. Should this happen or do I have a problem somewhere please?
-
Well I think I officially have a problem... cleaned the cat heat sheild last night But then I'm looking at the cat thinking how grubby and rusty it looked, so I had a quick go with the wire wheel and then an hour later Shame only the MOT man will ever see it.....

This reads so wrong in the preview pane at the side!!

Elsecar mega meet + uk rallye golf show 2014
ChrisL replied to macvwnut's topic in Event Announcements & Discussion
Congrats to Judith and Goldie on the wins!! So gutted I missed the night before and the show but the wife was away and I was on child minding duties - oh and car rebuilding... Sorry to hear about your break in judith, glad no damage was done or anything stolen. -
Another good night on the car, its now like this: And my painted gearbox all covered by wiring and water hoses!
-
Hi Sean, this is the clip in question:
-
Thanks but really after a standard clip.
-
I'm after the twin clip that holds the small water hose that goes from the top of the reservoir bottle to the radiator top hose. It clips to the black bracket that holds the reservoir bottle and fuse / relay block. Hope this explains which one!! I couldn't find it on ETKA. Cheers
-
How is that ever going to be ready for Monday night, if it will can you come and finish mine on Tuesday?
-
Cheers Guys! appreciate the compliments. THe battery cover was on the car when I got it, I just assumed they were standard.
