  1. Well i went out and had another go and suprise suprise its no different, did get air out at all corners but pedal just feels the same.. I cant think of anywhere who i could take it to to get it sorted tomorrow as id really like this sorted. Also failed to get the exhaust put on today as the guy who i was going to ask is on holiday. On the plus side i paid 100 quid for a round piece of paper that in 6 months is worthless, not a happy camper....
  2. Ah, that makes it sound optional, might just sack that bit off then.. Right, im off to take the wheels off (AGAIN), unhook the handbrake and do it all again... I may be some time... :)
  3. Ah, the compensator?? Anyone ideas of how to wedge it open?? Kepp it coming Dom, all handy info..
  4. Appreciate the reply peeps.. What do you mean by Bias Vv?? I did do it with the handbrake cables attached so ill try again with them off and go round a lot of times till im sorted..
  5. Right, ive just refitted my rear beam and have Mk4 rears, new rear brake lines and flexis and have attempted to bleed the brakes and am a bit stuck.. This is where im at: Ive been round each wheel, back - front, ABS Block and Master Cylinder and done the correct procedure as per when i fitted the 288s but they are still uber spongy. Im starting to think that the reservoir was empty before i started and have read that this needs extra stuff doing to sort. Talking to a mate today he said do the master cylinder first and then go round each one as per normal.. Anyone have any ideas on what the best plan is??
  6. Is it the GSF one that comes with a metal impellor??
  7. No worries Steve, it was made up by a compnay called JKM who are based in Pompey..
  8. Looking nice, paint looks lovely.. Why did you get rid of the ARB??
  9. Thanks very much Andy.. Not really done any mods as such just sorting bits a pieces out that needed doing, rear beam, rear brakes, trim bits that needed tidying, new exhaust.. Still saving for the RSs and reckon ill be good to go in a few months, cant wait... Hows yours coming along??
  10. He understand the whole thing really, interestingly though he didnt like the Corrado to drive but loved the MK2, think it reminded him of a Mk1 he had many years ago but with some power, his was only a 1.1.. Ive had some strange looks doing similar things, kwik detailer works well on inside of wheel arches, petrol tanks, rear beams etc... :)
  11. I think he means the rocker cover Judith, you are talking about the new style DOHC engine plastic.. I think there is a noise gain, i went the other way and changed my plastic for metal as it looks right for my engine bay theme..
  12. Yeah am looking forward to it Dave, should be a good weekend.. My old man is coming along so no mention of any spending, he loves cars but thinks i am "neurotic"... :)
  13. The rear bias valve on mine looked like it was reasonably new, one of the bolts had to be drilled out so got some replacements.. The bushes were fiddly. I went to a garage and he lent me a tool he had made up to use with a screw thing, i ended up using it in a vice and they went in ok, needed an extra pair of hands to hold it level while was doing the pressing. The beam itself has cleaned up really well, its been done in a satin black powder so looks as good as new. Ill launch some pics up when the exhaust is on as that is what is letting the underneath down now..
  14. Harewood 2006, seems like yesterday. My how things have moved on :D Yeah it does Judith, i didnt really expect to get the bug this badly back then, oh well, i could spend loads of money and time on something else... :)
  15. Quick update.. Got the beam back from the coaters and have built it back up with new lines, Mk4 rears new bolts etc. Big thanks to Geoff aka Phatvalver for lending a hand on sunday to put it all back together on the car. Just need new pads now which should arrive soon i hope as the last ones fell apart when i took them apart.. Road tax and exhaust fitting on Friday and then its hardcore cleaning time.. :)
  16. Its because of the shape of them you cant push them in straight. I needed to get a hold of something a similar shape and then pushed them through in a vice..
  17. Yip, thats normal, the pressure will be higher when the car is cold..
  18. Good work mate, these things always take longer than expected. The rear beam will take some time, getting it off isnt the issue, its getting the new bushes in (no garage would touch mine so had to improvise and do it myself) and then its getting it back on etc etc. No rush though, best to be done properly..
  19. HIC set me up with a policy where i coul do this and i have got the agreed value that i wanted. Id be mortified if i bananad my corrado and ended up with about 2 grand for it..
  20. That really isnt far from being the perfect Corrado in my eyes, hats off to you..
  21. The golf is definitely the lighter.. Im comparing 16v Golf to the VR corrado but the golf is a lovely winding road, responsive car and the VR is a grunty, nose of the car up under acceleration machine, both lovely but in different ways.. I think the fact that im not so anal about my Golf means i dont worry about it and can enjoy it more..
  22. The Golf is a totally different machine and i think the fact that its light means it does feel quicker and more nimble on its feet than the Corrado..
  23. Not long left down here now, im back up North as of May, ill be working out of Glasgow but am hoping to purchase a house in the next year or so in the north east.. Fair play if you need to shift them on and a rwd rado would be bonkers.. Pm on its way...
  24. Jimmi, hows it going mate? Dont think you should sell that Rado, finish it first.. New cars sound nice to say the least.. Ill give you a shout next time im in the area..
