  1. Hi Kip - Great to have a bodyshop so close you can trust. Be interested to see pictures of the before and after around the screen - I have a small patch of trouble which is mostly hidden by the rubber but I'm not sure how long the patching and anti rust treatment I've given it will stem it. I know you sent me the horror slide show from Judith's old VR! I think you could have left it a lot later to raise the tension even higher  Didn't you do something similiar last year as well - rear, side window IIRC ?
  2. Very nice Andy - you're ready for Castle Coombe now 8) Interesting that the ARB makes such a difference - feel one coming on the VR6 before too long :) What are the brakes like? Good question to ask before getting out on track
  3. Amazing. Say you drove 1 car a week would take ya about 2 years to go through the entire collection  Must employ an army of staff to keep em clean too. Most seem to have battery chargers attached so makes you wonder if they getting regular outings and not just museum pieces.
  4. Try the girl in the Ferrari - that may help
  5. Excellent! Do you reckon we can get her along to the AGM for some fast action in a Corrado :norty:
  6. Who will be first to fit one of these Kinetic Energy Revovery systems in their Corrado - apparently adds 80bhp for 7 seconds a lap  http://www.telegraph.co.uk/motoring/motorsport/2753049/Formula-1-goes-green.html
  7. Many thanks. Just confirmed with VW that this is indeed the part number I needed . Price has gone up to £46.87 but I've asked for a discount so might get it back down!
  8. Planning to replace the poly ribbed drive belt on my Storm at the next service as the existing one looks quite cracked in places now. Does anybody know the correct part number so I can quote it to the stealers as a double check?
  9. Congratulations looks a very tidy example to work with. Spend any time on here and you won't be short of ideas for upgrades and mods  The window scratches are a known problem. Check for grit in the rubbers/ worn felt before you get into more extensive investigations. Some people may have replaced their rubber trims to ensure a flush fit. Vaughan
  10. Not too scruffy at all Chris. We'll let you off cleaning duties this week as you donated a pint of the red stuff :salute: Hope the service is pain free
  11. Nice to see you getting the wider acclaim this car deserves. Really looking forward to seeing your car in the flesh at Stonor Shaun. Love a spin in it if an opportunity presents itself :) Odds on VRT Storms out numbering NA VR6s on that day? Vaughan
  12. Ah well generated some controversy and debate while it lasted..... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsport/formula_one/7955790.stm

I was about to say VAG-HAG's is the exception, rather than the rule with these 263s, but I just read Vornwend got similar gains! VAG-HAG's torque is impressive. You don't normally get over 200lb from a stock engine with such basic mods! I almost got over 200 torque (199.9) but I started 3.5 behind VAG HAG so both of us got almost exactly the same torque increase.
  14. Cheers Pete. Yes I did go for the most expensive polymer option - based on a recommendation that you had posted :) Bolts were about £8 from the stealers so they shoud be good. Looking forward to seeing yours in the flesh sometime. You have way more ambition than me and I'd love see how that new "lump" performs.
  15. Whats your list looking like then Chris? Already starting to think of rears now! I think I've spent more time on this upgrade than any other -better be worth it!
  16. All red 288s back from Bigredd (ex Bigpantsbaby), really good job they did I think: corradobrakes.jpg[/attachment:3qpth2uq] Goodridge hoses and VW discs and fixing bolts on order then we're good to go (or stop !)
  17. . Thanks for that. That's interesting - had not heard that before.
  18. Did think about those but want them to work well from cold as well as when heated ?
  19. I've just bought a 288mm Caliper and carrier set up from bigpantsbaby and want to order some greenstuffs but I'm not 100% sure of the correct part number. Does anybody running a 288mm set up with these pads have it to hand? I think its either DP21330 or DP 21324 Thanks
  20. Maybe Bernie is not thinking straight at the moment as he's facing the prospect of handing over $1 Billion dollars to his ex wife who apparently got a divorce granted without Bernie even being aware of it  I agree this is a silly rule change that could have unintended consequences and will devalue the efforts of potential champions who have fine races but don't finish 1st. Think of the number of times we have seen drivers bust a gut to get from way back on the grid into points positions or who are unfairly impeded and then make it up through brilliant driving.
  21. Thanks John - Had another hunt and found them @ £91 on Motorsportworld - they have a best price deal so if anybody knows of somewhere cheaper please shout! (Nb these are the stainless steel not zinc version) I'll have some standard front Goodridge hoses for sale soon....
  22. Anybody know what a good target price for the front hoses is? - checked a couple of websites (Venom and C&R) and they seem to be around £102 which is a lot more than I remember paying for the standard set up hoses when I replaced those a while ago
  23. Jim - I've had mine in the garaged since Sept and although I now use a trickle charger to keep the battery topped up I also try and get the engine up to operating temps at least once every 10 days (as I let it run for at least 20 minutes) This also seemed to be fine for the battery before I got the trickle charger. Also try and take her for at least a 30 minute spin when ever the weather allows The only other thing I could suggest is to try and get a solar power charger with a long lead and site the panel on the garage roof away from prying eyes? 8) I have had problems with the key fob getting unsynchronised recently - not sure if that is the key battery on the way out or just lack of use but I've taken to carrying the alarm instructions with me when I take her out just in case I need to resynchronise :?
  24. Always wanted to do a road trip to Scotland one year and all this talk of fine roads is tempting me to bring it forward :) Like John's suggestion of the "dawn dash" to Hawick - made a note of that one :salute:
  25. Cheers Yan - another possibility to feed into the melting pot :?
