Im in the process of dropping the ream beam for a powdercoat and rebush and have the following questions.. How do the ABS wires attach to the inside of the hubs? I have removed the stud but they wont shift, any clues? IS it best to disconnect the brake lines from the compensator and then lower the beam with the compensator still attached? Thanks in advance..

Well just do what i am trying to do to mine, over time replace everyting and itll be good as new and then at the end paint it so it looks the part, job done.. It is an ongoing process, 160k isnt the end of the world, rebuild or put something else in if you feel the need...

I dont think you should split this.. A one that isnt so good is worth more oney in parts, headlights, fogs, leather, brakes, engine with plastics etc will sell.. I think this one is too tidy for that and with the spec it has i dont necesarily think its going to be worth more money. Not everything will sell and youll be able to sell some things 5 times over..

Ive seen a CD300 on ebay that had a recon, looks like it will end up at a good price. Tempted to have a look at that as its the one that plays MP3 CDs...

If its a very early one there wont be a Karman badge on the gear surround, it will just be smooth, if you look on the inside of that chances are the part numbers will be hand written. It will have the vinyl seat backs, no plastic surrounds on the seat bases and a 3 panel leather gear knob rather than a 4 like the late ones..

I've got a stock tapedeck..... The one ive got is a cracker but its silver and doesnt look right.. I dont even think i own a tape..

That's what I've got. It does look very retro/factory. I got it in green. It was a 'bit' more than your budget though Goldie. I can imagine it was.. Im trying to be sensible, tbh i dont want to spend a bomb on music stuff, there are other areas of the car which need the money..

CALENDAR PIC :D I dunno like Fay, it is a good one but id like a better background before ill enter it for the Calender... No danger of the car being used for commuting, im desperately trying to find a garage where i can store it otherwise itll be getting a cover for its birthday and it will have to sit in my Parents back garden... Seems like we are all wanting RSs, tbh if i could think of something for about teh same price that would have the same effect id go for it but i genuinely dont think there is anything to rival them.. Im moving back to Durham and will be working just outside Glasgow so will be running backwards and forwards...

The CD300 definitely does MP3s, looks like the CD400 doesnt.. May be the one i go for as it really doesnt look much different, ill have to compare the stats and see whats what, got to admit im not an ICE expert at all.. Stu, i cant get the link to the becker to work, ill have a look on google and see if i can find that model...

Heres a few pictures of the car from today, i gave it its first coat of wax and im pleased with how it came up.. Also changed the 90mm chin today for one which is unmarked, i wonder how long it will stay like that as the last one looks a bit sorry for itself...

Which becker model are we talking about here, ive seen the Mexico one that looks like a 1950s job and is about a grand!! Junkie, is your CD400 capable of playing MP3 CDs as that is what id really like it to do??

Ive heard a supersprint on both a 16v and a VR and they are not loud, on idle and normal driving they just purr, on full throttle its a lovely noise, nothing unpleasent, ive been after an exhaust for 2 years and have listened to all sorts of systems and for me it will end up being the supersprint or the magnex. Both sound good, look good, the only cosmetic difference i can see between the two is the supersprint comes out the back of the car at the same angle as the original and the magnex comes out straight.. I dont think youd be disappointed with the system , have a look on google for some info, for the mid section and rear section its around about 350 quid excluding any potential group buy discount...
