  1. Looks like I've found a nice straight, unmolested VR for sensible money
  2. Picked mine up late this afternoon, only sent my cluster down on Wednesday and Stu was in the area today so we arranged to meet up. Lights look totally OE in the cluster and the quality is obvious, this is no cheap and shoddy shift light - Incredibly easy to programme and of course, has an on/off switch as well. Great little improvement to the Corrado and I honestly don't know how they can be sold at this price with the quality they have delivered. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
  3. The more I think the more indecisive I'm getting, lets hear your opinions on what you think I should buy Will be a daily driver, probably about 15,000 miles a year, going to use the Bora more often from now on, insurance is not an issue on any of them (already checked it out), fuel economy is not a massive factor (25p per mile work allowancesees to that), do want something reasonably fun, pretty comfortable, not too bothered about refinement, I'm a saddo who doesn't mind mechanical noise. So, on to the options: 1. Golf GTi 8v Colour Concept - FSH, 71k miles, very well looked after and available at £2.2k, yellow, which I like. Plus is economy and low running costs, minus is that its boring 2. Corrado VR6 - 134k miles, no chains done, black with cloth interior full VWSH to 100k then home maintained. Totally standard and same owner for last 8 years - can be had for just less than 3k. Plus is that its a VR and looks like good value, minus is the small matter of chains and possible running costs 3. Scirocco G60 - seems pretty close to being a new car, built by JMR so I know its been converted properly, have my cars maintained by JMR so continuity is OK - for sale at £3.2k. Plus is that its mint and bound to be a lot of fun, minus is that its not going to be as refined as the others 4. Passat G60 Syncro - looks immaculate, for sale at £3k. Plus is that its rare and its a G60, minus is its age and possible running costs
  4. All depends on what car you would be offered and what monthly allowance you'd be given - once you know these then its pretty straightforward to work out what will be best for you. Remember that a monthly allowance is taxable
  5. They are surely no worse than Ferrari vetting customers for their limited run cars. IIRC they only build about 50 cars a year, always have a waiting list and are profitable - thats a position that not many British car manufacturers are familiar with Personally theres a lot of cars I'd own in preference to a Bristol but I greatly admire the fact that they are totally independant and do things their own way
  6. Good link to the Bristol website giving details of the standard Fighter and Fighter S - this is definitely not a backyard special http://www.bristolcars.co.uk/BristolFighter.htm
  7. Bristols have a reputation for being one of the best built cars in the world. The old Beaufighter wasan ugly pig and pretty antiquated but quality was superb. The Fighter is actually a pretty sophisticated bit of kit and they have a reputation for only announcing new models once the first customer car has been delivered.
  8. Liam Gallagher drives a Bristol but they would not sell him a new one. The early Bristols (401) were incredibly aerodynamic and were heavily based on BMW technology
  9. I think its gorgeous, Bristol still vet their customers very carefully. The previous owner, Tony Crook was notorious for turning away unsuitable customers from their one and only showroom in Kensington.
  10. Count me in, will it look like the one in the vid or is that a seperate box containing the LEDs I see in the above pic. Will it come with reasonable fitting instructions? How do you want payment
  11. This is slightly more money but with a lower mileage and the pictures I have seen it really does look superb - think this may be a safe buy
  12. Going to look at what has been described as a mint MK3 Colour Concept on Saturday, low miles for the year, FSH, 3 door and in yellow, recently been fitted with AVO suspension. Can get it at a very fair price, know its only an 8 valve but to be honest as long as it will sit comfortably on a motorway at 80 I'm not too bothered - will have the Nugget G60 for when I feel the urge for more speed. Thoughts????
  13. Think its 23k in standard spec - sorry but over-priced especially as discounts can now be had on an R32, or theres always the Focus ST. Personally I'd take an Octavia VRs estate and lavish some money on it

    Hot and cold

Is the bypass valve easy enough to get to
  15. I'd check Volkswagen Contract Hire rates - recently reviewed and about the most competitive in the industry at the moment, I'd happily put you in touch with someone who would look after you properly
  16. I bought VAG - not had good experience of other senders - as always, its not cheap, I think about £15-18 Two minute job to fit, it sits on top of the oil filter housing, might need to move a pipe or two to one side but no need to remove anything. Its got a single wire running from it. Its a tiny little brass thing that just screws in
  17. I had a similar problem - changed the oil temp sender and its now giving normal readings again
  18. I told my dad that fellow Corrado owners were sending him their best wishes - thanks, it really helped lift his spirits Unfortunately, my dad passed away peacefully in the early hours of this morning - his last few weeks were incredibly precious to both myself and him, we said everything that needed to be said to each other and thankfully the last thing he ever heard me say to him was "I love you"
  19. This is one of a tiny number of red Corrados that I like

The company I work for run a load of new Passats - we are losing serious credibility with clients because so many meetings are having to be cancelled because the cars are forever breaking down. Dealers are tearing their hair out with electrical problems and misfires on the TDi engines. Whats the point of a quick car if there's no guarantee you're going to get to your destination - might as well buy an Alfa 159 Sportwagon - at least it will attract admiring glances on the hard shoulder
  21. I could well be interested in a set of these if a GB is put together
  22. Its Lambo's current demonstrator, carries the plate YEV 1L but with no space - so we have a police liveried car with a totally illegal number plate
  23. This could be a minter for less than 4k http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?t=48858
  24. Have the chance to buy a 2 owner, FSH VR6 - metallic blue, cloth interior, 139k, 11 months MOT, a bit of tax. Car is described as very good condition - lets revise that down to average for safetys sake. I can buy it for £1700 - thinking about getting it, tidying it up (mainly elbow grease), running it for a while and selling it on in the Spring - does a £1700 purchase price give me the opportunity to at least get my money back come the good weather
  25. Apparently two or three in each of his businesses - gut feeling is they will be mainly VW and Audi
