  1. I have recently changed my front setup from VW discs & pads to EBC USR series discs & green stuff pads & think the combination are a vast improvement over the genuine VW versions! they can be a tad noisey under heavy braking but i can put up with that as a trade for stopping a great distance sooner I also have to mention that i was very disappointed in the longevity of the VW brake parts - brand new genuine VW discs & pads fitted at the same time & i barely got 20K miles out of them :s
  2. I have used both of the rado's ive owned as daily's & to be honest i dont even like the thought of driving a different car as a daily Plus i see & work on many many different classic cars & VW's of all shapes/conditions/ages & the amount of seized parts etc that result from lack of use can end up being drastic but with that said its often about how they are stored & looked after during storage
  3. ha ha no it didnt lol sadly it was parted with some years ago now G232 KOF was the reg & it had a kamei front/rear/side skirt kit on it......which you cant buy now for love nor money http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?44751-g0ldf1ng3r-s-VR-new-pics-of-new-paint-)&highlight=g0ldf1ng3r should you wish to take a look ;)
  4. hmmmmmm i do miss my white valver & even today i regret selling it :(
  5. IIRC if it is a VR6 it is highly advised NOT to use any sort of radweld type product - again IIRC i think it is due to very small channels which can become blocked if you use such a product Im not sure if the same would apply to other flavours of rado
  6. Hi I have been looking into a fault with my drivers side heated seat. 1st thing i would check is can you hear the relay clicking when you move either switch on the dash? You should hear a click come from behind the rear passenger door card for both sides (as they have separate relays) as you dial the switch on & off This should at least give you an idea if the problem is with the loom from dash to relays or from relays to seat/s or the seat element themselves. My issue seems to be that the drivers side relay is buzzing & thus i think it may be an issue with the power in feed on drivers side :s - however saying that it worked on a random test last week & i had a warm bum after a few mins.....grrrrr! lol
  7. TIDY!!!! A woman that loves a Rado, winner!! :D Welcome, im sure it wont take long until you feel at home here & there are lots of helpful people to help us all out! As mentioned, lots of us are serial rado owners including me ;) Look forward to pics when you have time :)
  8. excellent!! that would make sense if it was to outlet to the drain pipes. were your front drain pipes connected? or have you got a bentley manual to double check where the connect to? (i can have a look in mine over the weekend if you havent)
  9. OK couple of pics taken There is no sign of any holes that i can tell on mine.....but Hmmmm on closer inspection of your 1st photo the small white bit by where you can see the + screw looks very much the same. Unfortunately im not in a position to take a pic of the underside but from what i could tell it didnt look like a hole that goes thru to the other side (if you get me) i hope they help m8 but maybe someone who is breaking a C or has their roof liner out might be able to take another pic of the underside
  10. Am pleased to say its nice & sunny here today so hopefully if it lasts till lunch at 14.00 i will take it & get it uploaded so you can check tomorrow :)
  11. MMMMM 993 GT2 is one motor that is right near the top of my wish list!!! :D ****or rather my 'dream' list i should say**** That might stretch your budget a little too far so maybe a different flavour ;) lol tough choice you have, would keeping the storm until you have purchased & are confident you only want the 993 be out of the question :)
  12. Hello m8 I agree it would be rather odd for a leak to be ONLY caused by the incline on which a rado is sat. I have an issue where the trim around the outer panel of the sunroof, possibly called the outer seal, does not stay fully up & thus sags down but i do not have any leaks. From what ive read the part i mention is only aesthetic & it is the drain channels & drains that actually stop the water entering the cabin If this bloody rain stops i will take a pic of the section underneath the wind deflector & post it so you can compare :)
  13. iwant1ofthose.com\seriouslyneedthatinmylife-wowwhatasetup!!!
  14. well done!! a little perseverance goes a a long way ;)
  15. Welcome! Nice to see your joining in already with the signature, Daves16V parts are excellent ;)
  16. Good luck!! A step-by-step with all the options & part numbers & fitting guide i shall certainly watch out for :D
  17. would you be kind enough to please send me a copy too :) thanks in advance!!
  18. Well would you believe it! Ive not had a spot for a little while & then im sat here at work & a friend says 'come check this out of the window'.......& there is a rather nice blue K reg VR6 sat in our work car park :D Looks standard format but well looked after & has made me think i really should fit my new spot lens covers as the lack of cracks looks much better lol edit - upon closer inspection......its got a nice mileage of 77K on it & has cloth recaro's...still not located the owner though
  19. thats great news its not suspect chains!!!! the money saved on those can go towards replacing your running gear - the ride & handling are sooo much improved once all those parts & suspension have been refreshed!! ;)
  20. If you search on this forum oilman from opie oils did a good post on benefits of fully synthetic oils.............i have only used fuchs silkolene pro-s 5w-40 since reading that ;) i would guess it is just your tappets getting the fluid round if the noise quietens down like you say - IIRC hydraulic tappets are always noisey when it is first start of the day
  21. Afternoon :) Could you please tell me, has the electric sunroof switch gone yet? Thanks
  22. Is the noise constant? I know on mine the hydraulic tappets can sound rather rattly but this is normal for the first few minutes & quietens down quickly
