  1. Any pics of the show winning bay?
  2. Can't help with the standard fuel pumps but my advice would be to steer well clear of the uprated aftermarket Sytec type. I had a problem with my car cutting out if I threw it round the bends when the fuel level dropped below half a tank. After doing a bit of research and speaking with Vince at Stealth, he said it sounded like I had a Sytec pump in my car and because they are shorter than standard pumps, even with his adapter plate they don't reach the bottom of the tank and this causes the symptoms I was experiencing, so he advises his customers not to run the fuel tank below 1/3 tank. Gonna be a right bundle of laughs driving to Wörthersee and stopping every 200 miles or so to fill up...
  3. I'm only messing Jon - hence the  Typical though been after a set myself for ages and when a set does come up they're 5 minutes down the road and I miss out! Hahaha hows ya luck? :D
  4. Bloody hell Jon - can't you buy him something else mate? How about a nice BMC CDA?
  5. Second dibs on the gauges in the unlikely event Jon changes his mind :)

  7. It's actually really easy to do. I'm not saying this is the best way of doing it but this is how I done it: Heat the badge up slightly with a hairdryer and gently prise the front away from the chrome surround. I made a new chrome surround with the centre removed from a PC case blanking panel as I wanted this to be completely reversible if I didn't like it but you can just cut the centre out of the original using a dremel. Cut a slot either end of the badge recess on the gear lever surround and slide a piece of el tape through. You can use any colour but I chose green. I then stuck a piece of mirrored window film on the back of the badge and glued the badge to the new surround using a 2 part epoxy resin. Then glue the whole thing back in the recess over the el tape and wire the tape to the lighting circuit on the cigar lighter socket. Hope that makes sense :) Jon if my mrs came out with that I'd just say haven't you got dishes to do or shirts iron? :D
  8. I know it's not an original idea but I thought I'd have a crack at it. Not the best pics but I think it came out pretty well :) Done the gearknob as well while I was at it but that still needs a bit more work
  9. Yep I've got that one as well and it's spot on :)
  10. No problems at all on the mobile site Neil. Ordered yesterday, arrived today - service!!! :D Cheers Jamie
  11. Nice one cheers. They look awesome Craig - fancy a set of RCs? :D
  12. The NS channel on my tray extends a lot further than the one in your pic and hits the ECU so I've cut it out and shortened it but need to fill the hole thats left. It will need a skim of filler over it to hide the joins so will need painting as well :)
  13. A bit but I wanted to keep it a surprise for you Pete :D I've cut it up so it goes on and fits nicely just need to bond the filler pieces in, fill it, sand it and paint it. Having said that though - that scuttle tray in the pic above looks different to mine. The NS channel on the one I've got extends a lot further than the one in the pic. My brother-in-laws got an early MKII so next time I bump into him I'll have a look at his, as mine came off a late GTi so may be different.
  14. Anyone running this combo on their Rado? Thinking about swapping my RCs for ZW1s but just want to make sure they're gonna go over the brakes before I go and buy a set ;)
  15. Are these available with a matt finish? I'd be in but the only thing that is stopping me is the high gloss finish. Are they as in your face shiny in reality as they look in the pictures?
  16. That's spooky - have been meaning to replace my offside mirror for a while as its de-laminating and just noticed my nearside has somehow developed a tiny crack, so this is really handy :) Great write up (not keen on the coat though)
  17. That's what I'm thinking - whether the Golf or Passat one would fit? Got to be a similar sort of size. If the MKII and Passat B3 ones weren't so horrendously expensive I'd give it a go, but it would be an expensive mistake if it didn't fit...
  18. Got any pics of the headlamps Andy? Just requested some samples for mine from Neil :) I know I'm probably preaching to the converted here but be really careful using a metal spanner on your centre caps, even a rubberised coated one. The alloy on the centres is unbelievably soft - I've noticed a couple of small marks on mine from using the plastic spanner. I put masking tape round them now before I take them off
  19. Well I only wanted to spend £20-£30 on a CD box clumpy so if thats what you want for it, consider it sold! Have it wrapped and I'll have my people collect it first thing in the morning
  20. No way! Is that 100% deffo Kip? If so, its odd isn't it - they made them for the MKII and III and the B3 Passats, but not the Corrado... :(
  21. Ok mate no problem, just thought I'd ask :)
  22. And I'd be very interested if anyone has a cd one :D
  23. Thanks for confirming that for me - I thought that sounded a bit easy  Was originally going to order this one (get a healthy discount) http://mobile.justkampers.com/360081030001-5-bar-vdo-oil-pressure-sender.html but I need to double check the warning trigger is 7psi. Henny - don't suppose you have one of the five spare you'd be willing to part with? ;) :D Thanks again for the replies
  24. Quick question for you blokes - asked a mechanic at work if he could see if he could get me a dual oil pressure sender for the VDO gauge panel I'm about to order and he said I don't need one, I can use a piggy back connector on the standard switch - is this correct? He does normally know what he's talking about but I can't find anything online that says you can do it, everything says you either need two switches and a T piece or a VDO dual sender...
