it is very similar with the VR, as the bently doesnt cover the UK ABV 2.9 lump i know i personally do as you mention - ie use a bently for all the main stuff & then try to get a book which specifically covers the engine :) i find the bently manual a great reference & a big help when trying to get a job sorted in my mind before carrying it out

g0ldf1ng3r replied to oli1vw's topic in General Car Chat
if it aint what it says in the tin then surely you could give them the 'sale of goods act....blah blah.....not supplied product paid for....not fit for purpose' hardball lines -
im currently running 195/50/15 on the front & 205/50/15 on the rear & all is fine, she was mot'd like it too in fact, & pls correct me if im wrong but i believe that up until the final face lift model the rado's were fitted with 195/50/15s all round :) on the ABS front, from what i can gather the sensors pick up the signal or whatever from a circular disc with lots of holes in the region behind the brake disc....thus not wheel dependant if you get me hope that hleps lol

now this doesnt happen every day..... during lunch at my sisters yesterday my brother in law called me out as someone wanted to look at my rado i took my keys outside to find a 5th gear presenter admiring my baby & saying he has always loved corrados & especially the VR6 i thought it only right to take him for a quick grin inducing launch down the nearby country lanes, throughout which the praise continued.....wow the sound is awesome....have the back seats ever had anyone sit in their leather.....god damn it she pulls doesnt she.....to quote just a few :norty: needless to say much car talk continued, including that of his 550bhp bmw & 993 project....but it always came back to my rado lol all ended with him saying thank you for taking him out for a run & thanks for flooring it   oh & left me with a very big smile once again long live the corrado!! :luvlove:

g0ldf1ng3r replied to Flexso's topic in General Car Chat
I have my VR insured with adrain flux, £360 fully comp, & they always try 1 on by giving a higher quote than last yr at renewal time a quick hunt around, beat their offer then ring them 2 get them 2 reduce their price & I renew give em a try & get the VR kept :) -
its funny....time & time again i read posts like this on here & its like people have literally taken the thoughts from my mind.....thank you!!! its always nice too when a complete random stranger is staring longingly at your rado whilst saying you are a ''lucky, lucky b4st4rd''....as happend to me the other day

88 miles £20 wtf?? now 120.5 getting better!
g0ldf1ng3r replied to marmite monster's topic in General Car Chat
I only use 99 ron fuel, either tesco super or shell v-power (now they have moved from 98 to 99 ron) always fill up £25,mixed journeys always include a blast here & there, and I usually get about 140 ish miles mfa on my 12 mile home journey from work, which consists of all b roads & a short dual carriageway section, varies from 31 to 35 mpg :) -
Sounds like the barrel m8, mine has done the same.... Unfortunately the ignition barrel can't be retumbled & thus it's a case of new barrel with keys, iirc cost was about £78 Inc vat from VW
