ive ran KW V1's for a couple of years now & they are definitely 1 of the best spends ive done on my vr6 :D

When i used to have my 1.8 16v i only ran it on normal stuff & then treated it to some super here & there & i dont recall any issues However, in my current VR6 i very quickly learned to run only V power. i find that not only is the power smoother, more responsive & punchier but also that my mpg is much better i only put 95 in the VR if i have no choice & when i do my mpg goes down noticeably.....like when there is no sign of a fual strike yet people panic buy all the fuel including v power they wouldnt normally buy & then shell prioritise normal fuel deliveries meaning no v power for over a week grrrrrrrr!!!

im hoping fellow KW coilover owners can offer their thoughts, does this sounds right..... copy of email i sent to KW: Good evening I am hoping you can help me. I called your offices last week & spoke to Richard, who was very helpful thank you. I purchased a KW V1 inox line coiloverkit for my 1995 VW Corrado VR6 during Nov 2009. The kit was fitted shortly after delivery. When my mechanic fitted my new brake discs & pads 2 weeks ago he noticed both front struts appear to be leaking, as there is visible residue around the top black part. I have taken some pictures whilst it was on the ramp & have attached them. As far as i understand the kit was fitted correctly & upon checking both sides on the rear of the car the rear struts look ok & the similar top black parts are dry. The kit has proven to be excellent & made good many hours of reading on coilover kit choice so i must say im a little disapponited to be experiencing problems within a year :( I would be very grateful if you could please advise as to what can be done 2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfPicture 222 (Medium).jpg[/attachment:2yxtjlno] Picture 223 (Medium).jpg[/attachment:2yxtjlno] the reply i received: Hi Andrew, Seepage of oil is normal on all of our coilover kits, the reason for this is because our units contain an amount of oil as well as gas. The oil is used to lubricate the Teflon seal, every time the piston rod returns out of the unit it brings a very small amount of oil with it. If you touch the piston rod you will have film of oil on your finger. So please clean the units and make them dry and then run the car for a few days and report back your findings this has me head scratching as i understand his point but surely if the oil is escaping to the point it is leaving residue round the seal then it will eventually deplete? :help: would be very much appreciated

I think many of us here share ur thoughts regarding the passion we feel for our beloved rados I know i plan on never selling my VR, I couldn't put myself thru the heartache I experienced when I had to sell my White valver....even now that i have my VR I wish I'd kept the 1.8 lol

T.I.D.Y!!!!! thats the next oil change prep'd & ready for...order done  -
it is very similar with the VR, as the bently doesnt cover the UK ABV 2.9 lump i know i personally do as you mention - ie use a bently for all the main stuff & then try to get a book which specifically covers the engine :) i find the bently manual a great reference & a big help when trying to get a job sorted in my mind before carrying it out

help... AAA not ABV supplied engine.. what next!
g0ldf1ng3r replied to oli1vw's topic in General Car Chat
if it aint what it says in the tin then surely you could give them the 'sale of goods act....blah blah.....not supplied product paid for....not fit for purpose' hardball lines -
im currently running 195/50/15 on the front & 205/50/15 on the rear & all is fine, she was mot'd like it too in fact, & pls correct me if im wrong but i believe that up until the final face lift model the rado's were fitted with 195/50/15s all round :) on the ABS front, from what i can gather the sensors pick up the signal or whatever from a circular disc with lots of holes in the region behind the brake disc....thus not wheel dependant if you get me hope that hleps lol
