  1. Any updates on this? Just re-read this for the Nth time and would love to hear what's become of it?
  2. Ok my car's been at Stealth for 3 1/2 weeks now so my mind has officially started to wander, so bear with me. I've been reading/thinking a lot about front end grip when FI, I'll have a diff and Traction Control, but would wider tyres also help? I currently run 205s on 7.5J rims, having had a look around it looks like you can fit 235s to 8J rims. I know that a larger contact area will obviously provide more grip, hence the reason RWD cars have such wide tyres, but what effect would 225/235s have on the front? Would they wreck the steering/handling? Has anyone ever tried it?
  3. I've been running my car on the standard map with 262 cams for a year with no piston explosion lol so I'd say a 263 map with 264 cams shouldn't provide too much of a problem, although not optimum obviously!
  4. Do you mean the hose that connects to the fuel rail? There the hardlines that run under the car join to 2 short rubber lines just near the bulkhead. You can get replacement High Pressure Fuel Line from Halfords if you need it quick. I think the Internal diamter is 7.6mm, and it's about £6.99 per pack. You need 2 packs to do both hoses. VW want c.£70 I think for the same hoses.

    MK4/Polo Shifter

I think the Polo parts came to around £100 from memory Another thing to add to this is the way the Reverse light is setup is slightly different. After a lot of delving I found that part 020 945 415 A will fit the standard VR reverse plug, and also screw into the Mk4 style shift tower. About £10 for the switch.
  6. Oh go on then, £30 posted! Will PM payment details.
  7. Hmm, which bit specifically do you mean? Have you got a photo of your broken one? I'll try and get a better photo but there are no broken bits.
  8. I have a rack and pipes in the shed. Will get some photos later :)
  9. Heres a couple of photos: £35 posted if it's the right part.
  10. I take it you mean the tower that drops into the top of the gearbox? Shift cables then attach to it. If so I've got one spare ready to send. Will get a photo in the morning.
  11. Does the Black temp sensor (one of the right of the thermo housing) also control the Aux Water pump? I always thought it only controlled the super high (110 deg) fan speed? Mine has been disconnected for about 3 years eeek.
  12. WOW that shifty looks amazing, good skills there for sure! Get it fitted.
  13. Yes Tom I'd live the brackets if possible, the l shaped ones yeah? How much do you want for em? Would it be possible to send em straight to Stealth as my car is there at the moment for the Turbo doo dah.
  14. Hi Tom, Do you have the passenger side rad support bracket, the L-shaped bracket with bolt and bush that screws into the top of the slam panel? Need one asap! Thanks
  15. Hi mate, have you got a passenger rad support bracket, the L-shaped bracket with bolt and bush that screws into the top of the slam panel. Need one asap!
  16. My cars at Stealth at the moment getting its Turbo conversion. It seems that my L-shaped passenger rad support bracket, bush and thread insert that mounts it to the slam panel has gone missing, just wondered if anyone one they don't need? Need it as soon as possible! Thanks, Andy
  17. Congratulations getting it running, I remember all too well the anxious moments before the first turn of the key, ten scrambling around trying to work out what I'd forgotten. Top Work! :)
  18. Really impressive work Tom, love reading the daily updates. I did a similar thing last year and it's really satisfying to sit down at the end of a long day having made good progress! Hope it continues today :)
  19. I got mine from Awesomegti a year or so ago. Good price and quick delivery, reverse LCD is a worthwhile mod while you're at it IMO.
  20. How big is the aircon rad? Space is at a premium with the intercooler infront of the normal rad, but there's still room to fit a 13-row Mocal in there somehere on the drivers side, so I'd assume with some careful routing you could get an AC rad under the passenger headlight somewhere, depending on its size of course!
  21. Cheers bud, how's yours coming along now? You got it mapped yet? We'll meet oneday soon Jon! Get yours back on the road! I'll ask Vince when I speak to him next, I'm sure I'll hear about some part of my car falling off soon enough LOL All I know is it's a Helix jobbie, I assume the same as the one in the demo car, which felt perfect. You've got a paddle clutch in at the moment yeah?
  22. Dropped it in today :) :) :) 2 anxious weeks ahead!
  23. Managed to refit the Mocal over the weekend having broken my original sandwich plate, and also fit a new radiator. Seems to run a lot cooler now, and isn't losing any fluid for the first time in a while. After a year of seeminglu endless preparations and problems, I've finally managed to get my car to Stealth! Dropped it in earlier this afternoon, and I'm hoping to have it back for the 20th. Having the Stage 1+ Turbo conversion, Helix Clutch + release arm, lightened flywheel, uprated fuel pump, 2.5" 2-box custom exhaust and Racelogic Traction Control fitted. To say I'm excited is an understatement, but I'm also quite scared as just when I think nothing can go wrong, this car has a very nasty habit of suprising me with wallet emptying consequences! Fingers crossed everything goes smoothly :)
