    N/S VR6 hub

Ok, looking for the full shebang really. Let me know.

    N/S VR6 hub

Sounds good Martin! How much for postage you reckon? I'm assuming it's the whole hub with Abs ring and bit the disc/wheel bolts attach to?
  3. If I weave across the road, the drone seems to diminish as I turn right so I'm thinking passenger wheel bearing again. I've put a wanted Ad up for a spare hub so I can get the bearing pressed in, and then just swap hubs. I think my current hub may be a bit past it maybe...

    N/S VR6 hub

After a passenger side VR hub, undamaged and preferably local. Whatchu got!?
  5. Look forward to seeing this at the stealth day, always loved this car!
  6. Any more photos kicking about? Mmm white on blue!
  7. Still at a bit of a loss with this one. I've had the car running up to 60mph with the wheels in the air, and been for a few drives in the passenger seat trying to find the source and I can't track it down properly. By my reckoning a bearing on the way out should be a lot hotter than a good one. So, my neighbour lent me a laser temp gauge, I took my wheel-caps off and went for a drive, then measured the temp of all the hub nuts: they were all the same. Gonna work on the car tomorrow and try and sort some of the niggles out, hopefully will come accross something useful to get this sorted.
  8. Always wondered when a Corrado would be SOTW! Nice little article ehh!
  9. Sean Jaymo did the Audi A3 dash with Mk6 Steering wheel: viewtopic.php?f=11&t=71030&start=105 Looks sweet IMO
  10. My friend works at Ricardo in Leamington and he got one of the guys there to fit the diff for me, so I'd be very suprised if they did it wrong! I'll give it a go at lunchtime and report back my findings!
  11. Might have to take you up on that mate, it's driving me a bit crazy. Swapped tyres front to back and noise still coming from the front I think. Front wheel bearings feel fine, I've taken the passenger side hub off and the Bearing is fine. Really thinking it's a diff problem possibly as the noise isn't affected by dipping the clutch, but does get louder with speed. Is it ok to put the Car up on a couple of axle stands and run it up to speed? I should then be able to get out and see exactly what's whining m
  12. That's a good shout David, cheers! I have an airbrush and some compressed gas left over from when I did my seats. I've got a nice patch that's under the bootlid that I could give it a whirl on. Is Kurust ok? I used that when I refurbed my drivetrain parts in the summer so have a fair bit left over. I'll have a look at etch primers and primers. 'Ciitng! I guess the other option is go for a driving holiday to Poland lol.

    VR6T

This photo is pure car porn. Looks stunning Graeme.
  14. Yep, totally agreed. If you were to fully strip the car down for new paint, I'm not even sure you can replace all of the exterior rubbers & plastics? Pat McCrotch said the tailgate glass trim is obsolete. How long before the window scrapers and door frame rubbers etc are all obsoleted too? Corrado ownership is stressful and expensive enough as it is, what with many stories of vandalism and thefts on here, and to have mint paintwork to worry about on top of that? No ta. Immaculate cars are like red rags to a bull to the local scum. They'll take great delight in keying it. £3K+ down the drain. Nah, what we should do is matt black the car instead. If it gets chipped or scratched, no problem, just blast a can on top and it'll blend in perfectly :D Matt and satin paints seem to be trendy these days too. It boils down to wants, needs and reality. Sure, I've spent 1000s on the performance side of my car, but at least I get to enjoy it every day and no one can see it. You can't see your new paint job from the driver's seat ;) Show cars are obviously a different matter, paint is everything, but daily cars I just think the money is better spent elsewhere personally, like a thorough inspection for rust to see if it's even worth repainting in the first place! Then patch it up and go out get the good stuff, like coilies and more grunt :D I would much rather have an old car where people think "Yeah it's a great example for it's age" than "When was that resprayed then?". 100% with you on that one mate. Is there a guide anywhere on here to fixing small patches of rust yourself? I noticed a few tiny rust patches when I cleaned my car on Sunday. I have a touch up pen and lacquer from VW, but not sure what to do with it tbh! Is it even worth it when it's still so cold and wet out?
  15. To be honest I was sold a long time ago, it's been pencilled in for a while but really thought I should have a test before paying the deposit and setting it in stone. I wasn't disappointed :) Edit: There's been nothin easy about getting my car into the mechanical condition required for the conversion over the past 12 months!
  16. Well Saturday saw me dropping a wardrobe at the gfs parents house, which entailed me driving right past Stealth. Would be rude not to go and meet Vince after a year chatting :) Went out in the Turbo demo and all I can say is WOW! So refined with normal driving but as others have said: Mental past 2500rpm! Car is going in first week of March for the conversion, Vince reckons with the work I've already done,'and a 2.5inch exhaust I should see 380bhp. Good job I'm getting the Racelogic plumbed in too! Was very impressed by the Traction Control on The test drive.
  17. Put my name down too for a couple of runs. Turbo should be finished end of March, would be good to meet some more members too.
  18. I don't think you're alone in your predicament at all. I find myself in a very similar situation having spent a fortune on the mechanicals, while leaving the bodywork. I now find myself with little rust patches appearing everywhere and the respray/reshell options one I've been considering for the future. Put some photos up of the bad areas, maybe someone on the forum can advise you? I've often wondered if there were any amateur painters on the forum who'd be willing to help out?
  19. When you reconnect the battery the ecu needs to relearn it's basic settings, one of which is the idle. Have a look in the Knowledge Base there's a guide to the ECU reset procedure :)
  20. I'd say do it yourself if you've got the time/tools. The only potentially difficult part is getting the rear cam sprocket off. I just bought a new one for about £35 as I didn't want to faff about.
  21. Yeah, I can't see how it would hurt the diff but just wanted to check. The noise is the same with the clutch in or out, and gets louder with speed so it can only be a bearing really. I've ruled out N/S front bearing, I span the rear N/S wheel and it seemed nice and smooth, a little bit of float as it should be. I guess I'll try the O/S after work. It just really annoys me as I replaced all the bearings about 2000 miles ago.
  22. I took my hub into my local garage this morning and they agreed with me, the bearing is still fine on the passenger side. They reckon it could be the rear bearing, but I can "feel" the droning through my feet at the front so I don't think it can be the rears. Does anyone have any info on whether towing can harm an LSD? I'm loathe to remove the drivers hub just to find thats still good too but really need to get to the bottom of this asap. I swear this car hates me.
  23. UPDATE! I swapped the rear tyres with full tread onto the front hoping the noise would go. It didn't! I've taken the passenger side hub off this evening and the Bearing seems nice and smooth so I'm a bit worried. I guess it may be coming from the driver side but I'm pretty sure it's not. I picked up a bearing earlier so will get that pressed in tomorrow. It's got me wondering: my car was towed for about 3 miles last week, I had my foot on the clutch the whole time but could this have damaged my Wavetrac LSD at all?
  24. Hmm, maybe I'll put that idea on the back burner for a while then. I only get 23mpg out of mine at the moment, but I guess single figures when hooning would soon start to get annoying! Back to the Stealth Turbo + Racelogic plan it is then! Just wish payday would hurry up lol
  25. They are very attractive! No other car has drawn my attention away from the Corrado to be honest, but I was on Youtube last night and listening to that V8 made me want one so badly! I've heard they are expensive buggers to run though, although I'm used to that with the VR lol.
