Update. Got a postcard from the Houses of Parliament from my MP saying my enquiry was being looked into and I would recieve a reply in due course. Not exactly holding my breath.

Quick check on the crank bolt. Whip out the plugs. Stick a dowel or similar down the No 1 plug hole. Turn the engine (might be better jacking up the drivers side wheel, putting the car in gear and using the wheel to turn the engine over) until the dowel rises to tdc, i.e stops being pushed up by the piston and before it starts to go down again. Check the alighnment of the pulley and cambelt cover timing marks, they should be spot on. If no timing mark is visible rotate the engine another half turn till it appears. On mine the timing mark on the pulley was retarded about an inch. See last post in here for parts and how to fix if not too bad. http://direct.the-corrado.net/showthread.php?55045-Fate-tempted-and-it-retaliated/page2

Don't sing "Have a Drink On Me" in the pub karaoke, you'll be trampled in the rush.

I took mine off, sprayed WD40 into it, gave it a shake and was amazed at the crud that came out. Did it a few times till the WD40 stayed clean. After the deed was done the exterior was also clean as a result of the WD 40 going everywhere. 20 mins max from bonnet opening to bonnet closing.

A wee bit work to do, but you've came to the right place.

Try here http://www.scribd.com/doc/18010597/eBook-English-Car-Repair-Manual-Bosch-K-KE-Jetronic-Mechanical-Fuel-Injection Lots of reading about K and KE Jetronic. Hope it helps. If you Google KE-Jetronic diagnostics manual you gets loads of info.

slimline fan not working - alternator fault or something else?
Wullie replied to bristolbaron's topic in Engine Bay
If the battery light is staying on then the alternator is not charging the battery. Check the alternator is putting out enough volts using a voltmeter, should be about 14 volts. Check the connections on the alternator. There's a blue wire (I think) that must be connected securely. The battery could be goosed. Easiest way to check is by sticking in a known good one. Pinch your Mums, dads, wifes, girlfriend, boyfriends, neighbours, mates battery and see if that makes a differnce. -
Google K Jetronic, loads of info out there as the system was used in loads of cars. If I remember right there's a setup guide on one of the Golf forums written by our own kevhaywire which takes you step by step. Maybe someone on here has a link.

Just sent an e-mail to my MP using the text above though I used gobbledygook as I think it's cooler than tripe. Now I wait with bated breath to see if I get a reply. ---------- Post added at 04:23 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:14 PM ---------- At least the auto reply is working E-mails are treated in the same manner and the same level of importance as other communications i.e. post, telephone or fax. As the office is very busy all cases will be prioritised accordingly and I would ask therefore that you not be disappointed if you do not receive an immediate reply. Parliamentary protocol dictates that a Member of Parliament can only deal with issues on behalf of their own constituents. Please ensure that you have included your name and full postal address (within the constituency of Paisley & Renfrewshire South). If this was not included in your e-mail please re-send with a full postal address. Thank you Constituency Office of Douglas Alexander MP

Perhaps worth it if they were brand new, unused and covered in gold leaf, otherwise, as they stand seller = numpty

I seriously doubt anyone could understand that. It is total gobbledygook

But the white one has a set of Sebrings with centre caps. Centre caps are like hens teeth

Black M reg in Broomlands in Paisley. Was on a bus so only saw it at the last minute. Could there be another one near me!

Not sure about alternative alternators but have you checked what the current one is putting out, it should be around 14 volts. If it's down then it's probqbly the brushes that are worn. A brush? regulator unit is about £10 from ECP, their part no 414 44 0050. Replaced mine last year and it's a ten minute job.

You have too look closely

Took a "Long Cut" home along the back roads and spent an hour trying to resurrect my heeling and toeing skills, was great when i got the hang of it again. Haven't enjoyed myself as much for ages. Only thing missing was a bit of Wagner on the stereo.

Round ones!

Any of the vacuum pipes should do as the idea is just to suck some redex into the engine to get burned, it handily cleans as it goes and is an upper cylider lubricant as well. It does produce a lot of smoke when used this way. Back in the day used to get a squirt in the tank every time you filled up. Penny a squirt and 3/ (or 15p) a gallon. Now I just made myself feel really old.

Welcome to the forum. Nice to see another Scottish Corrado

Drape a semi naked woman over it?

Another thought, why not print out the Corrado reviews that are on here and stick them on it.

Go to your local walpapper shop and see what they have either in paper or vinyl. Pick something you like then stick it on. I did a Mini this way back when I waas sproglet. Finish it off with a coat of clear varnish or lacqur or varnish. If you get fed up with it just strip it and get something else
