Lets go overkill on the old headlight loom shall we....
krnau replied to deanpompey's topic in Exterior
there are 4 pins in each headlight plug. passenger side: a) positioning light (well, the first position of the headlight switch) -> does not need to be relayed b) low beam -> goes to relay number 1 c) high beam -> goes to relay number 2 d) earth (common for all the other 3 pins). driver side: a) positioning light (well, the first position of the headlight switch) -> does not need to be relayed b) low beam -> goes to relay number 3 c) high beam -> goes to relay number 4 d) earth (common for all the other 3 pins). if that's not clear, I'll upload a quick diagram tmrw :) -

well really it's done internally in the headlight, but you will put the relays out of it so why worry about it? Sorry, I don't understand what you mean :? -

no. I meant, relays (and fuses): 1 x d/s low beam 1 x d/s high beam 1 x d/s fog 1 x p/s low beam 1 x p/s high beam 1 x p/s fog so in the case that one fuse/relay dead, you still have the other ones. i.e. passenger side low beam relay/fuse goes wrong, you still have driver's side one :) -

what I did was to use two relays per each headlight. It is, in the first headlight, one relay for the low beam, and another one for high beam. Headlight connector has 4 pins. One is earth, one for positioning, one for low beam, one for high beam. you really have to use a polymeter in order to guess which pin is used for low and which one for high beam, and then find the earth pin. Then, if you upload a picture of the relays you have bought, I will help you about the electrical connections. and same for fogs: one relay per fog. so if you want to uprate everything, you need 6xrelays (and 2+ for positioning lights if you want  ) -
I don't own a g60 but thank you for posting it :salute:

shouldn't fuse be placed on the positive-side wires instead of the negative one? Just to ask!

what audi did they come out of? Doesn't UV light kill your sight whilst driving?
-
how about some pics? 8) are them illuminated theirselves? which car did they come out of?

I'd check oil pressure with a gauge if I were you. I think that low oil pressure isn't something to play with... get a gauge from ebay if you don't have one

when engine is OFF but ignition is ON, the light will flash without any sound coming out of it. is it what you meant?

do get it! I read a post yesterday in this forum regarding to rain-x, so I got get some and it's incredibly good  "summer" rain in barcelona are short, but really strong, and I could drive at about ~85Mph without the wipers on :) but be careful not to get stuck looking at the water getting away from your windscreen

my experience with rubber-made engine mounts and sometimes (well, what KR engine is capable of) of extreme driving is, in last year: -replaced front engine mount 4 times -rear engine mount x 3 -gearbox x 2

I am from Spain, so a phone call would cost me more than the ignition coil itself probably

Hi there, I've sent several e-mails to vwspares.co.uk to no response from them :( I'd like to buy an ignition coil for a KR engined corrado, as well as some air filters; however, despite being these listed in their web site, I can't see the button for "add to chart" :? does anyone know about it? thanks!

 I got the full lighter+housing+surround. well it was too expensive yes!!
-
Where did you get a red one from? egay. I paid 15euro including shipping. You can get them at the stealers cheaper, but it was one of those moments
-
not the best improvement, not the most amazing mod... but I dropped a red cig lighter surround in today :) you can see the pictures of the climatronic install that I promised as well :norty: :) yes, two switches need illumation, it will be done one day...... what means, next year  2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfDSCN6937 (Medium).JPG[/attachment:1w67q8es] DSCN6938 (Medium).JPG[/attachment:1w67q8es]

:| :| :| :| really good good job :notworthy: what's the point of having a vacuum gauge?
-
I got it from egay a while ago. it was a lil pricey (75euros IIRC) but it was one of those moments of maximal consumism

Hi there, the current montly failure of my corrado has been a broken seat lever cable. As known, it has two "hooks" that keep the backrest in place. One of them was broken when I bought the seats so I kept it held "up" with a wire... but last week, the cable that attaches to the lever has broken at some point between the hooks and the lever. is there any way of fixing this? and, how can I dismantle the backrest of the seat? thanks!!
-
thanks, I'll have a look at it :)

hmmm is there any way to identify the fusebox end of this wire? I'm trying to make my engine bay look a lil tidier and I would use this wire instead of the one I am using now... because I have about 32496178234wires going from the engine gay to the interior of the cabin, it looks like a spaghetti party
