Nothing Corrado related, unless you can count underpants for those all to frequent occasions when it all goes wrong!
-
Here's a ink to the wiki for problems with one side, but you may be able to get both open by releasing the cable from underneath........... worth a try I suppose.
-
Pair of pliers on the end of the cable by the handle there should do it mate.

Merry christmas everyone! hope santa emptied his sack for each and every one of you!

Corrado Club National Day 2014
seanl82 replied to Tempest's topic in Event Announcements & Discussion
Oooh birthday weekend away for me somewhere central then, I'll get the missus to book a hotel when the date is announced! :thumbleft: -
Very kind words, thank you Roger. Thanks for the posh coffee too! Nice to see a good un' and I'll have mine as straight as yours someday hopefully! See you again soon mate, RR day around Easter would be awesome! :thumbleft:

Use the specialist companies mate. HIC, Adrian flux, etc, as these are the ones more likely to give you a reasonable quote. The mainstream companies will just see you as an owner of a performance vehicle who's had a drink driving ban, so your just a statistic and will command a higher price. The smaller companies are a little more personal I think, but will likely have restrictions. It's a compromise, but needs must and all........

Thinks I'll get some sharpish then! I've never really been keen on the lupo or tt arms, but the drive down to Plymouth in the rain yesterday really highlighted how bad the standard ones are, especially at speed. Down right dangerous at times!
-
Are the splines the same then, or is it a bit of fettling to get em to fit?
-
Welcome to the fold! Have a look in the wiki section. All the problems you have are covered with 'how to' in there mate. Spoiler raise is likely to be control Module, heater only working on 4 is a thermal fuse, but directional control is a bit of a nightmare. All are common problems though and only dials will cost you good money.

Here now. Threw a bit of wobbly Sat on the A38 for 45 minutes after an accident, she spluttered and almost cut out a couple of times. :confused4:, I gave her ash a little rub, told her I don't like being stuck in traffic either and that she's been grand the last couple of days, and she behaved herself after. :luvlove: As for meeting up, I'm easy guys, anyone have any commitments so days they can't do in the next week? Any suggestions where to meet too?

Trip to Glastonbury and back yesterday. Picked up a replacement bonnet and wings. Bonnet had to go straight on and old one had to be scrapped unfortunately as it was too big to cart back. Shame really as all it needed was paint. Gotta stretch her legs down to Plymouth now as the kids are so bloody spoilt, we couldn't get all their presents, luggage and travel cot in the Saab! Taking the wings and some cleaning gear down with me though so gives me something to do! I'll update with pics in the next few days of the few little things I've done. I'll arrange a mini Devon meet if I can when I get there!

It needs to be balanced as well but I'm sure anyone with the correct equipment could do it. The material gets taken off of the face generally. There's not much metal on the ring gear side, so the face is where the weight is. Balancing is just a series of drill marks in the appropriate place/s to ensure the same amount is taken off all round.

Hotgolf on clubgti did the one on my mk 3. It was a couple of years ago but cost me £69 returned and went from around 10.5kg to just below 6kg iirc. Lots have used him and many recommend him including me. I've never heard of any negative affects from using them though. Some say you loose a touch of torque, but I can't say I noticed any difference in that respect tbh.
-
Pump 5k into yours and never see it again, or buy one of the above and loose it in depreciation anyway. Stick with what you know and love, although you need to decide if it really is time to move on as its not the first time you've contemplated it. No-ones gonna keep their car forever despite what we say, maybe it's time to move on now?.............

They do an OE black at a little extra iirc

Sad day as another Corrado, mine, gets written off
seanl82 replied to larceny fink's topic in General Car Chat
I got near £1500 for my old valver that was avarage and had 170k, and bought it back for £34.20! Front and rear end damage to mine but was still drivable though. I then sold it to devondubshack to break for £175. May give you an idea. -
Tripple post mate

Those look like standard cams to me mate. I'm led to believe the SP cams are stamped on the end where the pulley attaches, so a bit of a pita to check. Either way, I don't think they'd have a VAG stamp on them if they were aftermarket.

Holy frig! Glad your ok fella, looks like you were literally inches from the end! Hope the other guy gets the book thrown at him for dangerous driving! -
Worth trying to get hold of a few things that'll probably fall to pieces on removal. Assuming its a windows out respray, you'll need both scraper seals (drivers side is obsolete iirc), wing mirror seals (also obsolete iirc), roof gutter plastics (obsolete) and door seals. As you can see, there may be a small problem with obtaining a few items! If you can do it yourself before taking it down, remove them yourself. BE VERY CAREFUL!!!

Ok so I've ordered some Amber LEDs for the indicators when I swap to all reds over xmas, but I've seen a few people saying they were nearly rear ended. I'm assuming this is due to the need for LED brake bulbs also as the paint thickness over the top dulls them. Is this correct anyone in the know?
